Mina was groaning, walking around her college with her lazy legs barely holding her weight, dragging them behind her like deadly chicken wings. In her grasp, there were a bunch of small books the size of a notebook, but she still made it look like she was holding a sag of rocks, not books. Exaggeration was her middle name for a reason.

Fortunately for her and her comical appearance, none of the business department people were focusing on her or laughing at her. She figured most of them already know of her as Jongin and Sehun’s friend, which put her under a red line sort of thing, to be utterly respected. The perks of having insanely hot best friends. She swore one of the girls even winked at her, purposefully, and she didn’t know if this was a new method of gaining friends or she was simply flirting. Either way, the feeling of being in an extremely friendly environment made her giddy. Her own department students didn’t treat her as pleasantly as this. 

She saw a boy she usually saw exiting Kai and Sehun’s class and walked to him, quickening her steps at the familiar face. When she was right in front of him, actually intercepting his way, she dared blink innocently at him, while he stared back, crept out at the sudden appearance of her in front of his face.

“Hey,” she greeted sweetly, or pretended to. Thankfully the boy fell for it and smiled back. “Aren’t you in Jongin’s classes? Did you see him?”

The boy continued to smile, now contemplating her question. 

“No, sorry,” his apology felt genuine, so she sighed. Then he offered a solution. “Call him?”

“Okay, thank you.”

She couldn’t help but roll her eyes as she continued in her walk after a polite bow. What a brilliant idea, as if she hadn’t tried it. Stupid. She was friends with the two idiots, and if she needed one of them, it was easy for her to call them. However, at this time, Kai wasn’t answering his call. With an annoyed groan, she decided to call the second useless boy and he replied quickly.

“Sup.”

She ignored his greeting, “Sehun, have you seen Kai?”

“Oh,” she could bear the teasing pinch under his tone and rolled her eyes, again. “This is the first time you call—“

“Sehun. I’m serious,” she was only halfway serious, but he didn’t need to know that. “I have his books for Business Law. We swapped off by mistake.”

“Is it important?” 

“Deadly, and you’re here stalling,” she could hear another voice echoing around Sehun’s phone and knew instantly that he was messing around with his business mates. He was never serious about his studies. He was fortunate enough to have a break of she’d have told Suho about him slacking off again. “Have you seen him or not? He’s not answering his phone.”

“He was just beside me a few minutes ago and went for the bathroom, calm down,” she was positive he was the one rolling his eyes at her now. “Don’t worry. He’ll be back anytime now.”

Sehun not telling her to worry only made her worry more. By now, she was deadly serious, not only partially. She knew what kind of a person Kai is and he usually doesn’t disappear for a lot of time. He hated being alone and he also always took people along his bathroom trips because of that. Childhood trauma and all that. To hear him going alone to the bathroom, with Sehun telling her to calm down; it made things worse.
