The Grading System

We gave the answers different grades, depending on how well people know them:

• 3 = well
• 2 = okay
• 1 = only a little
• 0 = not at all

Then we can look at how well different fans know them. 3 means that everyone knows them well and 0 not at all. If people on average know them "Okay" the grade is 2, and if on average "Only a Little" it's 1.

There is a rather clear pattern showing that the earlier one started in K-pop, the better one knows TVXQ/JYJ, with those who discovered K-pop 2007 or earlier knowing them quite well, and those who started K-pop recently knowing them very little or not at all.

TVXQ/JYJ are best known in Australia, South America and Africa.

Now we will look at the fans who listed TVXQ/JYJ among their favorite bands!

We show our results for different regions, genders and ages, where for each region, the portion of participants that chose TVXQ/JYJ as their favorite is shown. For example, we look at all fans from Australia and see how big a percentage of Australians lists TVXQ/JYJ as a favorite group. Then we do the same for people from other regions, and different genders and ages.

Africa and North America have the highest proportion of participants who listed TVXQ/JYJ as their favorite.

TVXQ/JYJ seem to be much more popular with the girls than the boys.

TVXQ/JYJ are most favored by participants 36 years and older. Actually, it appears that the older the group of participants, the higher the proportion of participants with TVXQ/JYJ as favorite!
