Yoo Kyu Won/Your POV

I was shaken awake by umma. She looked at me and said, "Pack your stuff. We're leaving."

I nodded. I didn't need to pack much, as most of my things were still in my suitcase. I quickly gathered up all my things. "Where are we going?" But I already knew the answer. Home.

She continued packing and said, "Seoul. We're going back to Seoul." I smiled, a tiny smile.

"Araso."

She looked at me. "Done?" I nodded. "Kaja."

"Ne...Kaja. Adios, Singapore."

I remember the day we left for Singapore. It was like today. But we were in a different country. We were in Malaysia. Umma had came home and told me to pack. I didn't ask much, just the same question, 'Where are we going?'

It was interesting, really. We had left so many places. Been to so many places. Had so many houses. Apartments. But Korea was our home. We always seemed to go back to Korea in the end. We always ended up at Seoul. It was like a pattern.

Somewhere in South Korea>Country 1>Country 2>Country 3>Seoul>Country 4>Somewhere in South Korea, then all over again.

We'd been to many places in South Korea, but we always ended up in Seoul. This had been going on for 17 years now. Almost 18. Maybe many more years. But it has been going on my whole life.

The day after I was born, we left for Beijing. I don't remember Beijing, because we don't usually go to the same place twice, but umma told me that it was beautiful.

I never asked why we kept leaving. It was apart of my life. Leaving.

But umma did tell me something.

Ever since I was young, my mum told me we were in debt forever. To my mum’s friend. Why? Because she died to save my mum. She did something heroic and saved mum, but that tore her own family picture into a million pieces. I don’t know what happened.

I never pried about mum’s past. I never questioned mum.

We relied on each other to survive. We did what we had to.

Mum didn’t have to worry about me when I disappeared. I didn’t have to worry about her when she disappeared. We trusted each other.

That, that was enough.
