Rowoon leaned on his seat. It was another busy day for the Vice President of Samsung. He’s had four meetings today and what’s worse is that he only had a cup of coffee. His secretary did offer to get him something to eat, but because he had to deal with important investment meetings today, he did not have the appetite for anything at all. Being the perfectionist he is, he sure is glad that all the meetings went well today. He closed his eyes and massaged his forehead. He does not even have the energy to order something for delivery.

 

“I should have taken my secretary’s offer before dismissing him” He mumbled

 

“Or we can eat out together” A voice suddenly blurted 

 

“Oh what are you doing here?” Rowoon smiled as he looked at his guest. He knew her voice with all his heart.

 

“We finished filming today and thought of eating dinner with Hwiyoung, but he mentioned that you’re still in the office”

 

“Perfect! You ditched my brother for me!” He smiled as he approached the girl

 

“Want to eat together? I’m hungry” The actress pouted

 

“Let’s go!” Rowoon held on her hand

 

“I want sushi, but I also want ramen” 

 

“We can eat whatever you want to, baby” He smiled as he slightly tickled her side. His exhaustion suddenly gone.

“I heard from my men that you were dating an actress named Lee So Hyun? Heard she broke up with you too and ran to Samsung’s heir” A man in his early 50’s said

 

“She didn’t run to him. He took her from me” Song Kang said as he finished his glass of whiskey in one shot

 

“And you let him take her from you” 

 

“That’s something you should not be adding oil on. You should be on my side. I’m your son”

 

“Exactly! You are my son and yet you let another man take her from you”

 

“Why did you call me to your house? You never seeked for a father and son moment before”

 

“Because I found out who she is and I want to help you get her back”

 

“Why do you suddenly care about my love life?” 

 

“She’s one of them” The elder man said

 

“One of them?”

 

“She’s part of SF9…the same family who took your would have been stepmother” 

 

“What?” Song Kang asked

 

“Her boyfriend now, Rowoon is it? He is the son of that same woman who was going to be your stepmother before, Ji Ah” 

 

“H-how…”

 

“I was surprised when I heard from my men that you dated So Hyun but she got taken by a Samsung heir from you. I wanted to make their family suffer and has been planning to sabotage their business, but then here you are conveniently providing me a way to make them regret stealing my girl”

 

“Will you really help me get her back?” Song Kang turned to his father “Then help me. I won’t be playing innocent this time” He said before walking out

 

Song Kang looked around the house and the memory of his five-year old self came flashing in front of his eyes. His mother died when he was just born. His father raised him just fine, and things were even perfect when he turned 2. His father met Ji Ah and eventually, he had a mother figure in his life. It was almost his 6th birthday when Ji Ah came crying in his room at night. He remembered hearing her whisper apologies in his ears, and when he woke up, he saw the mess in his father’s room. His father had turned his room upside down when Ji Ah broke up with him. He’s never seen her again after that. He then realized what his father told him. Rowoon is Ji Ah’s son. That same man who stole the woman he loves had stolen his mother too. He won’t let it happen. So Hyun is his and he would get rid of Rowoon if he has to.

“It’s very unhealthy to see an actress eat in a fried chicken restaurant huh?” So Hyun chuckled as she looked around the restaurant and smiled at the fans who recognized her

 

“Well someone suddenly has a craving for greasy food. I thought you wanted ramen and sushi?” Rowoon teased

 

“I know fried chicken is one of your comfort food, oppa, so eat away!” She said as she offered another drumstick to him. 

 

Rowoon smiled as he took the drumstick from the girl. He’s so whipped by her that the stress he felt for the whole day just vanished. She always have that effect on him, and now he felt a strong urge to win her back once again

 

“So how was the filming today? Any other kissing scenes?” Rowoon bluntly asked

 

“Why? Want me to evaluate who kisses better between you and your brother again?” So Hyun laughed

 

“Sort of. I kind of want to rub it on his face that his hyung is a better kisser than him” Rowoon proudly smiled

 

“So childish. No kissing scenes today, but to be honest, the scenes were so heavy. I had a hard time getting rid of the emotions” So Hyun scrunched her nose

 

“I thought it’s meant to be a romantic comedy about two best friends falling in love with each other?”

 

“Come on oppa! Even we had our own hearts broken” She looked at her ex boyfriend

 

“Ouch, but true” Rowoon admitted. “After we broke up, we didn’t talk for a few months huh?”

