I did not mean to shout that. Why did I do that? I said clarify the misunderstanding, not shout your relationship status to the entire floor.
Will she run away now? Will I never see her again?
Wait. What is she even doing here?
"Way to go, Byul!" she heard one of her workmates shout.
"Yes! Be proud!" Who was that?
"You go girl!" another one chimes in.
Oh god. Is Miss Gorgeous laughing?
Despite the slow feeling of embarrassment, Byul wills herself to walk towards Irene now. With an almost uneasy but cheeky smile, she hands the rose Wheein threw at her a while ago.
"Very sorry. Here."
"Thank you? What was that about?"
"I just– uh... wanted to clear up that I don't have a girlfriend. From this morning, you know?" Byul scratches the back of her head, smiling and looking at her feet.
"Well, you didn't have to shout it but I think you've clarified it enough." Irene laughs.
Well, at least she's not running away. Since I already shouted I'm single, why not just be honest all the way, right?
"I thought I'd lose my chance again."
Irene's eyes quickly widen in surprise. Now it's her turn to shyly smile at her feet. Fingers fiddling with the rose Byul gave her, she lifted it up to her nose to smell it. Byul just smirks and patiently waits for a reply.
Irene looked up at her and just simply said, "See you on Monday, Byul," slowly turning away to walk towards her friends.
She watches Irene walk away again for the third time today. This time her smirk not leaving her face. No more shock. And especially no more confusion on who has a girlfriend or not.
