Despite being a princess, Hyejoo was a rebel. Despite the countless times her mother Sooyoung, Queen of Bulmyeongryo, warned her from going near sunlight, she still liked to watch the sunrise, almost every morning, secretly sneaking in the shadows to see that magnificent view the other dusk pixies feared.

She sat on the edge of a log, admiring how the sun used its rays as paint brushes, painting the mountain peaks in a golden shade of orange, painting the trees with its palette of warmth.

As the sun rose higher in the sky, it caused the shadow sheltering Hyejoo to dwindle. Hyejoo slipped off the log and took a few steps back, knowing it was time to leave, still facing the sun that shone brightly behind the wisps of cloud that slightly obscured it, glowing in the lilac sky.

Hyejoo tripped on a root protruding from the ground, and fell backwards hitting the tree it belonged to, letting out a small 'oof!' The clouds wandered away, leaving the sun in all its glory, with a beam of light burning the tip of Hyejoo's shimmery wing.

Hyejoo yelped and flapped her wings, trying to cool it off, in the same manner a person would wave their hand in the air after burning their finger on a hot stove. She moved behind the tree before caressing her poor wing, examining her mild injury.

She was about to leave, determined to take care of her burn, when she heard an unfamiliar voice calling out in the distance.

'Hello? Is anyone there?'