 

“Yeah..that was tough. I mean I missed you then” So Hyun said before grabbing another piece of chicken

 

“I missed you a lot too…back then I really lost it when we broke up” Rowoon said

 

“Really? But you always seem indifferent about it” So Hyun jokingly said

 

“I thought, me being indifferent, would make it less awkward for you and we’d be ok” 

 

“Well that did help straighten things out for us”

 

“I don’t want to ever lose you again” Rowoon blurted out as he looked at her 

 

“Oppa, is this a confession? Inside a chicken restaurant?” So Hyun looked at him and laughed

 

“I’m being honest here. Screw this…I was not going to say something and just shut up about how I feel but I don’t think I can stand this”

 

“Huh?” She gave him a baffled look

 

“I don’t like what we have right now” Rowoon confessed

 

“We can announce our break up oppa.. That’s why I told you we should not have pretended to be in a relationship in the first place” So Hyun told him as she grabbed her phone, ready to text her manager

 

“Not that. I don’t like how all these, in your eyes are fake. My feelings for you are genuine”

 

“Oppa…”

 

“I’ll take care of my own feelings so you don’t need to answer me now, but I want you to know that I am being true to you and that I never stopped loving you. There I said it! Wow and that feels good!” Rowoon awkwardly laughed

 

“Would it be weird if I actually say I feel the same way too? That I never stopped loving you. In fact, I think I was only ever attracted to Song Kang and used him to cover how I feel towards you” 

 

“So Hyun-ah…”

 

“But oppa, I don’t want to lose you again. I don’t think I can ever stand losing my best friend again”

 

“What if the timing is right now? Will you let me win you back?”

 

So Hyun grabbed Rowoon’s free hand and held on it tight. She looked at Rowoon with so much affection that the man felt like he’s going to melt

 

“Your hand is always warm” She said as she put his palm gently on her cheeks “I don’t want to ever lose you oppa, but where does this take us now?”

 

“How do you want to handle it?” Rowoon asked as he caressed her cheeks with his thumb

 

“Let’s let time tell us?” So Hyun looked at his face

 

“But this time around, let’s not give up just like that” 

 

“Promise?” She smiled at him

 

“Promise” Rowoon said as he smiled at the girl. He knows he meant it. He will not give up on them this time around.

“My men are in your command. Just say it and they will get rid of that Samsung heir for you” Song Sunghoon, Song Kang’s father said on the other line. 

 

“I want them to prepare a van to hit their car. They’re leaving a restaurant right now. I want the van to hit Rowoon’s side of the car” Song Kang said

 

“I’ll let my right hand man know”

 

Song Kang stared at the love of his life. That girl who’s captured his heart is now smiling at another man. That same man who stole his mother. Anger filled his mind again. He thought he has everything, but turns out, this man with his girl has been taking everything from him. He’s made up his mind. He will kill him and take his girl back.

“Any plans for tomorrow?” Rowoon asked. He’s driving the two of them to So Hyun’s family home. 

 

“Just a date” So Hyun smiled

 

“We have a plan?” Rowoon looked at her briefly

 

“Oppa, you’re not the only man in my life” She laughed. “Jaeyoon oppa insisted that I go out with him alone. He said he’s jealous that I spend too much time with Dawon oppa lately” 

 

“Wow and here I thought you always hang out with me” Rowoon laughed

 

“Nah! I think I hang out with Hwiyoung more than anyone lately” So Hyun shook her head “Our next filming would be a love scene actually” So Hyun nervously blurted

 

“Are you worried about what I’ll think?” Rowoon asked

 

“A bit? I mean especially after what we just talked about. I thought it’s only appropriate that I tell you what’s happening at work” So Hyun bit her lower lip

 

“Hey work is work. I’m actually quite glad you consider my brother your task” Rowoon laughed “Plus, I’m the only one who’s ever been very intimate with you so I don’t really care about what happens at work” 

 

“Wow you are very proud of that aren’t you?” So Hyun

 

“I was the only one who’s ever been intimate with you right?” Rowoon curiously asked

 

“I’ll keep you guessing” So Hyun laughed

 

“Hey! That’s not fun!” Rowoon briefly caressed her cheek

 

“But you never went out with anyone after our break up?” So Hyun asked

 

Rowoon shook his head “I never did”

 

“Why?”

