That time...

When GFRIEND recently released their 'Rainbow', their first Repackage Album, that released on September 13, 2017, with title track “Summer Rain", just after about a month after they released their 5th Mini Album "Parallel" with title track "Love Whisper". It's very hectic and felt everything goes so fast. It's the first experience for the girls had that kinda fast work. The Parallel promotion periode was like a blink of eye, they had not digest it yet but already done. Weirdly seems overlap. But they GFriend afterall... they good on everything they do.^^

 

 

September 23rd 2017

For that day at noon they have to attend their 3rd Fansign at Sangam. Before that fansign schedule, the 5 girls were had dance practise, while Sowon has to skipped the practise because she need to attend her college class and will catch up directly to fansign location.

Sowon just arrive about the same time with the girls. When she just turn to hallway, she can see the girls that goofing around from afar. Then she call them...

 

"Kids!!"

 

Sowon's bright and clear voice succeed to make the 5 girls turn to look back at her direction. She wave to them then quickly came closer.

 

"Oowah! Sowon Unnie, you change your hair color..." the girls comment as soon Sowon right in front of them. They staring at her.

"Yeah. What do you think?" Sowon ask casually.

"Uhmmm... great!" They answer while still staring and touching Sowon's hair.

"Great? But why you sounds weird... sounds... unsincere..." Sowon ask with frown on her forehead.

"No.. no..  sorry Unnie. We do sincere. Really. You look awesome." SinB quickly said while keep staring at her leader-unnie's new hairlook.

"Yeah. You look calmer and mature in black." Umji can't help to spill her personal deep thought.

"You look pretty, Unnie. Undoubtfully. Trust me." Yuju adding.

"Yeah. Really pretty. You not said anything to us about this before, Unnie... we just surprise. That's all..." Eunha said.

Sowon grinning sheepishly, "Yeah. Just suddenly want it." The girls nod their head.

Sowon turn to look at Yerin who just silently staring at her since the begining, "Yerin-ah, what do you think?"

Yerin a bit yelped at Sowon's sudden question to her, "Great! Awesome! Really pretty!"

Sowon sigh, "You just compile all your dongsaengs's answers..." Yerin grinning, while the younger members laugh.

 

Sowon quickly change clothes to match up with the girls in their costume performance then start the event immediately after everybody ready.

 

 

At the fansign event.

Sowon wearing a cute round thin fake-eye-glasses a gift from Buddy, that make her somehow look like a very pretty and calm young teacher. Yerin look at her Unnie who right next to her and can't help to stare at her for moment.

 

Wow! Unnie really look good in black hair. She look solemn and graceful young woman. Her charm glowing.

Yerin thought then suddenly got goosebump all over her body.

 

Sowon feel an intense stare that force her to turn to look at her right side. Then there she is, Yerin, who staring and gawking at her. Sowon can't help to chuckle to look how cute dumbfounding face of Yerin at that time. Even more when she notice that Yerin about to drool. Sowon actually curious, want to wait and see if the drool really drip out, but then she think that it's might ruin Yerin's (and GFriend's) image too much, since they at fansign that time, so she decide to stop it before humiliation might happen.

Sowon slap Yerin's arm, "Yerin-ah! What are you doing? Why you staring and gawking at me? Are you lost your mind? Or you day dreaming or maybe sleep in open eyes? Hahaha! Wake up!."

Yerin yelped, then naturally in her saliva that almost drool and gulped it nervously, "Unnie~... you shocked me!" She whine.

Sowon laugh again, "Focus then..!"

"Yeah... yeah... okay." Yerin just obidiently answer then turn her face to another direction than to Sowon, while she actually having hard time to calming down her pit-a-pat heart beat that time.

 

After finished the fansign, they go for lunch. Like usual, Yerin is over-excited for eating, as if about to swallow the whole food plus the bowl, the plate, the chopstick and the spoon (sorry for exagerated^^), that's why Sowon try to calm that girl down.

"Easy... easy.... Yerin. There's nobody gonna steal your food, we got plenty. Enjoy your food comfortably. We still have enough time, so you don't need to eat that fast and that much at once. It's hot and spicy, you might choke if you eat that mountainous spoonful of food." Sowon warn in concern with worry clearly plastered on her face and her voice.

Yerin and the girls laugh. "I won't choke. Don't worry, Un-..." Yerin can't finish her sentence, since she start to get choked up and cough. Sowon quickly hands a glass of water and pats her back carefuly, trying to help and ease the pain. Fortunately Yerin get better fast and manage to control her breath.

 

"See.... I just told you." Sowon said in concern, definitely not teasing.

"I'm fine." Yerin stubbornly whine.

 

 

After the lunch they go to their next schedule at MBC MU:CON AMN Big Concert. After finished their schedule that day they go back to their dorm. On their way back, in their van, while the girls sleeping, Yerin can't sleep because feel her stomach is unwell.

