Nayeon woke up to a hand running gently through her hair. She turned to the side and Jeongyeon looked at her with soft smile, leaning on her elbow she leaned down to give her a peck on the lips.

"Good morning sleeping beauty, how do you manage to look so beautiful just when you're waking up" Jeongyeon said huskily

"You're so cheesy, but I was just about to say the same about you" she said with a laugh. She made her way out of the bed and towards the door, she turned back to Jeongyeon and asked,

"Is Sungjae still sleeping?"

As if to answer her question a loud squeal rang through the apartment and just when Nayeon was about to open the door, Sungjae burst through it.

"MOMMYYY!! it's snowing! It's snowing!"

He stopped in his tracks, he couldn't see his Mom in the room because she was behind the door and only saw Jeongyeon in bed, who's face had turned red but welcomed him with a smile.

"Jeongniee! Guess what! Guess what!" He said while running towards the bed and climbing on it. Jeongyeon sat up against the headboard of the bed and welcomed him into her arms.

"Hey buddy, and what is it?"

"It's snowing!" He whispered excitedly, bunching his hands into fist and shaking them cheerfully. He then stopped and looked around the room, looking for his mom. Nayeon had remained hidden behind the door, watching the interaction between her son and Jeongyeon with a big smile on her face.

"But Jeongnie, where's mommy?"

Nayeon started approaching from behind, signaling Jeongyeon to keep him distracted.

"Oh buddy I don't know, she'll be here any second now."

Nayeon reached him and tackled him gently on the bed and started tickling him, he screamed mommy gleefully between laughs and informed her about the snow. She finally stopped and they were all laying on their tummies side by side, feet in the air.

Nayeon was relieved that Sungjae didn't question why Jeongyeon was here, he was more excited about her being there and about the snow.

"Sungjae, should we go out to play in the snow?" Jeongyeon asked him.

"Can we? Can we please?" He kept looking between his mommy and Jeongyeon and jumped off the bed when they both nodded yes.

"Let's shower, eat and bundle up k bunny?"

-

They had all walked towards the park tumbling in the fluffy snow as they went. Sungjae had squealed in delight when Jeongyeon had rolled a gigantic ball for the base of their snow man, adding another smaller one to the top for the torso. They also worked diligently on tiny fort walls and had an intense snowball fight where he and Jeongyeon ended up teming up against her.

"Sungjae how could you betray your own mother like this"

"Mommy must pay!!! For eating all the fishes when I said don't" and barraged her with tiny snowballs.

Unable to stop herself, Nayeon  had snapped a few pictures with her phone of them making snow angels, Jeongyeon going along with the boy with just as much enthusiasm. Nayeon couldn’t help but think how nice it would be if this was part of her daily routine, if she could enjoy Jeongyeon's presence and yet still play with her son, not having to choose either or. It was also nice to know that when Nayeon’s feet were frozen and she could barely move, Jeongyeon was more than glad to stay outside with Sungjae who begged to stay out a little longer.

So she trudged back to the apartment and worked on their dinner instead. Some warm beef seaweed soup and non spicy rice cakes would make the perfect meal for today's weather. Just when she was plating the food, Jeongyeon and Sungjae came through the door, Jeongyeon plotting down by the foyer to take off her shoes but Sungjae was too excited and ran towards her dragging snow from his boots into the apartment. She couldn't bring herself to be mad, her son was happy so she was happy.

He held his small Polaroid camera in one hand and pictures in the other. He showed them to her, pictures of the snowman, the snow angels, the fort, a heart made out of snow and a picture of her and jeongyeon laying down and laughing in the snow. He Relayed every story behind the pictures he took like she wasn't there for most of the pictures. She responded enthusiastically and then helped him take of his coat and layers of clothing.

"You know, he seem to really like taking pictures" Jeongyeon said, wrapping her arms around Nayeon's waist.

