Timeless, Tireless, Endless
Lavender SymphonyStory Context:
- Seungwan and Joohyun as immortals of two different worlds. Inspired by numerous xianxia dramas (ashes of love, ten miles of peach blossom etc)
- A teacher/disciple relationship between immortals
- Perhaps a prequel to a drabble I have written before: Untainted
Seungwan’s heart is as immoveable as a great rock.
Seungwan is as formidable as the forces of the divine beasts combined.
Seungwan is as timeless as this Earth.
Throughout her life, Joohyun has heard of numerous wonders of the great celestial being, Seungwan and it piqued her curiosity. It was a taboo for an Underworlder to mingle with those almighty beings from the Heavenly Realm, even more so for an Underworld princess. Yet, Joohyun had managed to conceal her aura and snuck into the Heavenly realm in hopes of crossing paths with this High Goddess and magnifying her own cultivation.
However, when Joohyun was finally put under the tutelage of the legendary individual, she did not know what she was supposed to expect. The first time they met, Seungwan did not live up to those rumours; she seemed ordinary, so ordinary that one might have passed her by without sparing her a second glance. Seungwan wore no elaborate robes to accentuate her rank in the celestial world, neither does she put up an air that might have hinted at her prowess. In the next three years which Seungwan took to fully recover from her injuries, Joohyun had never once stepped outside of Seungwan’s quarters and devoted herself to caring for Seungwan and healing her.
“Why did you save me?” Joohyun could not stop her tears from flowing as she dabbed the silken hankerchief on Seungwan’s forehead.
An amused smile crept into Seungwan’s face as she replied with ease. “Because it was easy to do, why else?”
“Was it easy? Really? But you… lost a few thousand years of cultivation.” Joohyun said, her voice strained as she tried to hold back her tears.
“A few thousand years of cultivation is nothing,” Seungwan simply said.
When Joohyun was eight thousand years old, Seungwan brought Joohyun into their first war against the emboldened fox tribe who had joined forces with the wolf tribe. It was a battle that had raged on for thousands of years, crippling the Heavenly realm’s troops forces. Known for her habit of abstaining from war affairs, it was only at the Emperor of the Heavenly realm’s bequest that Seungwan aided in this warfare; to end it once and for all.
Troops on either side of the forces trembled with nervousness as the drumbeat heralded the presence of Seungwan who would be com
