Something Money Can Never Buy - A Sequel

“Appa knows both of you are madly in love with each other. And I hope you can cherish my daughter, Yoona. Just as much as I cherish Seohyun’s Amma.”

Yoona and Seohyun glanced at each other and when their eyes met they quickly looked down. Feeling slightly embarrassed by what Taeyeon had said.
Tiffany who was there as well witnessed the cute scene, smile and said,

“No need to be shy. Being in love is like the best feeling in the world. You feel like you’re flying high without a care in the world and when you’re down nothing beats a warm hug from the one you love. The frown disappeared and a smile is formed.” 
Tiffany shifted her gaze to Taeyeon and their eyes met.

Taeyeon was talking to the two lovebirds but her eyes stayed on Tiffany. 

“Every day you want to see her and every night you want to dream about her.” Taeyeon said her hand found Tiffany’s and she intertwined their hands together. She continued never leaving her gaze,
“You’re restless when you didn’t see her but you feel contented once your eyes identified the familiar figure you love most although it would just be a glimpse of her. You watched her from across the room. How you love the way she smile, the way she merrily talks to her friends and the way she would laugh. You don’t know anyone else who could mesmerised you with the simplest thing they do like she can. You know deep down how you never want to part ways with her.”
With that said Taeyeon reminisced when she and Tiffany were still dating.

It took both of us a good hour before we finally say bye on the phone.

“Bye, Yepeuni. Love you. Muah.”

“Bye, Taetae. Love you too. Muah.”

“…..”

“…..”

“Why aren’t you hanging up?”

“Why aren’t you?”

“Well, you first.”

“No. You first.”

And it goes over and over again for both of us. Until I finally hung up because I know Tiffany’s too stubborn to do so. 

Then Yoona spoke and made Taeyeon snapped back into reality.

“Obviously Appa is still madly in love with Fany-amma. Keke” Yoona laughed showing off her alligator mouth. 

This choding is a copy image of Yuri. Loves to tease and pull pranks. 
Taeyeon thought. Wait what did she called me?

“Yah! Did I say you can call me Appa? I didn’t give you any permission. Go back to your room, Seohyun.” Taeyeon then glared at Yoona and said, “I won’t let you go on a date with my daughter, tonight.”

Yoona and Seohyun’s expressions turn sour. Seohyun knows her Appa is very protective of her and she hoped that slowly her Appa will approve of Yoona. And the fact that she gave her permission to go out on a date tells Seohyun that her Appa is opening up to Yoona.

“Don’t mind your Appa. Come both of you.” Tiffany ushered Yoona and Seohyun out the door.
“You kids have fun watching movie, alright.”

The two new lovebirds nodded and Taeyeon looked to Yoona and outlined the rules to date her teenage daughter.
“Remember, to always stay safe and must be home by midnight. Kissing is a big NO NO and Yoona don’t dare touch my baby girl. Seohyun if she made you uncomfortable IN ANY WAY,” Taeyeon emphasized and continued, “…tell Appa and I’ll CUT this choding into pieces.” 
The threat left Yoona’s body tensed and she gulped because she was scared.

Tiffany rolled her eyes and said, “Taeyeon-appa, no need to be so dramatic.”

She then turned to Yoona and Seohyun and signalled them to go. Tiffany had to drag Taeyeon into the house so she won’t ruin Seohyun’s date. Taeyeon could only watch from her window as her baby girl walked hand in hand with the choding. She didn’t like it but as a good parent Taeyeon knows she had to let Seohyun go…. one day.

“Look at that, Taetae. They’re so in love.”

“Hmmph.” Taeyeon scoffed. Does that choding know what being in love actually meant or feel like?

Taeyeon knows bliss is what you feel. Even if the world would end you don’t care because you have her. Yes, you have her in your arms. You love the warmth when your body pressed on hers. Another memory flashed at the back of her mind.

I love how Tiffany s her arms around my waist and she would rest her head on my left chest. She closed her eyes and hears my heart beating. 

“I can never get tired listening to your heart beat. It’s my favourite music.” She said to me.

“Nah, I think your Lady Gaga’s beats are better. Mine…it’s all over the place.”

“That’s what I love about it.”

“Really? Why?”

She looked up to me and said, “Because it mirrored mine.”

And I have the widest grin on my face. Knowing for a fact that she loves me as much as I do.

It never ceases to amaze Taeyeon when you’re in love. You’d find how amazing it is that your fingers would instinctively look for its other half and grab hold of it. You held on her hand tightly. You never want to let go. Not even for a while.

“Taetae-ah, let go of my hand. I need to go to work.”

“Awww…can’t you wait a little while longer. Your Shikshin boss is not back yet.” I gave her a pout. 

She knows I hate acting all cute let alone showing off my aegyo and for that effort it earned me another 5 more minutes.

“Oh, alright.” She gave in.