"Well he gets that from me. His mom is a genius photographer after all." She leaned back on Jeongyeon's shoulder looking at her with a smug smile. Jeongyeon simply laughed and gave her a kiss on the forehead before helping her set up the food on the table.

"I actually want him to learn photography, but I genuinely don't have the time"

"We can figure something out" said Jeongyeon as she smiled down at Sungjae, pushing the bowl of rice cakes towards the boy who dropped the phone on the table, quickly grabbing his small fork and started to eat.

“It’s not really for you to figure out,” Nayeon blurted out, sitting across from Sungjae, as she watched her son eat, his tiny hand outstretched so it was holding Jeongyeon's bigger one.

“You don’t have to buy him things you know. I don’t want you to think I want you here so you can take care of my son and buy him things"

“Don’t be ridiculous,” retorted Jeongyeon, sounding almost a little offended as she squeezed Sungjae's hand, as if seeking reassurance from the boy.

“I’m here because I like you, and your son is a part of you so I want to help you. You’re an amazing mom, and I know you do your best for him"

Rather than answer, Nayeon dipped her head in agreement, feeling an unpleasant ball grow in her stomach as she ate her soup silently, nothing but Sungjae's light humming and cheesy jokes brightening the room.

When they were all finished eating, Jeongyeon proposed they watched a movie, the fireplace roaring in the small living room as they all settled in, a fridge feeling winding in despite the heat of the fireplace.

Nayeon made some popcorn and hot chocolate to forgo sitting near Jeongyeon, choosing to sit on Sungjae's other side rather than tucked into the woman’s arms like they had on most nights. Nayeon's decision didn’t go unnoticed, the blonde’s brow raising into a frown as the she accepted the hot chocolate with a muted thanks.

As the movie started, Sungjae slid to the ground, lying on his tummy with his hands tucked under his chin as he watched attentively. Nayeon could feel jeongyeon's eyes on her, tracing every inch questioningly. Unable to handle it any longer, she excused herself, stating she had to start a load of laundry.

Sungjae barely noticed her departure, solely focused on the movie but Jeongyeon's gaze followed her intently until she closed the door to the bathroom behind herself, sighing in frustration as she leaned back against the wooden door.

She hadn’t meant to snap at Jeongyeon about something so trivial as her offering some help. She knew perfectly well that the woman only meant to be supportive, that everything she did was out of the kindness of her heart and yet Nayeon found herself on the defensive, feeling slightly like a cornered animal. She hasn't  been in a relationship since Jaebum, her only priority was her son, and she didn't think shed ever be in a relationship again.

But with Jeongyeon everything was different, everything felt so serious and yet normal. It was frightening to feel so comfortable with someone she’d met barely a month ago, falling into the woman’s arm like it was a home she could grow old in.

A light knock on the door brought her out of hes mental turmoil as she shuffled away from the door, opening it quickly as she thought Sungjae  might need to use the bathroom. On the contrary, the minute the door was open, Jeongyeon managed to slip in, closing the door behind her as she pinned Nayeon's back to the sink, crowding her in.

“I think we need to talk,” whispered Jeongyeon, her hands on either side of Nayeon's head, caging her in and yet she looked completely soft, not a hint of anger in her voice.

“I know,” Nayeon  sighed in reply, bowing het head so she didn’t have to look up at Jeongyeon. She didn’t want to see the warmth in her eyes, the utter admiration and love that always shinned so bright; because truth was, even if their relationship was still fairly knew, it was undeniable the amount of love between them that reached far beyond attraction.

Yet as usual, Jeongyeon was insistent, never allowing Nayeon to say bad things about herself and even less to think them. She felt Jeongyeon's fingers tilting her chin up, forcing their eyes to meet as she smiled sweetly.

“I didn’t mean to impose in your relationship with Sungjae,” admitted Jeongyeon, looking slightly guilty which Nayeon simply couldn’t allow. Lurching forth, she pressed her mouth to Jeongyeon's, silencing the words she didn’t want to hear, working her fingers through the woman’s hair to pull her even closer, a sudden demanding pressure coursing through her body.

