Chapter 15
Baby, We'll Be AlrightMilking out her blood could be the proper phrase to describe her situation. Eunhae has given all that she could and then some more. While she blends in easily, and can survive in variety shows (thanks to her genius of a father), it feels like she is losing every part of her. In talk shows, they bring up her appearance a lot, and sometimes it makes her hate her single eyelids at times. She keeps on a smile though, and gives variety another chance. She can be known as a funny person. No need to be a .
“Who’s the most closed off member?” The host asks.
All of her members points at her.
Eunhae gives a shy smile. “Me?”
Jihwan nods, but he knows that Eunhae doesn’t want the spotlight. So he takes it upon himself to explain. “Eunice is just a naturally secretive person. She doesn’t tell anyone anything unless you really ask her.”
The host looks at the cue cards. “Does she tell the members any secrets?”
The other members shake their heads.
Jinhee brings her mic to . “It’s really hard to tell when she’s upset. She’s always very cheerful.”
The host turns to Eunhae. “It must be very hard.”
“Sometimes, but I know my members will always have my back,” Eunhae replies. Finally, the host drops the subject.

Eunhae is afraid to call her parents. She is afraid of talking too much or too little and telling them lies. She ends up staring at her parents’ phone numbers, or rereading their last texts. Why is it suddenly so hard for her? She’s always able to come to them and confide with them. Is it because they would immediately know what she’s going through? Would they ask her to come back? And would she?
Eunhae sighs, and presses the tip of her phone on her forehead.
“Give me that,” Jihwan says out of nowhere. He grabs it, and presses the call button.
Eunhae glares at him. “Get out of my business.”
The ringing stops, and Eunhae hears her father’s soft voice.
“Lee Eunhaek? It’s 2am here,” he says. “Are you okay?”
Her other members shoots her curious looks. First of all, who is Lee Eunhaek?
Eunhae quickly brings the phone to her ear. “Appa, I’m sorry.”
“No, don’t be,” Hyukjae yawns. “What’s up?”
“Nothing, I just...miss you,” Eunhae replies. She shoots Jihwan an uncertain look. “I’m sorry I haven’t been calling.”
“I understand,” her father says in a gentle voice. Eunhae leans into that comfort, allowing it to envelope her like a hug. “Hyukjin got an award today, and Eunmi is excelling in ballet. As for your twin brothers, they’re trying to start a band.”
Eunhae chuckles. “Tell them I miss them so much. Also, Eunmi can have some of my things, she can pick what she wants.”
“How are you? I saw your recent broadcast.”
“I’m good, I think I got your sense for variety.”
Hyukjae chuckles. “I see. You’re a very funny girl, but I think you’re best at dancing.”
“I’ve gotten better haven’t I?”
“Maybe you can work harder.”
Eunhae laughs and shakes her head. This is what she needed. “Appa, my first check is about to come. I’ll go home then, okay? It’s yours.”
“No, it’s your money.”