My heart jumped in joy even though it’s only 5 minutes but that 5 minutes was all I need. I held on Tiffany’s hand and placed it on my chest and once in a while I would give it a soft kiss. There were no words spoken but our hearts seemed to understand what the other was trying to convey. 

When you’re in love, you love how her breath tickles whenever she whispers words into your ear. Sometimes she would tease you by nibbling and nipping your earlobe. You can’t help but be flustered. Because you love it and she knows it. She knows how to drive you crazy and wild.

Tiffany would let out a little laugh whenever she notices my face turns into a hue of red. 

“You’re a tease, Fany-ah.”

“Oh? Am I?”

“Yes, you are and do you know how frustrating it is?”

“I do.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, because you frustrates me as well, Kim Taeyeon.”

“Huh?”

“You frustrate me because you rarely say ‘I Love You’. Sometimes you are so slow to understand that all I want was for you to kiss me…”

Tiffany cupped my face and made me turned to face her.

“…like this.” And she crashed her lips onto mine. It was a long and passionate kiss. We were letting out the emotions that we had been suppressing all this time. 

There were times when you feel like you’re a superhero because she’s your damsel in distress. You would always come to her rescue. For her you became strong like Superman, senses her despair like Spiderman and handy like Batman. If this was a movie, your freakish love for her earns you an invitation into the Leagues of Extraordinary Gentlemen and you joined the team of X-Men. Saving the world by day but turns cute and mellow when you’re home at night because she’s your Powerpuff Girl. 

“Taetae, you’re my superhero!”

“Tsk. You said the same thing to Yuri.” 

“Omo? Is my Taetae jealous?”

I crossed my arms and looked to the left not wanting to make any eye contact with her.

She encircles her arms on my neck and start to peck on my cheek.

“Yes, I did say Yuri’s my hero but Taetae you’re my superhero.”

“It’s still the same thing.” I said and rolled my eyes.

“No, it’s not.” She continued pecking my cheek.

“Yuri just killed one bug for me. You killed a million. Yuri didn’t notice if I had something troubling my mind. You on the other hand realised it instantly. And Yuri was never there when I needed her but you do. You’re always there when my heart called on you. I believe you have superpowers for your great ability to understand me. You are my superhero.” 

There were times too when Taeyeon feel like the biggest loser in the world. Taeyeon hates it when she had a fight with Tiffany. Taeyeon finds herself restless. 
You can’t sleep at night because you can’t erase the hurt expression on her face when you let her down. It hurts more when you see a tear slid down her cheek. The one single tear confirms that you were guilty as charged. Guilty for breaking a Mushroom’s heart. The heart that she entrusted you to care and to hold. But you were careless and the heart slips from your grasp. Fortunately, you manage to recapture her heart before it falls to the cold ground and shatter into a million of tiny pieces. Then you made a promise to yourself that never again will you handle this fragile heart of hers carelessly. This time you’ve learned your lesson and you’re going to hold it tight and secure. Because there’s only one Mushroom in this world and Taeyeon not about to let her go.

It was raining heavily and I ran up to her. I hugged her from behind and no matter how much she struggled to free herself I’m not going to loosen my grip.

“I’m sorry, Fany-ah.”

She didn’t answer me. All I can feel is her body trembling cold and heaving because of her cries. It pains me to see her hurt like this and I know it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have walked Jessica home and I should have said no when she invites me in. I couldn’t help but fallen for the temptation of the captivating ice princess. It was such a stupid mistake. One stupid mistake that jeopardizes the relationship we built together. I know I love her; No. I’m sure I love her and I’m sure she is the one for me. No more will you cry like this Tiffany because I’m yours.

“Fany-ah, I know I made a mistake. A really stupid mistake. And I am truly sorry.”I whispered to her ear.

“Jessica means nothing to me, Fany-ah. She’s history. An old chapter in my book. It’s just-..”

“Just ? Is that it? Wow, Taeyeon what a way to make your former girlfriend feel better. You showered her with attention and certainly you responded to her needs. Jessica must feel so lucky to have an ex like you.” Tiffany said sarcastically. 

I was at a loss for words. Tiffany then turned around to face me and I could see in her eyes this fuming anger.

“Not only you made me look like a fool but it seemed I’m no fun in bed either.”

Tiffany pushed me and I stumbled. She ran as hard as she could but tripped because the night was dark and the pavement was slippery. When I finally caught up to her, I held her in my arms. She tries to break free but I was too strong and she eventually gave in. She cried hard on my shoulder and her hand would hit me.

“I – I hate you!” She said in between sobs.

“I love you.” I said.

“I hate you more!”

“I love you even more.”

“I hate you more than you can imagine!”

“I love you for infinity.”

