The teacher was pointing to something on the board, emphasizing whatever he wrote. All the students were paying great attention to the teacher’s words, all except Eunbi as she stared at the empty seat at the last row.

”Ms. Kwon may I know what you're looking at that's more important than my class?” Eunbi snapped back into focus and faced her teacher.

She shakes her head, “No sir.”

”Then listen.” The teacher says before resuming back to topic, Eunbi catches Nako giving her the are-you-okay look but she just replies with a shrug.

Four days.

It’s been four days of Hyewon being absent and it’s killing Eunbi. She has no idea what happened after Hyewon being sent home for being sick, but does it take this long to recover? Guilt is eating her up and she needs to do something about it. Classes ended and it’s now time to go and change classrooms, Eunbi was talking with Nako about a new cake in ColorZ Cafe when the older girl spots someone familiar. She quickly bids her younger friend a goodbye before jogging to the girl’s direction.

”Yena!” She calls out but the said girl doesn’t seem to hear her. “Yena!” She tries again. When she was finally close to her she taps her shoulder. Eunbi couldn't help but notice that Yena got shorter.

”Yena, have you heard from Hyewon? She hasn’t come to class in days.” But the younger girl just looks confused as she stares at her, Eunbi notices that she was wearing earphones. She signals her to take it off.

”Yes?” She slowly takes off the earphones.

“I want to ask how’s Hyewon.” Eunbi starts.

The girl’s eyes widen in surprise, “You know hyung!?”

’Hyung?’ Is there a guy called Hyewon in this school?’

”Ummmm if you mean Kang Hyewon then yes. But don't you know that already?” Did the younger girl forget her after a few days?

The girl shakes her head innocently, “Ah! Are you Eunbi?!” Now Eunbi is really confused.

”Sorry, I should Introduce myself. Hi I’m Jo Yuri! Vice President of the student council, Hyewon’s friend, and Yena’s girlfriend.” The young girl lets her hand out for a handshake which Eunbi shockingly took.

”I’m sorry that I didn’t recognize you, vice president.” Eunbi bows down in apology. Yuri just shakes her hands.

"No, it's okay unnie! I'm younger than you, you don't have to bow to me. Now what was it you were saying to me?"

Eunbi looks at the time, it's almost their next class so she has to finish the conversation quickly, "I was asking how is Hyewon?"

"Why? What's wrong with hyung?"

''Hyung again? What's with her calling Hyewon, hyung?'

"She hasn't been in class for 4 days straight. I think she might still be sick..." Yuri gasps in reply and cover .

"Hyewon is sick?! Aishhh that duck really doesn't tell me things... But at the same time I'm busy so she probably told me but I wasnt listening." The girl started rambling to herself. "Why are you asking though? It's new (and weird) for someone to be asking about Hyewon-unnie.... What do you want?"

The fact that the hamster girl called Hyewon as an unnie shows that she's being serious right now and Eunbi can tell by her tone. "I-I kinda was at fault that she got sick. So I want to give her some notes and assignments, plus she left some of her stuff..."

Yuri squints her eyes, the only thing that processed in her mind was that Eunbi was at fault for Hyewon getting sick. "What did yo-"

"Yuri!!!" This was the second time that Eunbi saw a duck waddling/running towards her but for Yuri she sees this in a normal basis. "Oh Eunbi you're here too."

"Yena this girl made our Hyewon-unnie sick!" Yuri points at the older girl as if she did the worst thing on Earth. Sorry for Yuri's behaviour but no one messes with her friend, especially her favorite unnie.

"Calm down Yul, she didn't mean to. I was actually here to tell you about Hyewon, she texted me that she won't go to class today again." Yena says and this just saddens Eunbi, her sickness must be that bad. Yuri immediately apologizes to the older girl and explains to her girlfriend what happened before she came.

"Do you want us to give the stuff to Hyewon for you?" Yena offers, she lets out her hand.

Eunbi shakes her head, "It's ok, I want to give to her myself. Do you perhaps know where she lives?"

The duck nods and tells her the address, "Let's go toge-"ther. Yuri tried to say but her girlfriend just covers , she furrows her eyebrows at Yena's actions.

"You can go after school, me and Yuri would love to go with you but you see we already have plans."

"We do?" Yena steps on the shorter girl's foot in response. "R-right! Sorry Eunbi-unnie but you'll have to go alone."

The bell rang once more signalling the girls to go to their respective classrooms, when Yuri and Yena were walking Yuri questions her girlfriend's actions.

