Jaebum waited by their meeting spot at the bubble of hope, London was late. It was at moment like these when he is reminded of how fleeting their time together is. After London found out yesterday, she spent a lot of time in a semi motionless state where it seemed like she was far away in her world, she suddenly announced she was leaving and left so fast that Jaebum didn’t have time to react.

She was really late; she would normally be waiting for him when he got here after work. Maybe his impending death was too much for her.

London knew she had to get going, Jaebum was probably waiting for her, but there was little that could be done in this situation that she faced.

“Darling, this is Jinyoung.” her mother smiled. “Jinyoung dear, this is London.”

He smiled, and reached for her hand, “Nice to finally meet you London.”

London herself smiling back, his smile was infectious, simple and kind. “Nice to meet you too.” She replied taking her hand out of his.

“I’ll leave the two of you to have a chat.” her mother smiled and quietly left the room.

The room became suddenly too small and London took a few steps back.

“I don’t know what you know about me, but I thought I should make my intentions clear. London, do you mind if I call you London?”

“London is fine.”

“Perfect then, London, I would like to be friends.”

“You don’t want to be engaged?”

“No, and I am going to pretend that I did not hear your hopeful tone just now,” He says with a small smile. ”I would like to start out as friends. My ultimate wish is that you would come to love me, but that will be much more difficult if I impose our parent’s and my wish onto you.”

“So you want to just be friends.”

“At this point in time, yes. I would like us to get to know each other without the complexities surrounding our meeting. No pressure.”

“How are you going to achieve that? I thought we were going to get engaged the moment you returned from your studies.”

“I have spoken to our parents and arranged otherwise.”

‘Otherwise?”

“Yes, it is postponed indefinitely as long as you wish.”
