Donghae watches his grown kids chase each other on the sand dunes. They were laughing, and pushing each other to the receding waves. Hyukjin trips, and Dongwan helps him meet the water by pushing his back. Eunhae bursts out laughing, throwing her head back and cackling like there's no tomorrow. Jihwan lifts Eunhae to his shoulder and spins her around. Donghae hears her protest, but the others cheered as Jihwan makes his way towards the cold water.

Jihwan throws Eunhae in, and he dives after her. He scoops her in his arms and pecked her lips. Her siblings made disgusted, throwing-up sounds.

"Okay, but like, I'm sure you've done it with your boyfriend!" Eunhae retorts towards Dongwan.

Dongwan gasps, faking to be offended. "Noona!"

The sea crashes into itself, folding and surfacing, only to join together wildly. The sun sits amicably on the clouds, chasing every dark shadow away. Donghae takes a deep breath, and lets himself smile. He wishes that Hyukjae could see this sight. He would've loved it.

They were suppose to grow old together, to watch each other's hair turn white, to hold each other's fraying hands full of sun spots and wrinkles. There were still so much for them to talk about, or argue and just bask into each other's comfortable silence. Everything felt so right when they were beside each other.

He remembers the day that he first kissed Hyukjae. The skies were crying that day, and they were driving through the rain with little visibility. Donghae had convinced him to drive all the way to Mokpo, on a whim, and also because he missed his family. Hyukjae did not complain, even though he said otherwise in broadcast. They had stopped at a rest area, and they ran to get some snacks. The gray clouds barked, almost shaking the ground, but Donghae did not mind the storm. He grabs Hyukjae's hand, and together they raced back to the car, and suddenly, they were all over each other, lips to lips, their breaths becoming one as they lost themselves into that moment.

They were so scared then, but they learned to hold each other up. Donghae held on to him, and had long made up his mind to never leave him. It was so unexpected that Hyukjae had to be the one to go, since they were suppose to have all the time in the world to love each other. He misses him so much. Everyday, there is a space beside him, and Donghae thinks that he is losing hi

Chapter 22: You said that we should upvote if we shed a tear referring to a certain chapter near the finale, but I had a knot in my throat since chapter 2. So when I read all the story I was shedding more than one tear T-T
I usually feel emotional reading or watching well written stories, but it's very rare of me to cry because of them. And I'm convinced that happened not only because you told sad events, but because your wonderful narration made us see simple, intimate moments between lovers or family like the real treasures they are. Some of us can relate in some way to Donghae and Hyukjae's struggles, or value much more our loved ones, but I'm sure everyone was impacted in one way or another by this story. Thank you very much for it ♡

Chapter 22: I'm obviously stalking all your fics but my heart is just so overwhelmed and I'm hiding under my blanket cause I'm full out crying after reading that epilogue. I didn't miss that greys anatomy reference though and I thought that was a really great inclusion haha...I thought three chapters before the end that Eunhae's thoughts in italics might be her eulogy to Eunhyuk and that just made me cry more thinking about it. That was a lovely family and it was full of love that I can't help myself. I'm just a sap and if this was a movie I would buy the DVD and watch it in theaters a dozen times lol

That ending was painful in the most beautiful way possible <3 Thank you!

Chapter 22: There's a note saying that, "Upvote if you shed tears". I need to upvote then.
But, seriously, this story is well-written. I never knew Donghae's lyrics in Lost is for Hyukjae. Sometimes I think when they wrote songs and said they are about Hyukjae/Donghae, I really think they meant that.
Whether is platonic love or real love, only they know the truth. I hope fans especially ELF can support them and Super Junior regardless their decision related to their own personal life. They all in their 30's anyway. They should date and get married, having Super Junior's juniors and enjoy their life. Kekeke
