Chapter 2
PollutedShe saw him.
At least that’s what she thought.
She swore, “I am an idiot.” She yells out internally, it was definitely true, what kind of idiot decides to follow a random stranger in the bubble hope on a whim. Before she knew it, she realized that she was no longer in the bubble but in the tubes, the wrong tube. She had never been in these tubes, never mind that the tube was so full of people she could barely move her arm without hitting someone. She found herself being pushed deeper into the tunnel. To make the situation more uncomfortable her presence was being noticed, after all it’s hard to miss an Elite in this tube. She bit her lip cursing at herself. She was probably going to get lost and die alone. An arm suddenly grabbed her elbow firmly stopping her in her tracks, people grumbling as the part around her like the river around a boulder. She looked up, those defiant eyes that haunt her in her dream stared back her.
“What are you doing here?”
London could not believe it, he recognized her! Only when he seemed indifferent did she realized that it was not the case. ‘I am just an elite sticking out like a sore thumb.’ she reminded herself.
“Uh, um...” She stumbled embarrassingly, “I think I am lost.”
“I guess you are.” He grinned. “We should fix that. Follow me.”
London stood there, unable to do anything, it really was him, without a doubt, she could recognize that half smile anywhere.
“Damn... “He says to the locked doors of the tube. “I swear the curfew is getting stricter every day.” He says softly to himself.
‘Curfew?” She asks, she had never heard about curfews before.
“There is a curfew for the disposables, the tubes for us works differently. He says, “It means I have to get back home soon, or those damn penalties will be the end of me.”
