S I X

“Make sure to study for your exams, I’m begging you.” The teacher said her last regard to the class, mostly hoping not to see anyone from Class F again.

Everyone nodded their heads acting as if they would study. As the teacher closed her textbook, her eyes were opened widely as her gaze was fixed at the back door of the class.

“Baekhyun?” The teacher called out a name, everyone in the class looked up and turned their heads back, including Irene.

Baekhyun was standing, slightly leaning to the wooden door frame, smiling.

“Good day Mrs. Jang,” Baekhyun bowed. “I need to talk to one of your students.”

“Oh, sure!” Mrs. Jang agreed without thinking twice to Baekhyun.

Everyone whispered around, and the girls were praying and hoping that Baekhyun would call their name out. But there was only one name in Baekhyun’s mouth to say,

“Irene.” Baekhyun called her name and everyone in the class gasped.

Irene’s eyes widened up with her glowing orbs. “Me?” She mouthed to Baekhyun as her findex finger was pointing at herself.

Baekhyun looked at her and smiled, “Yes, you.” He mouthed back to Irene.

“What are you doing Irene?” Mrs. Jang asked, causing Irene to slightly jumped out from her chair. “Don’t make Baekhyun wait.”

At that moment, Irene’s head wasn’t fully functioning and coordinating with her heart. Irene stood up from her seat, taking a few timid steps towards Baekhyun. There were too many thoughts that were running freely inside Irene’s head.

Why did he call me out?

What will he say to me?

Can I let my hopes high?

No!

Don’t let your hopes get high.

“Hey.” Baekhyun smiled as Irene’s face were merely an inch away from each other. Irene almost bumped into Baekhyun as she was drowned in her own thoughts that she forgot that Baekhyun is in front of her.

            “Oh,” Irene’s body twitched, “H-Hey.” She stammered.

            “Come with me.” Baekhyun smiled and walked away, looking to the back to make sure Irene was following him. Irene who was confused and nervous at the same time decided to follow Baekhyun’s steps as they climbed up the stairs.

            They climbed up a few floors up and as they reached the highest floor, there was a white painted metal door and when Baekhyun opened the door, it was the door to the rooftop. Irene’s mouth was shut as if it was glued with the strongest glue that ever existed, no words could escape her lips even when her head was filled with thoughts as if,  it would explode at any time. 

            Baekhyun walked through the metal frame, out from the shades of the ceiling as his body was covered with the warm sunlight of autumn. Irene hesitated,

            “Come on.” But when Irene saw that pure smile of Baekhyun, all her hesitation were washed away. Irene walked through the metal frame and reveal her pale skin under the warm sunlight, standing straight facing Baekhyun.

Irene bit her lip, eyes everywhere but on Baekhyun. Then he moves closer with those eyes that look so deeply in to her eyes.
