“Yah! Why are you like this?!” Yuqi spat out between gasping breaths. Lifting her wand, she turns the chunk of ceiling plummeting towards them into fine dust. “Just put it back!” She barks out, coughing on the fine dust particulate.

“No!” Shuhua returns heatedly. Her arms tighten around the red and gold dragon egg. “Jinjin—” she takes a running roll under the falling stone door, “—I have to—” 

The ground ripples, sending both wizards careening, over kettle, through the air. Behind them the colossal stone door explodes and an angry red scaled dragon barrels through the debris.

“ My egg, ” it hisses. 

When its head snaps back and its maw glows red, Shuhua frantically pushes Yuqi to her feet, “Up up up!” she chants. Egg tucked securely in her arms, she manages a quick deflection spell. It does nothing for the incinerating heat.

“Hot!” Yelps Yuqi as she tries to quell the rising temperature before they boil from the inside out. Rounding the corner, scrambling to stay on her feet, Yuqi cries, “Why can’t you just propose like a normal wizard?!”
