Chapter 10

‘Aren’t you lucky, A crowned prince dropping you off in the morning.’ Baekhyun turned to the person, they thought they had been discreet about it, ‘if only I was so lucky, Must be amazing been married to a prince, Why won’t you tell me....‘ Kyungsoo continued to pout at Baekhyun cutie. ‘Guess you found your prince charming already... at least I won’t have you as competition with Mr y I’m hoping he my prince charming. He’s head turning in the direction he wants to look at he really has a nice don’t you think.’ 

‘I haven't looked,’  

‘Don’t know what you're missing,’ He smirked, ‘He’s something nice to look at on shift, not that I don’t like the bags and puffy skin you have.’ Baekhyun touched his face.  

‘You know you’ll get in trouble if you keep blurting these out thing like that, ual harassment in the work like.  

‘Come on he’ll dig it...’ Kyungsoo almost choked on his own words when someone came up behind them. ‘Don’t you have some where to be.’ He looked to Kyungsoo. Kyungsoo took the chart from Baekhyun before heading toward the wards. ‘Park Park.....’ he called again catching Baekhyun attention, Can you take a look at the kid that was brought in through emergency. ‘she complaining about pains in her side, .’ Baekhyun got up from he was sitting. ‘Come find me once done.’ Baekhyun nodded.  

Baekhyun pulled back the curtain to one of the beds in the ER to reveal a small little girl with her father. ‘Hi, I’m Dr Park.’ He greeted his eyes focusing on the young patient. ‘And who is this? What’s your name?’ 

‘Hyori...’ she spoke softly, Baekhyun could barely hear her but he moved closer taking her hand. 

‘What a pretty name?’ Baekhyun spoke to her, ‘Do you think you can tell me where you feel pain.’ she pointed to him the area. ‘When did the pain start?’ her father spoke to Baekhyun who nodded. ‘Do you mind if I feel your tummy.’ Baekhyun moved his hands around her belly. ‘You did amazing.’ Baekhyun wrote something onto the chart. 

‘What’s wrong with her...?’ her father asked. 

‘Looks like it maybe appendicitis.’ Baekhyun answered. ‘Can you be a brave little girl for a moment longer; She nodded. Baekhyun paged Doctor Kim It didn’t take long when he arrived Baekhyun explained. Doctor Kim confirmed doing a second check, ‘Book an OR, we need to remove it as soon as possible. Baekhyun couldn’t help but notice tears in the little girl's eye. Baekhyun couldn’t help but take hand. ‘Don’t be scared, were going to take care of you.  And when you get back, I'm going to prescribe you the biggest bowl of Ice-cream, with Appa approval first,’ Baekhyun looked to her Father and then giving the little girl a smile. 

Baekhyun felt the buzz of the pager holding it up, Paging Dr Park.... Paging Park Baekhyun... You have a call line four.’   Baekhyun looked to Doctor Kim. ‘You may go, Good work Doctor Park. Please join me in Surgery as soon as Hyori is prep for surgery. Baekhyun couldn’t believe it.  He wanted to asked, ‘really but instead, ‘Yes Doctor Kim.’ This would be his firsts day in his father footsteps. He went to the nurse station reaching for the phone. His double shifted ended with Doctor Kim complimenting on his performance during surgery.  ‘Go home get some rest.
