Chapter 4
PollutedAfter dinner, they washed the dishes, another now experience for London. When the task was completed they settled down for the night, both of them laying down staring at the ceiling trading stories and marveling at how different their lives are. It is only when they have spoken until their throats were dry and their eyes drooping did silence settle in the room, both of them wrapped in their own thoughts.
-I wish I could stay here forever.-
But how can she impose? How can she trade her own freedom for his?

Jaebum shakes the thoughts out of his head; he hated the thought of having to take her back, especially when he hears about the way she is, as she calls it, programmed like a robot. But how could he ask her to stay when he too was imprisoned. How could he protect her when he was a prisoner himself? How can he offer her freedom when he does not have any?
The two of them walk together towards the patrol office. He made sure to keep her close even though they were not physically touching, not to mention that they left in the early hours of the morning when there barely a few souls out. The walk was slow and quiet, neither of them knowing what to say.
“I guess this is it.” Jaebum says, stopping in front of the patrol office.