“You’re not imposing,” she breathed when they pulled apart, both women looking at each other as they panted, breathless and shaking from the burning kiss.

“I just need to accept the fact that I can’t do everything on my own and that I’m lucky enough to have you here to help me.”

“Let me help you relax,” groaned Jeongyeon , a sinful look on her face as she pushed her leg in between Nayeon's own, applying just the right amount of pressure to have her .

“We shouldn’t,” reasoned Nayeon, running her hands up Jeongyeon's back in a contradicting manner, pulling the woman closer because she needed more, needed to get out of her own head and forget her responsibilities for a minute.

In that moment the sound of the apartment door opening and multiple people shuffling in could be heard.

"Jaee, Jacks"

"Hey little man, we're not the only ones that are here. Uncle Pil and you're aunts should be coming up any minute now"

Nayeon groaned and leaned her head against the mirror behind her with a this. Jeongyeon still had her hands at her waist and was now giggling on Nayeon's shoulder, she couldn't help but laugh as well and was gently hitting Jeongyeon's back as she laughed.

"I sometimes regret  ever giving them the code to my apartment."

"We should get out there" Jeongyeon said as she started fixing Nayeon's hair, then doing the same to herself.

-

When they got out there Jihyo, Mina, Sana, Jae, Wonpil and Jackson had all apparently helped themselves to some soup and were sitting in the living room watching the movie with Sungjae.

“There you are,” Jihyo called out as they approached.

"You two alright? Looking a bit flushed." Said sana raising her eyebrows suggestively

Their arrival sent all of them into a giggling fit. Sungjae on the other hand walked up to them looking confused, watching his aunts and uncles leaning against one another as they laughed like hyenas.

"Mommy you're a little red, are you sick?"

"No bunny, mommy's fine. Just a little hot."

"Yeah, I'd  bet you are" hollered Jae as Jackson wolf whistled and the rest if them laughed.

Rolling her eyes, Nayeon stepped forth, lifting Sungjae into her arms as she went back towards the kitchen.

“How’s pizza for dinner, huh bunny?” she asked, ignoring her friend’s consistent laughter.

The boy nodded enthusiastically, rubbing his tummy and exclaiming it was about time they had dinner as she sat him down on the counter, reaching for the menus above the refrigerator. She kept her eyes on Sungjae rather than her friends, refusing to watch them tease Jeongyeon relentlessly, figuring that if she  was to stick around she was going to have to get use to her friends banter.

By the time the delivery man dropped off four large pizzas, the boys had ceased their teasing, and settled into a smahs bros tournament on her son's Wii that was accompanied by cheap beer. Sungjae found himself drawing next to Wonpil, his small head often coming to rest on his uncle’s thigh as he sighed contently, watching the television with interest until his imagination lead him back to his drawing. He'd sometimes talk excitedly to Sana about his drawings and things he was imagining, and she'd respond with just as much enthusiasm and going along with him.

The girls simply chatted away and Jeongyeon seemed to fit right in, although they'd constantly every time she made an unfunny joke. Nayeon felt at ease, she could get used to this, she was surrounded by her family and all the people she loves. Nayeon watched Jeongyeon abandon her place to sit with Sungjae, a fork and knife to cut the small boy’s food. She watched with a wide smile, unable to look away as the blonde helped Sungjae with the knife, positioning it so the boy could learn how to cut his own food.

“You’re so far gone,”  Jihyo said as she bumped their shoulders.

Nayeon didn’t even deny it as she shrugged, taking another bite of her pizza, keeping her eyes on her girlfriend and son in admiration.

-

After Nayeon settled Sungjae into bed for the night, small snores being heard from beyond the semi-shut door, the rest of them sat in the living room with a few more beers, all a little past sobriety.