Sowon is notice that Yerin have been quiet since on their way home, also there's slight grimace on that girl's face, as if holding some pain. When both of them finally on their sharing room, Sowon decide to ask, "Yerin-ah, are you okay? You've been quiet and you move slower than usual... are you feeling unwell?"

Yerin nod, "Eung... my stomach feel weird..."

"Was it because your choked on our lunch? I told you so many time to eat deliberately! Too fast eating, swallow the food before munch it properly might force your digestion to have work extra hard, and that can caused an indigestion like upset stomach, you know?..." Sowon scold sternly but still then she come closer to check on Yerin's temperature by touch her back hand on her roommate's forehead, then make Sowon can't help to frown, "Oh... you having a fever."

Sowon quickly take off Yerin's bag from that girl's shoulder, also take off her coat, "Go clean up and wash yourself then change to your pyjamas! Quickly! I'll get you some medicine and warm drink. Go!" Then she push the younger girl.

 

After finished do what her Unnie told her to do, Yerin just lie down on her bed. If before she felt pain near her belly button, now it moves to the right side, she also feel nausea that make her about to vomit, she having fever and chills at the same time.

Sowon enter the room with mug on her hand and small towel "Here, drink these! I've got medicine to cool down your fever and drink warm water is good for calming your stomach."

Yerin accept the mug and the medicine then drink it as she told to. She give back the empty mug to Sowon that accept it then put it on the nearest table. Sowon then put a wet cool small towel on Yerin's forehead to reduce the fever, "Get a sleep. You'll be fine when you wake up tomorrow." Sowon said motherly.

"Unnie, just lay on my side here... and rub my belly 'till I fall asleep. Usually my mom did that whenever I had stomach ache and it always works well." Yerin ask.

Sowon think for a while, but then Yerin start to groan and whine, "Ouwh~... c'mon Unnie! What took you so long?! I'm in pain here~!"

"Okay, okay!" Then Sowon slide under Yerin's blanket and lay beside the whiny-girl, her hand keep her head up by stand her arm, she placed her free hand on the blanket right on top of Yerin's Stomach then start to rubbing it gently. "Now, try to get sleep!"

Yerin grinning, "As expected, you definitely the best unnie." Then for Sowon's surprise, Yerin steal a quick peck on her cheek. Yerin smile then close her eyes.

 

 

In the morning...

Sowon wake next to Yerin. First thing she does is checking on Yerin's temperature. Sowon sigh in concern when find that the fever is still there.

 

Later, when Sowon see Yerin packing a bag for today's schedules...

"Yerin-ah, just stay at dorm. I'll talk to Manager-Oppa. You need to rest and heal first. Just skip our schedule today." Sowon advice in concern.

"It's okay, Unnie. My condition is not that bad. I don't need to skip for today, especially I don't want to skip to perform on SBS Global K-pop Super Concert today." Yerin insist.

"But you look pale..." Sowon keep trying to persuade.

"I just need proper breakfast, thar's all..." Yerin grinning witty.

Sowon scoff, "Stubborn!" Then turn around to left.

"Unnie~... don't mad at me! I'm okay, I'm just hungry!" Yerin whine.

 

 

Later...

GFriend have a breakfast at stew restaurant.

"Jalmoggesseumnida (잘 먹겠습니다 : we'll eat this well) !!" Then the girls happily dig their breakfast.

"Yerin-ah, eat it well! Don't rush! And don't put too much pepper on it, remember you might get stomach upset again!" Sowon warn.

"Okay, okay, I know..." Yerin answer unchalantly. But then she still eat her breakfast excitedly with many sounds along, very cute and funny actually watching how Yerin eating. She put lot of pepper until she get wet in sweat and exhales rushly due to the spiciness, but she even slurping the broth. Sowon almost slap that girl's arm, irritating.

 

 

GFriend at SBS Global K-pop Super Concert venue...

The girls just finished check sound and general rehearshal, the show still in few hours later so they are just having free time on their waiting room.

"Unnie, my stomach is feel even more weird than before... it's like cramping..." Yerin complain to her leader-unnie.

Sowon scoff, "You never listen to me! You ignored my concern. But then you complain and whine to me. Then what you expect me to do?" Sowon scold sternly.

Yerin pout and low her face, "Sorry... but this is really getting hurt."

Sowon sigh deeply, then reach out her hand to touch Yerin's forehead, "Your fever is higher than before. I'll tell Manager-Oppa. Just have a rest, don't move too much. I'll try to get you medicine or paramedic to check on you." This time Yerin obidiently nod. Then Sowon go to talk with Manager-Oppa.

Yerin carefully sit, she feel gradual onset of dull, aching pain throughout the abdomen. Localized sharp pain in the right lower part of the abdomen. The pain tends to be more constant and severe than the dull. She has pretty high fever but also have the chills.

