It was a lazy Sunday morning where everyone was getting tired of studying for their upcoming university exam. As Chanyeol rubbed his eyes and looked up, the sun was already shining bright through the window and it was already 10 a.m. With his fluffy morning hair, he woke up from his bed and walked out from his room, down through the stairs going to the dining room.

            He was wearing a plain white t-shirt and a plain black short and was ruffling his messy morning hair.

            “Mom, I’m hungry—”

            His eyes widened up as he saw someone was sitting down on the dining table, it was Baekhyun. Chanyeol stopped playing with his hair and acted cool as if he wasn’t just up.

            “Chanyeol you woke up!” his mom exclaimed, happy to see his favorite son.

            “Yeah—”

           Chanyeol walked to the dining room, Irene sat beside Baekhyun and Chanyeol decided to sit beside his mom. He dipped his spoon right into the cereal and took a spoonful of it. He couldn’t help but to feel Baekhyun’s eyes was on him. Chanyeol looked up to Baekhyun but Baekhyun wasn’t looking at him.

            So this is what insecurities feels like..

            Baekhyun caught Chanyeol was looking at him, he smiled. Chanyeol was taken aback as he looked downwards back to his cereal with another spoonful of it entering his mouth.

Irene’s POV

            Compared to other days, I was even quieter than ever. My heart was beating wildly as Baekhyun was sitting beside me in my dining room in front of my mom.

            I was quiet, trying to be smart with my sentences I was about to say to my mom about my relationship with Baekhyun. As I was thinking of the right words to say to my mom, Chanyeol was again, acting as his usual annoying self. He obviously knew, just by looking at my face, I know he knew about what I’m planning to say.

            “Irene got herself a boyfriend.” Chanyeol murmured to mom.

            “What?” Mom looked up straight to me, “All of a sudden?”

            I knew she dislike the idea of me having a boyfriend just by the way she looked at me. I looked at Chanyeol with a death gaze, laser coming out from my eyes and oh how I wish I could roast him.

            “It just happened that way.”

            “What kind of boy would like yo—”

            Her words pierce my heart, even when my heart has no more space to be pierced, it still hurts.

            “Mom,” Chanyeol interrupted her. “Sentence, please.”

            “Who is your boyfriend?” Mom fixes her sentence and word choices even when I heard what she wanted to say and meant.

            Before I could say a word, I heard a sweet voice in the room instead of my own,

            “My name is Baekhyun and I’m Irene’s boyfriend, Mam. Nice to meet you.” Baekhyun stood up and bowed formally to my mom.

            ‘I’m Irene’s boyfriend’ really lifted my mood.

            “Baekhyun is my hardest rival in class. Irene got herself a fine man.” Chanyeol murmured