“Truth or dare, Jackson?” asked Jae, feet propped up in Jeongyeon's lap as if he’d known the woman for years. It seems that Jae and Jeongyeon got aling quiye well and even betyer when a little drunk. Jeongyeon had fallen into the circle of friends easily, even accepting Sana’s consistent touching and lack of boundaries.

“Dare,” replied Jackson without thought, downing his beer as Jae drunkenly smiled

“Shove an ice cube down your pants, and you can’t take it out until its melted,” he called back, laughing loudly as Jackson's eyes widened.

“Why do your dares always endanger my manhood dude" he whined as he stood, making his way towards the kitchen only to return with the entire tray of ice cubes. Without further instruction, he emptied the content in his pants, yelping out at the touch.

“Oh my god,” howled Jeongyeon high giving Jae as he cackled, holding his stomach as he laughed loudly, Mina And Sana joining in as the blonde boy paced around the living room, groaning uncomfortably.

"He's such an idiot" muttered Jihyo from behind Mina.

"Tell me about it, im gonna marry that idiot" Wonpil sighed.

"What?! How come you didn't tell us." Jihyo said, they couldn't be heard because of the loud chatter around them. Wonpil made put his fingers to his lips saying hush and promising they'll talk about it next time. Jihyo smiled and pushed his shoulder saying it was about time while sipping her beer and then they both focused on the game again.

“I said in your pants, not in your boxers,” wheezed Jae, tears staining the corners of his eyes as Jackson grumbled, rushing for the bathroom.

He came back a few minutes later wearing a pair of of joggers he left in Nayeon's house, a defeated look on his face.

“You’re horrible" he said as he settled next to Jae puching him. “I’ll make you pay for that.”

"Ok! Time for my question... truth or daree?" Said Jihyo  setting her beer down and trying to sound ominous.

“Truth,” Jeongyeon replied with a shrug, fingers running an unconscious pattern over Nayeon’s skin, something she realized the woman did when she got nervous about her friends questions. It was obvious she was trying to fit into their group and playing into her best friends games without question was another part of that.

“Why is there a child seat in your car?” Jihyo asked immediately, the lack of reflection time making Nayeon glare at her friend. It was apparent she had already thought out the question and was using the game to interrogate Jeongyeon; but as always the blonde didn’t even blink at the question, tapping her finger along Nayeon's wrist as she replied.

“It was for my sister’s daughter. I used to pick her up from after school from time to time, it was just easier for me to get my own car seat than to try and get my sister’s every time I went to pick up my niece. She's older now so she doesn't need it, it stayed in my car out of habit”

Jihyo grunted at the reply, looking slightly taken a back at Jeongyeon's explanation, obviously expecting a different reaction.

“You know if you want to ask me questions because it’s your friendly duty. Go right ahead,” she added, turning towards Nayeon to peck her lips sweetly. It was the first real demonstration of affection they’d done over the night, usually sticking to small touches or lingering gazes. As she pulled away she smiled at Nayeon, “I have nothing to hide.”

“I know,” whispered Nayeon in reply,  leaning in to rest her head  against Jeongyeon's shoulder, watching all of her friends expressions as they assessed them closely with smile on their faces.

After a beat of silence, Jihyo let out a laugh a laugh shaking her head and taking a swig of her beer.

“I like this one,” Jackson stated easily, sipping at his beer and the rest of them got rowdy again. Sana turned to Jeongyeon, a very serious expression on her face.

“So how good is Nayeon in bed?” she asked, the brunette's face immediately splitting into a eating grin as Nayeon tackled her to the ground and started play fighting her. She settled back into Jeongyeon's welcoming arms as they all talked happily.

Yeah I could get used to this for sure, thought Nayeon as she closed her eyes for a minute, sighing contently into her beer as Jeongyeon wrapped a strong arm around her and kissing her on the temple, making her feel safe and at home.
