“Five more minutes...” I reached for my phone with closed eyes, I still feel tired from last night.

Kinuha ko ang phone ko at wala namang alarm but I saw a notification indicating that someone is calling, si Aeri lang pala.

“Gi—“

“Thank God you picked up the phone! Wake the hell up, idiot!” linayo ko sa tenga ang cellphone ko dahil sa napakalakas na sigaw ni Aeri.

I pressed the speaker button and stood up, went to my big window, the sun was not a pleasant surprise this morning.

“Kanina pa ako tumatawag at nagtetext, Minjeong! Pray for your dear life na sana mabait yung prof ngayon kaya kumilos ka na dyan at humabol dito.”

“W-what time is it..?” I asked, napatingin din ako sa phone ko.

6:20 AM? What..? It's still early-

“It’s already 8:20 AM! Mali ba na-set mo at PM ang nailagay?! Rush hour pa naman ngayon, 'wag ka na maligo!” she said and I heard the line ended. I rubbed my eyes again and looked at my phone.

! I can’t be late, hindi pwede mangyari ‘to! The school guard might be a terror. I immediately rushed to my closet to get any jeans I see, agad ko na din kinuha ang nakita kong light brown oversized polo.

I sniffed myself and luckily I still smell good, nagpabango na lang ako just incase I need it for later. I just hope it's fine to wear this outfit, baka mapagalitan ako dahil hindi ako naka-uniform. God, I hate this day.

Sumabay pa ang napakatagal dumating na elevator sa floor ko, I now regret picking a tenth floor pero kasi ito ang gusto ko dahil sa view but this is very annoying! I looked at my phone and its 8:32 AM already, should I just skip my first class? Pero graduating na kasi ako so hindi p'wede!

The elevator door opened at pumasok na ako, nagsuklay ako ng buhok and applied some gel to keep my hair down, binasa ko na din ang mga messages galing kay Aeri.

Gigi : good morning, wake up babe 

Gigi : ay hindi na ako makiki-babe, may kabit ka na kasi haha 😠

Gigi : hello? hoy minjeong nakaligo na ako lahat-lahat!

Gigi : gaga ka, papahatid na lang ako kay papa, malapit na mag 8 AM!

Gigi : bahala ka talaga, if magtatanong si prof bakit wala ka pa sasabihin ko you pooped on your pants and had to leave dahil mabaho!

“Come on.” nahampas ko ang manibela sa inis, malapit na ako sa university but this heavy traffic came in to my way because a car crashed at the front, I hope they're okay but I'm going to be late! Dumagdag pa ang tyan kong wala pang kain.

Could this day get any worse?

As soon as I reached the parking of our campus, I parked my car at my usual spot. I checked the time again and its 8:48 AM. Tumakbo na ako papunta sa building ko and the guard didn't even mind me. I saw some eyes following me but I did not bother as well.

While trying to run on the stairs, nakita ko si Ma’am Gutierrez, our professor in the first class. I’m praying and hoping that our second door is opened. Kinakabahan akong naglalakad sa likod niya dahil baka mapansin niya ako, good thing she’s focused walking and not looking behind.

Nang makapasok na si ma’am, nakita ako ng mga kaklase ko at ang gulat na mata ni Aeri ang sumalubong sa ’kin. Agad tumayo si Aeri at pumunta sa prof, distracting her about something while my blockmates are pointing the back door, telling me to go there.

Pumasok na ako dito at kumaripas ng takbo sa bakanteng upuan sa tabi ni Aeri, she’s still facing our prof and gave me a thumbs up with her hand in the back, I chuckled when she raised her middle finger as well.

“Attendance, class.” our prof and I suddenly had an eye contact, kinabahan ako. Siguro ay nagulat siya dahil may biglang nakaupo sa bakanteng upuan na nakita niya pagpasok. Umupo na si Aeri sa tabi ko.

“You owe me one, Min. Punta tayo BGC later, doon kasi yung meeting place namin nung nakausap namin and itu-tour niya daw ako sa place.” she said and I gave her a thumbs up just like she did, she just rolled her eyes.

“Don’t tell me nagpuyat ka kasama yung Rina na nakita ko the other day sa phone mo.” she said in a teasing manner. She’s at my passenger seat fiddling with her phone.

Classes are done and we’re now at my car, good thing hindi na masyado tirik ang araw dahil hapon na. As usual, traffic papuntang BGC but Aeri’s keeping me entertained with her ‘chikas’ since she knows how much I hate waiting too long on the road. She brought up why I woke up late kanina at agad naman nitong inisip si Karina ang dahilan, tch.

“It was because of the activity sa Finance, ayoko na mag-cram kaya tinapos ko na kagabi. Slept late and I woke up late as well, happy?”

“Oh, 'wag ka iiyak.” she laughed at hinawakan ako sa balikat. I heard a shutter sound, she took a selfie. Pinakita niya pa ito sa’kin, nakangiti siya at ako’y parang galit sa buhay.
