Jongdae knew that he shouldn’t be doing this, that it downgraded him into a low-level creep, that watching people in their sleep is really not something a good person like himself should do, especially not to a girl he has a relationship with, but still he found himself doing exactly that, watching her while she slept.
After her food frenzy, and their never ending conversation, Mina finally succumbed to sleep on the couch she had preoccupied alone after kicking everyone else from it so she could stretch her legs and arms all over it. The boys agreed to leave the couch for her only because they hoped she’d fall asleep, since she had been yawning and rubbing on her eyes throughout their get-together but refused to sleep when Suho told her to. So now when she really did sleep, all by herself while listening to another funny story Yixing was sharing, Jongdae couldn’t help but look at her, ignoring the quiet buzz of everyone’s sounds around him.
She was holding his arm while she slept, an unconscious action of hers. He had reached for her forehead to brush her hair away, but she took hold of his arm and hugged it closer to her chest, so she could rest her temple on his bicep. Of course she did all of that while she was unconscious, since she was sleeping, but Jongdae couldn’t help but blush to the roots of his ears. Her s were on his arm and he couldn’t not feel them, especially with how round they were or how softly they were rubbing on his exposed skin. Jongdae felt the already hot and throbbing blush on his cheeks grow and he leaned his chin over his free arm which he laid beside her on the couch, so he became extra close, a smell of tender roses and wild perfume wafting through his nose.
Jongdae thought she was too pretty. He always thought she was pretty, but her beauty became over-prominent now that she meant something special to him. It’s weird how your meaning to things and people changes your views on them. Jongdae was liking how she became in his head, this beautiful flower he could feel his body reacting positively to. Mina had always been important to him but she wasn’t the threatening type of important, he could had lived without her before but now, the thought of not having her beside him seemed scary. He shook his head to throw the negative thoughts away. Why should he think about whether she’d be there with him throughout his life? He was sure she’d always be there then just like how she always is now.
“She’ll drop my arm once she’s hot in like, two minutes, watch her.” Jongdae found himself commenting out loud, wiggling the arm she was hugging close in emphasis. Mina let out a sleepy moan because her pillow was moving and it wasn’t comfortable, wherein Jongdae laughed, the sound soft and small so he wouldn’t wake her up. His words, plus his laughter, brought everyone’s conversation to a halt. Jongdae also felt someone’s heat hovering over him, a warm hand falling down his left shoulder.
“She fell asleep? In this noise?” Jongdae heard Suho say, and the boy didn’t turn around or away from Mina’s cute, sleepy pout. He smiled at her gesture, lips resembling a sly cat but still flashing with gentleness that someone who knew him would easily notice.
“She wouldn’t usually sleep in such a crowded place, but I’m guessing the phone call with her dad tired her out.” Commented Jongdae regarding Suho’s question. The Alpha pulled his hand away from Jongdae’s shoulder, taking a few steps back toward his previous seat.
“Maybe we should block him, you know, from her phone so he wouldn’t be able to call.” Sehun’s lavishly smug comment made everyone groan, and Minseok, who was sitting under the couch he was occupying, flicked his leg off with his fingers. The youngest only chuckled off.
“Are you kidding me? He’s her father.” Yixing said, stunned with the provocatively stupid suggestion of Sehun. But that wasn’t that surprising, Sehun tended to suggest equally stupid things from the peanut-sized brain inside his head. It didn’t mean Yixing could ever get used to that.
“I don’t see your point,” Sehun cleared his throat, taking his dangling legs away from Minseok’s reach so he didn’t get himself flicked again. It was just a flick, but Minseok wasn’t just a man. He was a super-man. “He’s her father but he doesn’t act like one. Maybe he doesn’t deserve to be one too.”
“Okay, Sehun, don’t bring your family issue into hers,” Minseok rolled his eyes painfully slow, and those who were watching winced. They felt that alright, right in the middle of their forehead. “You know her father is not like yours.” He was a bit rude with how indifferent he was when talking about Sehun’s relationship with his father, but none of the boys were offended, it was Minseok’s personality. However, Sehun couldn’t help but narrow his eyes at the older guy, in spite of knowing the type person Minseok was.
“That’s not what I meant, Minseok. I never said anything about my fa—“
“You didn’t, but we all know your hate for her father stems from your hate to yours.” Minseok interrupted, searching with his eyes for a dangling leg he could flick. Finding none, he slouched back, huffing. Sehun opened his mouth to retort again, but Suho raised his hand and all conversations ceased to a stop.
“Don’t fight, it’s not the right time for that.”
Sehun merely grumbled.
“What should we do about her mom though?” Kai murmured from his position beside Minseok, rising from his sitting position and crossing his legs under him. Suho raised his brows at him curiously.
“Why should we do anything?”
“Seriously Hyung?” Baekhyun widened his eyes in disbelieve and Jongdae so slowly took his arm out of Mina’s grip not to wake her. She was beginning to heat up anyway, a line of sweat quickly building up around her hairline. When he took his hand back to him, he turned to watch the commotion between the rest. “You’re just going to let this thing go?” Baekhyun finished, eyes still round in ridicule.
“What is there for us to do?” Suho asked, looking around at everyone to see if they all were thinking the same, that he should do something. “It’s her father’s problem, it’s his choice. If we could do something, if she could do something, she wouldn’t have hesi