I lost all sense of time. I don’t know for how long we were in that position but when I feel the younger girl became calmer I loosened my embrace and gave her kiss on the cheek. I’m determined to let her know that I am committed towards our relationship and so out of pure spontaneity I asked,

“Will you marry me?”

“Wh – what?” I could see she was taken aback by my sudden question.

“Marry me, Fany.”

“……..”

“Will you?” I was scared she’d say no because she’s taking too long to answer.

“No.” My fear was confirmed but I am not going to give up that easily. 

If she didn’t want to marry me, I’d make her to.

“Say you will, Fany-ah or else.”

“Or what?” She said not convinced with my threat.

“Or it’d be the death of me and it’s all your fault.”

I got up and went straight to the middle of the road. I stood there and I saw her shocked expression. 

“Yah! What are you doing? Are you insane?!”

Then a white light coming from a car shone at us. She saw in horror as the car was approaching me and fast. She kept on yelling and pleaded that I got off the road but I stood my ground. I will not leave until she said yes.

“Oh my God, Taetae! Get off the road!”

“Not until you say yes!” I screamed at her back.

“ Are you crazy? Just get off the road!”

“NO!”

The car was approaching fast and since it was raining heavily the driver must’ve not seen me. In addition to that I was wearing a black leather jacket and dark blue jeans. The driver may still unable to identify a petite figure was standing at the middle of the road. And that’s probably why the car did not slow down. I looked at the horrified Tiffany and yelled,

“Just like I said it’d be the death of me and all y-…”

Before I could finish she quickly interrupted.

“I will! I will! Get off the road, NOW!”

I ran as fast as lightning. Fast enough to dodge the oncoming car and when I reached the side of the road I quickly have her in my arms. It was easy this time because she laid out her hand and reached for me. We hugged each other tightly for a moment before she whispered,

“Are you crazy? Do you really want to die? Do you really want to leave me alone? Why are you so stupid?” She said and I could hear her faint sobs in my ear.

“Yes, I’m crazy for you. No, I don’t want to die and never want to leave you alone. And I do stupid things because I’m so in love with you.”

Taeyeon smiled at the memories. She knows in a way Tiffany was somewhat coerced to marry her but she never regretted her actions and silently, she gave herself a pat in the back for a mission accomplished. Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder and when she turns around her wife was giving her an eyesmile. The eyesmile she adores very much. 

Tiffany was about to speak when all of a sudden lips crashed onto hers. Nibbling and tugging her bottom lip. She returned the same favour on Taeyeon’s upper lip. Then Taeyeon broke the deep kiss and gave Tiffany a chaste kiss to end it. 

“Okay…” Tiffany said feeling a bit weird for Taeyeon’s sudden kiss but she just shrugged it off.

“You’ve been staring out the window for far too long and I can assure you they have long gone.”

Taeyeon didn’t give any feedback. She just stares at her wife and loved the sight she saw. Tiffany wore a modest looking dress. Not too revealing but just enough to accentuate her beauty. The living room lighting gave her wife a wonderful golden hue. Taeyeon slowly walked up to Tiffany gave her another loving kiss. She took Tiffany’s hand and gently placed a soft kiss. Tiffany who was dumbfounded by Taeyeon’s sudden display of affection starts to worry that something might be bothering Taeyeon.

“Is there anything wrong, Taetae?”

Taeyeon looked at her wife lovingly and said,

“No. Nothing’s wrong. In fact, everything’s perfect. Just perfect.”


Taeyeon swiftly picked her wife up bridal style and placed her on the sofa. She positioned herself above her and studied Tiffany’s facial features. She traced the outlines of Tiffany’s face and although she had done this countless times before it seemed it was never enough and often times she felt like she saw Tiffany’s beautiful face like for the first time. Taeyeon placed soft kisses where Tiffany’s moles situated. One kiss on the left side corner of her cheek, going down to place another kiss on the left side of Tiffany’s chin and finally it ends with one on the crook of Tiffany’s right neck. Taeyeon lingers on the neck and nipping on Tiffany’s soft skin. Tiffany yelp when she bit her a little too hard but Taeyeon quickly eases the pain by on the affected skin. Taeyeon breathe in deep and smelt her wife’s alluring scent. The familiar smell of strawberry from her hair gave Taeyeon a sense of contentment because it was the same scent she remembered their first night together as a newlywed. And look where they are now after 17 years. Happily married, blessed with a beautiful child and still going strong. Taeyeon looked up and their eyes met. Taeyeon traced the outlines of her wife’s eyes and notices a few wrinkles had formed. It seemed age had caught up to Tiffany but Taeyeon never thought less instead she thought Tiffany had mature gracefully. She was beautiful then and now she’s even more beautiful. Taeyeon couldn’t help but to compliment.

“You are absolutely beautiful.” Taeyeon said.

Flattered at Taeyeon’s remark Tiffany took the hand that was tracing her face and gave a kiss on the palm and another at the back of Taeyeon’s hand. She then placed Taeyeon’s hand on her left chest and said,

“You are here. Inside my heart, always.”