"Why did you lie to her? We totally did not have plans after school; besides, I wanna see hyung!" Yuri whines.

Yena just holds her hand, "Because I think Hyewon likes Eunbi." The statement made Yuri's eyes widen making her look like a cute hamster that Yena couldn't help but gush at her. "Yes. That's why we need to give them some time together."

The younger thinks for awhile, "But is this what Hyewon wants?"

Yena smiles confidently, "It is, Hyewon wants this even if she'll deny it."

"But in the future... Will she regret it?" Yuri had this sad look in her eyes so Yena pinches her cheeks.

"We don't know that. She doesn't know that. Love always has regret but what matters is how we deal with it. Trust me on this, you'll see it when they're together."

______________

Eunbi felt out of place. It's not like she was doing anything weird or wearing bad clothes.... It's just she feels like she should've dressed better because here she was standing in front of a huge and expensive looking house. It was a mansion to her eyes. Eunbi wore a simple yellow shirt and pants, and somehow she doesn't feel worthy to enter.

But it's too late because she already rang the doorbell and is waiting for someone to answer it. After a few more seconds the big door opens and she sees a man (in his 40s?) on the other side. She was so close to saying 'Good afternoon Mr. Kang' but the man bows and ushers her inside.

"I'm sorry but the Young Master is in her room resting. Please state your name and business."

'Young Master?! Who the hell is Kang Hyewon?'

"I'm Kwon Eunbi, Hyewon's classmate. I came because of school.....related stuff." Eunbi mentally punches herself for not knowing how to answer this simple question. "May I see her?"

The man doesn't answer for a while but nods his head in reply. "I see you've also brought something for the Young Miss, please give it to the lady in the kitchen. Wait downstairs before I bring you up." He leaves her to go upstairs, Eunbi looks for kitchen and sees an old lady (also in her 40s?) standing around.

"Excuse me but a man told me to give this to you." Eunbi hands what she brought to the woman, she receives a smile in return. By the time the man returns back, the woman handed Eunbi a tray carrying what she brought.

"Thanks for waiting Ms. Kwon, the Young Miss will see you now. I am Mr. Han, the woman you met is my wife and we are in charge of the staff in the Kang household." He bows once more before bringing Eunbi upstairs to Hyewon's room, she follows quietly holding the tray. Mr. Han stopped walking when they reach the room at the end of the hall, he knocked before entering. Eunbi sees Hyewon lying down on bed asleep, she looked at Mr. Han with an unsure look. Was she supposed to waker her up or something? She doesn't want to disturb her rest. The old helper faked a cough and Hyewon's eyes slowly opened, "I guess I can't fool you Mr. Han."

Hyewon sits up and smiles at the older girl, "Hi Eunbi. Nice to see you?" Eunbi sighs in relief to see the younger girl was doing well, Hyewon then eyes whatever she was holding. "You brought me porridge?" She blinks in surprise.

Eunbi nods, "I kept thinking that it was my fault for making you sick, so I thought it's the least I can do. Oh- I also brought some notes and assignments from school. Did you eat already?"

"The Young Miss, barely eats her food and doesn't drink her medicine." Mr. Han interrupts them that made Eunbi remember that he was still in the room. But that didn't matter, what he said is what matters. Eunbi glares at the sick girl and Hyewon felt like her stares could kill. Eunbi puts the tray down on the table beside Hyewon's bed and puts her hands on her hips.

"I didn't have an appetite?" Hyewon tries to excuse and save herself but they all know that it won't help.

"You. I spent days

It has come to my attention that I may or may not have put a disclaimer: that this story was based on the Toki Doki Manga. I was inspired by it and gotten some parts of the story for my plot. Forgive me for taking late action

Chapter 17: I thought it would be somehow cheesy and fluffy story, but then I WAS ALL WRONG. What the hell. I just found out this story and spent my first tears reading the whole chapters in one day, in 2022 ㅠㅠ i don't why i keep on reading such an angsty story where the main character was so selfless and everything. God, but seriously this is one of amazing story. Everything is perfect except the ending part, i thought that i would be getting happy ending but no ㅠㅠ cleching my heart so tight because it was really hurt ㅠㅠ

Chapter 17: Wow this is the first time I cried hard for a fanfic. This is so sad but the story is overall amazing. Normally, I wouldn't leave a comment on a story and just read it until the end and move on but this is so great. I suspected it on from the second or third chapter(?) But I kept going thinking that I may be wrong. I also thought kangbi endgame but them didn't ending up together is wonderful too(weird but it makes sense). Good job authornim!
