Hangeng immediately choked when he took in Heechul’s state. Pale lips, blue transparent eyelids, greyish pale skin and tubes everywhere in his princess. If Shindong and Yesung hadn’t had a hold on each of his arms he would have fallen to his knees once more. Heechul looked so fragile that Hangeng felt afraid to touch him. Nevertheless he walked over to him on shaking legs and took his small hand in his. He shivered as he noticed that the hand was almost pure skin and bone. The diva had definitely lost weight since the last time he had seen him. One of the members brought him a chair and he sat down feeling slightly relief as he was beginning to feel very tired. He didn’t know what time it was but it was definitely after midnight. The members all made themselves comfortable different places in the room since none of them wanted to go home. Just as everyone was settled the doctor came in once more.

“As you might have guessed by him being moved he is now out of immediate danger. He is comatose and his condition is under constant observation. It is impossible to say if and when he will wake up but as far as our observation data go there is a very good chance that he will wake up. The question is when,” the doctor informed. They all listened carefully and all made the decision to hope for the best. The doctor left them to let them spend some time together and the only thing that could be heard in the room except their breathing was the constant beep of the heart monitor. They were all immersed in their own thoughts about Heechul and the entire situation. As time passed slowly some of the members started to nod of. Hangeng his phone which he had turned off as soon as he had reached the hospital to get a break from his fiancé's eternal calling and texting. There were about a billion texts, half of them from his phone company informing him that his fiancé had left a message on his voice mail, the other half from his fiancé freaking out over how quickly he had left her apartment and asking him what the hell was going on and where he was. He didn’t have the energy to answer her right now and put his phone away again. He started reminiscing all the times he had spent with Heechul. When he had first met the man many years ago (now it felt like he had known him always and he couldn’t even picture his life without the diva’s presence one way or another) he had been rather scared of the other’s brutal façade, but he soon found a way into the diva’s heart and they became inseparable. They were as different as night and day but they seemed to be in perfect balance just like Yin and Yang. Even though Heechul often teased Hangeng both on and off air, Hangeng knew that he never meant any of it (apart from that one time where Heechul had said that other people wouldn’t understand what Hangeng said if Heechul weren’t there to translate it, though Hangeng knew that he meant just as much what was going on in his head, which Heechul seemed to understand perfectly, as well as the actual language barrier) and that he could always count on Heechul to have his back no matter what he was up against. Heechul had practically broken the law on air when he had removed the infamous mask H

Chapter 16: Oh my god, I finally finished it! I read the first few chapters and the angst and pain were so real and so overwhelming, I cried and I had to take a break from this fic for a few days. I was honestly a bit scared to get back to reading it, because I was so afraid that it wasn't going to end well. But now that I've finished it and know that it has actually ended well, I am so happy. This story really was an emotional rollercoaster, but written so well that I would ride that rollercoaster again in a heartbeat.