“And so do you.”

Taeyeon leaned in and gave her wife’s a peck. Still holding on to Tiffany’s hand she now placed it on her left chest. And like always Tiffany would close her eyes to better feel and listen to Taeyeon’s heart beat.

“I’m never going to get tired of this.”

“I know, Tiffany.” She knows that for sure because Tiffany would always say the same thing every time she listens to her heart.

Tiffany then leaned towards Taeyeon and gave her a kiss. Taeyeon proceeded to kiss Tiffany’s jaw line and the kisses made its voyage down to Tiffany’s collarbone. The love they have for each other always leave them longing for one’s touch. They fought like any normal couple would but they always find themselves in each other’s arms. The cold night slowly turned steamy as two figures dances along with the rhythm of love. Singing out heavenly moans and giggles could also be heard echoing and hitting the walls. Together they sailed a sea of discarded clothing. They climbed up and down the two twinned mountains and finally sailed down the milky white stomach straight down to the core. Once they entered the core, they were overwhelmed with the feeling of ecstasy. The feeling reached its threshold as they both exploded and like a lit up rocket they took off into the stratosphere. The two figures lay exhausted as they ended their little adventure.

Taeyeon managed to gather her strength and positioned herself on top of Tiffany. Tiffany was still panting and trying to control her breathing. Taeyeon gave Tiffany a chaste kiss and Tiffany’s drenched hair. They just stare into each other’s eyes and Taeyeon pressed her forehead on Tiffany’s.

“I love you.”
Usually it would be Tiffany who uttered the words but this time around Taeyeon wanted to be the first. She wants to see her wife’s smiling and contented face. Sure enough Tiffany gave Taeyeon her adorable eyesmile.

“I love you too.” She replied.

Taeyeon sealed those words with another long and passionate kiss.

Little did they know two pair of eyes accidently saw them kissing one another and on the floor. Shocked by the scene they darted out and slammed the door shut. Yoona and Seohyun awkwardly stand beside each other and the silence was killing them. Then Yoona’s mind starts to wonder if she could ever score home with Seohyun. It must’ve shown in her erted face when suddenly Seohyun said,

“Don’t even think about it.”

“Th – think o – of what? I – I didn’t think of anything.”

“I don’t want to talk about it. So stop, alright.”

Again awkward silence.

Yoona was amazed of how Seohyun was able to act calm after what she had witnessed. Other girls would just scream and maybe even traumatized by the scene. But not Seohyun and this really fascinates Yoona. Yoona find Seohyun in some ways mysterious. Yoona’s instinct told her that there’s a lot more going on inside despite her angelic features. 

This was the third time Seohyun encountered her parents love sessions. At first she was shocked but the second time around she just casually shrugged it off. Even though she would cringe at the image of her sweaty parents making out but deep down she was happy for them. After all these years they still passionately love one another.

Tiffany noticed they were chit chats coming from outside the door. She quickly pushed Taeyeon aside and put on her clothing. Confused Taeyeon looked at her wife for answers.

“Put on your clothes, Tae. They’re back.”

With that revelation she quickly put on her clothes and they fixed their messed up hair.

Outside Yoona inched closer to Seohyun and held her hand.

“I think you should go home now. Your parents would be worried.”

Yoona just nodded. It was clear on her face that she wants to stay but she wouldn’t want her Seobaby to be mad at her. So with heavy steps she starts to leave. Yoona almost reached at the gates of Kim residence before Seohyun stopped her.

“Yoona, wait!”

Seohyun ran to her and stopped right in front of her. She then leaned in and gave Yoona a soft kiss.

It was their first kiss and Yoona can’t help but to smile ear to ear all the way back to her house.

When Seohyun entered her house, her Appa was already waiting at the door and ready to bombard her with questions. But before her Appa can say anything Seohyun said,

“Before you say anything, Appa. I would like to suggest for the both of you to have your intimate moments in a secured and secluded place or room. Not in the bathroom with door wide open nor in the car inside the garage with the car making annoying squeaky noises and definitely not in the living room without a single strand of thread on your body. Now if you’d excuse me I need to go to sleep since I have extra-curricular activities at school tomorrow.”

Taeyeon and Tiffany just watched their daughter went up the stairs. Both of them were speechless. Then they felt incredibly embarrassed with themselves because their daughter saw them doing it not once but three times. So much for protecting Seohyun’s innocence. Thank goodness Seohyun way of thinking matured beyond her age. Taeyeon and Tiffany looked at each other and smile. It turned out they were the ones acting childish. Next time around they made sure it would be a secured and secluded place. They weren’t sure if the closet fits Seohyun’s suggestion but they were too busy to even bother reviewing the suggestion. Undeniably love makes you do stupid things.