 

“No one can compare to you” He sincerely answered

 

“You really would keep doing this huh oppa? Making my heart flutter” She smiled as she held on Rowoon’s hand that’s holding the gearshift. 

 

“Glad I make your heart flutter” Rowoon’s smile widened

 

“You’re such an angel. I don’t think I deserve you” 

 

“Oh trust me love, it’s the other way around. I don’t deserve you” Rowoon said, making So Hyun’s heart swelled in joy with his confession. So Hyun kissed his cheeks. All emotions kicking in her. “You shouldn’t be doing this, we might get to an accident” Rowoon briefly looked at her

 

“Yes, we shouldn’t be doing this” So Hyun laughed

 

“Also, I think we may be in trouble” 

 

“Why? What’s wrong oppa?“ So Hyun asked

 

“See that black van behind us? It’s been following us for a while now” Rowoon said

 

So Hyun looked at the side mirror and finally noticed the van

 

“A sasaeng fan? Can’t be. They don’t use such vehicles” So Hyun worriedly said 

 

“Love, can you do me a favor? Can you call Jaeyoon hyung and tell him our situation?” Rowoon calmly said. If it was only him being chased, he’d confront the owner of the van right away, but with So Hyun beside him, he can’t act carelessly. 

 

The actress followed his order and dialed her brother’s number instantly 

 

“Hi! Are you almost here?” Jaeyoon sweetly asked

 

“Uhmm oppa we are close by but there’s a black van following us. It’s kind of concerning” she said

 

“A black van? Can you put me to speaker?” He instructed

 

So Hyun put him on speaker and she listened in as his brother deals with the situation with Rowoon

 

“Rowoon oppa!!!” So Hyun called. Another black van is driving side by side with them. The window of the van rolled down, showing a man on the passenger seat aiming a gun at their car. Rowoon stepped on the gas. He doesn't like breaking the law, but if his speeding can save them both, then so be it. 

 

“ hyung! I think this is an urgent situation. Ask our men to get to us fast” Rowoon said before hanging up

 

“Hold on tight love. I’ll get us out of here” Rowoon said as he put both his hands tightly on the steering wheel. 

 

The two black vans are now sandwiching them. If So Hyun’s heart was beating madly because of Rowoon’s confession earlier, now she’s just feeling numb. The man on their left side aimed his gun once again. It was obvious he’s aiming for Rowoon’s head

 

“Oppa!!!” So Hyun called for him

 

The man shot, but missed them when Rowoon slowed down a bit. Rowoon continuously hit the van’s side, surprising the shooter. With the impact, the shooter dropped the gun on the ground . The two vans then hit both sides of their car causing Rowoon to have a hard time controlling the wheel. 

 

“I’ll get us out of here” Rowoon said as he noticed their family’s men’s cars ahead. They’ve blocked the road, leaving both vans to slow down. Clearly the people who targeted them were not prepared to face their family’s wrath. 

 

So Hyun sighed in relief when Rowoon stopped the car and their men forcefully took out the men inside the vans

 

Rowoon unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to the girl. “Are you ok?” He cupped her cheeks

 

“Oppa, you’re bleeding!” So Hyun worriedly said as she checked on Rowoon. Tears instantly fell from her eyes as she started to panic

 

“It’s ok. We’re ok” Rowoon, not caring about his wound, tried to comfort her. 

 

“Let’s head to the hospital. Let’s go to Inseong oppa” She said. Youngbin opened Rowoon’s side of the car and told them about the men they caught

 

“Hyung, I might need to get stitched. So Hyun needs to be checked too” Rowoon told his brother. 

 

“ Rowoon! How can you be calm when you’re bleeding?! So Hyun, you ok? Jaeyoon is on his way” Youngbin blurted

 

“Let’s head to the hospital first hyung” Rowoon said

 

“Leave this car to our men. We’ll use my car. Come on” Youngbin said

 

“Let’s go, love” Rowoon helped unbuckle her seatbelt before getting off

 

So Hyun got off the car and ran to Rowoon’s side right away. The numbness she felt earlier is now replaced with throbbing pain on her chest. She has an idea what this feeling is. It’s the feeling of fear of possibly losing Rowoon. She held his hand very tight as they walked to Youngbin’s car. She needed to feel him to make her heart calm. It’s as if she needed to remember every part of his hand to  convince herself that he’s ok. That the man she literally just expressed her feelings for earlier  is alive and is right next to her.
