Context: Irene and Wendy are divine creatures destined to fulfil a prophecy

Joohyun struggled against the binding spell that was cast upon her. It was strong, too strong. How could she be so foolish as to let her guard down, allowing Seungwan to manipulate her and land herself in such a helpless state. 

Stop trying to undo the magic, you will only hurt yourself.

Seungwan’s voice that was cruelly tender echoed in her mind and Joohyun screamed her response.

You tricked me. How could you?! 

There was a momentous pause before Seungwan’s voice returned to her.

You would have done it yourself. Remember Teacher’s prophecy? 

The Dragon and the Phoenix, as a pair they came into being, as a pair they thrived. 

Inseparable as they were, there will come a day where their duties had to be performed.

The very reason for their existence was to quell the world when the skies split and the earths shook.  

When the mortals call upon their divine prowess, only one may answer and present her life.

The one who answered their prayers may never look back for the only way to save the world was to toss aside all that she owns. 

Tears pooled in Joohyun’s eyes as it was set affixed upon the diminishing figure carried away on the flimsy boat.

How could I ever forget that cursed prophecy. Let me go, at least
