Was this the end?

It didn't feel like the end.

It felt like the beginning of something new and breathtakingly beautiful.

It was like everything was almost completed.

It was as if life was finally coming together and becoming whole again.

Before, life use to seem to be growing wider and unsolved.

Until now.

"What're you doing here?"

"Am I not allowed to visit my role model?" I asked with a teasing grin. I entered her office and plopped myself down on her leather chair just across from her. Moonbyul chuckled and removed her glasses,

"Didn't know you'd be staying here in Korea for this long," she pointed out. I could only smile,

"I was thinking of staying a bit longer to grow the restaurant business here. Maybe even move back just to keep it intact."

"Then, I take it you and Jennie are doing well?" She asked. Seeing the corner of her lip tugged upwards into a knowing smirk, my cheeks instantly heated up in embarrassment. "I'll also take the blush on your cheeks as a yes." I playfully rolled my eyes with a grin,

"Shut up."

She laughed and leaned against the chair, "I'm still waiting for that thank you," she said. I furrowed my eyebrows with a confused grin,

"Did you want me to thank you for constructing the core of my character? Because if so, thank you" I teased, knowing damn well she was the main reason I stayed so sane back in high school. Moonbyul chuckled with a shake of a head and grinned at me,

"You've thanked me enough on that part," she said with a warm smile that I couldn't help but mirror. She had always been there through every breaking point of my high school life and I thanked her every day. Not only was she like an older sister to me, she became someone I wanted to be.

"Back then, you were so persistent on persuading me to talk to Jennie and I never understood why," I said, leaning back and crossing my arms with an incredulous look. "You knew about Jennie this whole time didn't you?" I asked. Without missing a beat, she replied with a small smile,

"I did."

I let out a shaky breath, "Then why didn't you tell me?"

"Would it have changed anything?" She asked making me grow silent which she took as a permission to continue, "Think about it Lisa, if you would have known, you would have still left with your parents to Thailand. And if you would have talked to Jennie, her parents would have taken her away if they knew about you two."

I looked down and clasped my hands together, letting out a defeated sigh. She was right. At the end of the day, whatever we did, it would still lead to the same unfortunate outcome. I heard her sigh and stand up. I lifted my head up and watched her walk around the desk and stand in front of me with a small smile,

"It was all about timing Lisa. Things happen for a reason and it's up to you to figure out what it all means." She said. And I knew she was right, my fears  use to tell me otherwise. But I'm older now, and I don't want to make the same mistakes again. She then pursed her lips and tilted her head,

"Can I ask you something?"

I stared at her for a moment before nodding my head.

"Yes."

"Do you regret anything?"

Did I?

Did I regret every decisions I made so far?

"No."

"How about this one?"

"Eh, looks a little bland."

"Okay? How about this one!"

"The color doesn't suit you."

"Maybe this one!"

"My fish can dress better than that."

"What are you— oh, I see what you're doing," I said with an eye roll.

Chaeyoung giggled and continued to eat her chips while watching me look through my clothes in a frenzy. And after a few more seconds of looking, frustration bubbled up and I groaned in frustration. I jump on the bed face first and whined in annoyance. I rolled over with a pout,

"This is too stressful. I'm going to buy a ticket back to Thailand and change my identity," I said in a huff. Chaeyoung playfully rolled her eyes and flicked my forehead,

"Stop with the dramatics and go shower," she said. I watched her stand up and stare at my clothes for a couple seconds before she smiled and grabbed a long sleeved off the shoulder blouse and a pair of black jeans. She looked over at me and winked,

"You're welcome."

"Lisa!! Your dates here!!"

I gasped and quickly finished up applying my lipstick before backing away from the mirror and scanning my outfit one more time. I combed my fingers through my hair before smiling in satisfaction.

Perks of being friends with a fashionista.

I let out a shaky breath before grabbing my purse and exiting the room. I walk down the hall towards the living room where I heard light giggles and soft voices. And the moment I stepped foot in the living room and caught the eye of a certain girl, I froze in my stance. She looked beautiful.