Sowon back with paramedic from SBS clinic that stand by on the event venue, she check on Yerin's condition and give some medicine and an injection.

"If she not getting better in 2 hours at least, then I advice to take her to the hospital. I'm worry that her fever and stomach ache are actually symptoms of appendicitis... but to make sure she better check on the details on the hospital laboratory. If my guess is right... but of course I hope it's not that bad... it can be dangerous if the appendix is inflamed and not get quick treatment, it might rupture... it can be a life-threatening situation." The paramedic explain.

Sowon get goosebump chills all over her body by hearing that. An horrible imagination flash on her mind. It scares her very much. She gulp hardly.

 

After the paramedic left, Sowon manage trying to reduce Yerin's fever by put wet cold towel on that younger girl's forehead like what she did last night.

"Unnie~... can I lay my head on your lap?" Yerin ask.

"Yeah, sure." Sowon answer.

Then Yerin manage her body position to lay her head in Sowon's lap, then put Sowon's hand on her belly, "Please rub it for me Unnie..."

While Sowon gently rubbing it, she carefully check on Yerin's face expression. That girl is pale and there's constant grimace, but fortunately it seems rubbing her stomach is really help make her feel better, as her grimace is gradually faded then she able to fall asleep. Sowon feel her heart is hurt, as if it twisted, just like everytime her members in sick or pain or sad. Even more this time is her roommate being in pain is hurt her even more. She can't help to keep silently praying that Yerin will get better quickly.

 

 

About a half hour before their turn to perform, GFriend are ready in their costume and make up, all of them except Yerin who still sleeping on Sowon's lap. Sowon made it to got permission from Manager-Oppa to let Yerin skip the performance. But then, for their surprise, Yerin awake just in time and said that she will join the performance, that she already feel better. She stubbornly insist when Sowon tell her to just skip it. Those roommates almost have fierce argue, fortunately the other members step up to arbitrate them.

 

Later, the all 6 of them finally on the SBS Global K-pop Super Concert stage, performing few of their hit singles. They doing great as always, getting good respond from the audience. But as longer Yerin feel her stomach ache is getting worse. Then on their last song 'Love Whisper' Yerin suffered of a powerful stomach ache throughout, eventhough during that last song she keep hold her stomach and the severe pain is make her dance move a bit slower, but in the end she manage to finished the performance. When they finally on the back stage, Yerin can't hold it anymore, her legs lost it strenght, she limp then almost fall in faint, fortunately SinB who right behind her is fast enough to catch her. That beagle maknae panickly shout for help, make the other members and staffs quickly come to help.

 

"Just take her to the hospital, Oppa! I'm afraid this is really serious matter. She must get in-depth examination as soon as possible. She's getting worse." Sowon rush Manager-Oppa to do exact action.

"Okay!" Then Manager-Oppa piggybacked Yerin, but when he about to run he feel something hold him, turns out it because Yerin is keep gripping Sowon's hand. There's no other way than Sowon has to run along with them.

When they finally reach their company car, Manager-Oppa quickly let down Yerin on the passenger seat.

"Yerin-ah let go my hand! You have to go to the hospital as soon as possible!" Sowon ask in hurry and worry.

"Please, go with me..." Yerin ask in whisper, she almost can't speak because the terrible pain she having that time.

"Sowon has to stay to manage the rest of your members." Manager-Oppa persuade.

Yerin reluctantly let go Sowon's hand.

"Just go with Manager-Oppa for now. Don't be stubborn and get help on the hospital. You'll be fine and will get better fast. I'll see you later, okay..." Sowon try to soothe. Yerin finally nod. Then they left to the hospital.

Sowon back inside the venue, to their waiting room, to the rest of her members, trying to soothe them, compose them to go on their next schedule, eventhough Sowon herself actually is having hard time to keep her sanity and calmness, she has to forced herself to hold the urge to go along with Yerin at least to make sure seeing by her own eyes that girl taken care of properly at the hospital. The felt of Yerin gripped her hand and the sound of her voice when she asked her to go with her to the hospital is still linger and it hurt Sowon's heart. By heart of course Sowon would insist to go with them to the hospital, but her rational kept her to fulfill her obligation as group leader that she has to stay to lead the rest of members.

 

It's hard... it's hurt...

Sowon feels like want to cry or at least scream out to ease her pain that stuffing her chest. But she can't do that...

Her dignity as leader won't let her. She realize the rest of her members are depend on her. If she let herself down then those younger girls might easily break down along with her also, then it will be hard for them to stand up in quick. Their group's pride is at staked, and Sowon will not forgive herself if it down just because she let her 'weakness' and unprofessionality prevail.

She just can't let herself down everytime bad things happen to them.... no matter what Sowon has to keep in her mind that she must to be able to force herself to keep her sanity and strong image for the sake of their group, always be dependable leader for her members can lean on to, eventhough it ruthlessly grinding herself inside.
