| The 'Phone Call' |
A Familiar StrangerToday is not a good day. Song Ji Hyo is at the last straw of her patience. She has dedicated so much of her time and energy to make sure that she knew her scenes like the back of her hand. But as one would expect from a self-centered and temperamental screenwriter, he had decided to once again alter a scene. Not even the day before the particular scene was filmed, but the day after. He insisted that 'it doesn't feel right'.
Ji Hyo is a professional actress and no matter how difficult her superiors are to work with, she reminds herself that they need to generate the best results. Holding her breath for a few seconds, she exhales. And within three seconds, she had decided to re-shoot the scene to the best of her abilities. The faster it's done, the better.
Skimming through the script for the new scene, Ji Hyo sinks into the dressing room couch. It's one-o'clock in the morning. She wonders what Kwang Soo is doing. He's probably still sleeping, she thought. Extending her arm to reach for her phone, she counts the time difference with her fingers. It should be about nine in the morning over in Seoul.
At first, the actress hesitated. She didn't want to cut his sleep short, but soon decides that she might as well try her luck. It would really elevate her mood if she could hear her husband's voice even for a minute. Dialling Kwang Soo's number, she rubs the side of her head. That scriptwriter is making her age faster.
The number you're calling is unavailable, please leave a message after the tone.
Haish. She sighs. The ace thought she would just call later, he'd probably be awake in a couple more hours.
"You okay?"
Lifting her head up to the sound of the voice, she finds Dong Wook standing by the door. His nose was a little red, most likely from the cold weather. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired." She answers, tossing her phone on the couch. "Ya, don't you think he's going overboard?"
Dong Wook didn't have to ask who she was referring to. Like her, the actor also had to cancel some of his prior commitments just to finish filming the drama. The scriptwriter may be notorious with his foul temper, but he is good at his job. All of the previous drama and films that he has written had been a massive success. Laughing at the irritation on Song Ji Hyo's face, he clicks his tongue. "Ya, you're not the only one who wants to go home." He says, waving around the wrinkled script in his hand. "At least our efforts won't be going to waste. We all know he's good."
"I suppose." She answers, flipping through the script mindlessly. "I'm just tired of bei
