A Familiar Stranger“When was I ever bored when I’m with you?”
“I-I don’t know." Kwang soo stammers, scratching the back of his head. He suddenly felt self-conscious. He didn't know she was that entertained in his presence.
Instead of a response, the room grew silent, making Ji Hyo lean her head on his shoulder. Kwang Soo stiffens at this, but she doesn’t notice. “Kwang Soo, why is that I’ve never seen you date anyone for more than a month?" She suddenly pries while gulping a glass full of beer. Kwang Soo scrunches his face at this, knowing full well how bitter the alcohol must’ve been.
“Ya, noona. Don’t make it sound like I’m a player!” He quickly defends, not wanting her to misunderstand. “It’s just that, I see dating as an investment. I wouldn’t want to give anyone false hope if I don’t think we’ll be in each other’s future, you know." In fact, I probably should stop going on these blind dates until I move on from you, noona.
She nods in understanding. He was right. “That’s true, I guess that makes sense."
Kwang Soo looks up to check the time; 11:30pm.
And before they knew it, one glass of soju became two and two became five. Then five became a considerably large amount of alcohol that Kwang Soo couldn’t handle. Though truthfully, he handles his alcohol pretty well; except when he is drinking with Ji Hyo. Well, to be fair, anyone who challenges Ji Hyo to a drink-off would lose. Ji Hyo just has a very high tolerance for any liquor. The giraffe is no match against her. He wasn’t completely lying when he teased his noona once or twice on the show about her drinking habits.
“Ya, where are you going now?” Ji Hyo whines as she tries to yank Kwang Soo by the arm as the man struggles to get up from the couch.
“I’m gonna get more kimchi. You ate all of it, noona." He replies with a slight slur in his words, only proving further how drunk he already was.
As Ji Hyo stubbornly yanks his arm, he falls back into the couch and before she knew it, Ji Hyo’s face was hovering impossibly close in front of his.
