Hyukjae hasn't been whining. Much. That's what Donghae tells himself. He can slip out. Hyukjae won't cling. Whimper. That Donghae stay.

He touches his messy blonde hair. His cheek. Hyukjae's eyes are closed. Donghae runs his fingers down his arm. Watching his face. He takes his arm off his waist. Gently places it between them. Hyukjae's still asleep.

He also has to move... his own arm. From under Hyukjae's head. He tugs. A little. Hyukjae's head moves with it. His hand comes to grab it too. He snuggles closer to Donghae.

What now? He can't sleep with him. He'd like to. But the whole reason... he ed Hyukjae senseless in the afternoon... was so Donghae could get that dinner prepared.

An excuse might... work.

Donghae pulls the man to him. Kisses his mouth. Whispers, "Baby?"

"Mmh?"

Donghae kisses him again. "I have to go to the bathroom, okay? I'll be back in a minute."

He moves a little. Hyukjae's eyes don't open. But he frowns. Lips pouting. Unhappy. He lets Donghae slip away.

Donghae quickly covers him again. Kisses his head. His cheek. His pouting lips. He steps back. Waits.

Hyukjae continues to sleep.

Hyukjae stirs awake. It's slightly dark. He's turned to the side. Where Donghae should be. But... he doesn't seem to be.

He blinks his eyes. Feels the bed. Empty. He sits up slowly.

"Hae?"

He looks behind himself. The curtains are drawn. On the sliding doors to the back. There's light coming. Like lamps. Flickers and shadows. Hyukjae pulls the sheets closer. It's just supposed to be him and Donghae here. What's going on?

"Donghae?" he calls again.

His own phone is on his side. There's no messages. He looks over to the other side. Donghae's is not there. Hyukjae grabs his phone. Messages him.

"Hae where are you?"

His message is seen. Hyukjae waits. But then he hears steps. Hurried. He gasps. The sliding door opens. The curtains pulled. To reveal Donghae.

"Hae--"

"Baby?"

"You scared me!"

Donghae closes the door. Fixes the curtains. Comes to sit on the bed. Pecks his lips. Takes his hand.

"Hyukjae? How are you? You must be hungry."

"W-Where were you?"

"Come, I'll help you to the bathroom."

"What were you doing? W-Who else is out there, Hae?"

"Oh, don't worry about that. They'll leave soon."

Donghae helps him to his feet. Kisses his cheek. Hyukjae still tries to see. Beyond the curtains.

"But what are they doing?"

"Just helping me set up," Donghae says. Arm around his waist. Walking him.

Hyukjae stops. At the door of the bathroom. Looks at him. "Set up what?"

Donghae chuckles. "Just a little something."
