Chapter 16
Polluted“So you are really not going to tell me what happened?” Jinyoung says with a sigh.
London sighs, “There is nothing to tell.”
“So you get hurt to the point where you come to find me and yet you said it’s nothing?”
“Jaebum was just being cautious and overreacting that all.”
“If you ask me he was not careful enough.”
“It was an accident.”
“That’s not good enough.” Jinyoung says, “I cannot allow you to be around someone who could hurt you like this.”
“Jinyoung! How dare you judge him because of this? You don’t even know him or his situation.”
“Because you won’t tell me! I swear to god if he hurts you again-”
“You won’t do anything because it won’t happen.” London’s says. “I really don’t have time for you if all you want to do is interrogate me and accuse Jaebum of things he didn’t do.” London leaves the room.
Jinyoung watched her leave and sighed. What is he supposed to do? How is he supposed to protect her? What can he do if what he does just drives her further away from him and into the arms of another man?
London sat by Yugyeom’s bed side. It was rare for her to be in the worker’s district without Jaebum, but she didn’t want Yugyeom to be alone while all the other members were at work. She brought a stack of papers that she printed from the internet about polluted lung disease. Currently Yugyeom was sleeping while she reading. She got through the first few articles, but the mainly centered around the progress in understanding the disease and not much to cure and prevent it.
“Take care of him; take care of all of them.”
Yugyeom’s voice surprised London, “You’re awake.” She says and puts down the papers and goes quickly to get a glass of water and hands it to him. He takes it and London watches him drink it, it was surreal that a boy of his size was essentially wasting away right in front of her eyes. She
