Two
Keeping You
Never an easy thing
"Like how could you allow that to happen, man?!"
He hears Jackson, alright like how can he not? The guy's practically shouting from the moment they both stepped inside his pad. But Mark chose not to mind him. He's been friends with the Chinese long enough to learn that the best thing to do when he's blabbering s is to just ignore the guy and keep quiet.
Jackson finally reached the couch and plopped his body on it. "How careless are you, that you had let yourself fall for Jinyoung?"
Yeah alright.
Ever since that meeting they had with Jinyoung and his boyfriend Jaebum, the moment they left the cafe, Jackson refused to shut his mouth up about this assumption of his, that he- Mark Tuan- has a crush on Jinyoung. Jackson assumed all of this just because he was flustered when he mentioned Jinyoung was coming. He refuses to acknowledge that his cheeks were in fact beet red as Jackson claimed. Other than that, and the times Jackson caught him staring at the couple's entwined hands, what is Jackson's proof?
Mark could do nothing but stare impassively at his bestfriend as he sat beside him. "Jackson you have to calm your s down and shut your mouth up. You're over reacting and I'm hearing this tiny voice in my head saying that you need some whoopin' right now."
He heard Jackson's gasp and now he sees the him with his hands on his chest, eyes wide in pure shock. "I am not over reacting here!" Another exasperated sigh escaped Mark's lips as he rested his back on the couch. He's growing tired every minute but Jackson is still at it. "How do you expect me calm down when my bestfriend is about to head on a crash just because he had let himself fall in love with a taken man?"
"I am not in love with Jinyoung."
"Yet." Jackson quickly added making him grunt in frustration.
"Your mind is messing with you, Jackson."
"Uh huh. You're still denying this, I see."
Now Mark couldn't help it, so he stood up with his arms crossed on his chest. "You know all of this shouldn't have happened if only you told me that Jinyoung already has Jaebum in his life. If you told me that, when the three of us first hanged out, then you won't be here, nagging at me like an old lady." Mark sighed frustratedly as he ruffled his hair. He walked towards the door, opened it and faced the chinese. "Right now I want nothing else but to sleep so if you don't mind, get the hell out of my apartment and let me live in peace."
Jackson did stand up and made his way towards the door but stopped to look at him for a second.
"So you really do like him."
Well . "Jackson I swear-" But Jackson was already running outside before Mark could even lay his hands on him.

Class has just ended and it's only 4 in the afternoon. Mark still has his last class an hour after. He thought of meeting with his friends while he's on his break. He texted them and they decided to meet at the cafeteria.
Mark is on his way there now.
"Hey, Mark!"
But he was stopped by that familiar voice which just called him. When Mark turned, he was met by that smiling face which he likes seeing. The raven haired was waving his hand at him as he walked to reach his spot. Now, they're standing face to face in the middle of the corridors.
"Oh, hi Jinyoung." He opted to greet, stopping his hand from scratching the back of his head. If Jackson sees him acting like this, he's dead sure the chinese won't let him live it down. Jackson will surely never shut up about him being in love with Jinyoung even though he's in a relationship with Jaebum.
Wait a minute, speaking of the guy... "Where is Jaebum?" Mark asked as he looked behind Jinyoung.
He already knows that Jaebum is also attending the same university as them. Jackson has gone that far, telling him about all he knows about the couple's relationship. He even told him that they've been together for two years now, as if he wanted to know that.
Jinyoung fixed his glass and put his hands on his pockets. "He's busy." It came with a slight shrug. "He's always busy, being part of the swimming team and all."
Mark just nodded before Jinyoung talked again. "I actually went up to you just to ask if you're going to attend tonight's session? I'll be discussing about chemical bonding and I really prepared for it."
That smile Jinyoung has brings Mark back to that night when he first saw him, smiling just as how he is smiling right now. That smile which made him thank god Jackson wouldn't hear him fall for the younger.
"Hey, Mark?" Okay. Mark knows he's done for. He shook his head mentally and refocused back on Jinyoung who is waving his hand in front of his face.
"Oh I'm sorry, I just... thought of something."
"Well, okay." Jinyoung said, pursing his lips. "So, as I was asking, will I see you in tonight's session?"
"Y-yeah. Sure."