Jennie met my eyes and I watched them dilate for a second with her lips parting slightly. She scanned me from head to toe before meeting my eyes again with a hint of pink in her cheeks. Heat rushed into my cheeks as well as I took in her fresh beauty.

From the light waves of her brown hair that cascaded down her shoulders that were bare from her light blue blouse that a had a cute giant bow in front. I had to quickly hold eye contact so I wouldn't linger my eyes to long on the curve of her breas—

"You look beautiful Lisa," she breathed out, clutching her purse tightly in front of her. I smiled and slowly approached her, never letting my eyes wander on anything else but her. Cause that's all I wanted to see.

"So do you Jennie. You look stunning," I said with a warm smile. Jennie smiled and looked down with her blush increasing.

"Well, have fun you two," Chaeyoung suddenly spoke up, breaking the tension that was slowly growing. We looked over at her and I had to roll my eyes towards the smug look that was displayed on her face. Jennie simply chuckled and smirked,

"In a hurry to kick us out so you can invite Jisoo over?" She asked, fluttering her eyes innocently. Chaeyoung dropped her smug smile and replaced it with a look of embarrassment. She playfully narrowed her eyes and pointed towards the entrance,

"Get the hell out of my house and have a lovely night."

"So, what do you have in store for us?" I asked with a teasing grin. Jennie chuckled and looked over at me with a cute smile before focusing her attention back to the road.

"Well, I was thinking of taking you to place that held many memories for the both of us," she said. Her tone sounding small and shy with her eyes sparkling in excitement and delight. "And we have arrived," she said. I looked forward and dropped my jaw for a second before feeling the corners of lips spread into the widest smile.

"No way! Did you do all of this?" I asked in excitement, already getting ready to open the car door as I waited for her to park the car.

"I did," she giggled. She turned off the ignition and met my excited eyes, "It's the place we first met."

I smiled right back before sliding out of the car. Jennie walked around the car and motioned for me to follow her to the tree. "This was the tree we first met at," she said softly, smiling as she looked at me from behind. My heart raced with the sight of it. And, as we made it to the tree, the rhythm of my heart quickened. She had set up a cute picnic area just right under the tree.

"This is amazing Jennie," I breathed out. My heart felt so warm and light towards the cute set up. She had laid a white blanket sheet with blue patterns on the grass. And, on top of the sheet laid a few pastries, strawberries and two champagne glasses. Jennie smiled and skimmed her fingers lightly on the back of my hand,

"I'm glad you like it," I heard her say. I removed my gaze from the set up and met her eyes. They were glazed with so many emotions and for the very first time, fear wasn't in them. I took her hand and squeezed,

"I love it," I whispered. She blushed but never removed her eyes from mine as she led us over to the blanket and sat us down side by side. I watched as she reached over and took both champagne glasses in her hands. Jennie handed one to me which I immediately took, loving the way she shivered as our fingers tips grazed. She shifted slightly until she was completely facing me and lifted the glass towards me,

"Cheers," she said with a tiny laugh. I chuckled and clinked our glasses together,

"Cheers."

She smiled happily and took a sip before looking around and sighing in content. "Do you remember the day we met?" She asked me. I looked around and stared up at the tree for a moment before chuckling and nodding my head,

"I do, I was hanging upside down right there and you never even knew," I laughed. "You were just drawing right underneath and I was just watching," I said with Jennie laughing alongside.

"And when I did, I screamed so loud that you got scared and fell off the tree," she said, her laughter growing a little louder that it was beginning to fill the empty park with that beautiful sound. "I almost peed from fear and laughter," she added, wiping a tear from her eye from laughing so much. I playfully rolled my eyes,

"And I got a concussion from it," I pointed out, chuckling as Jennie simply giggled and shrugged,

"You're fault for being a weird monkey," she teased. "I mean, what were you even doing up there?" She asked.

"Like you said, I tried to be a monkey," I said which earned and eye roll from her. She went to open to possibly retort till I spoke up once more. "And you surprisingly took care of me that same day after I was taken to
