Chronicles of Mr. Kitty-
The Sun, The Moon and The EarthMr. Kitty- could not remember the earlier days of his life. He did remember his mother, a small little cat with black spots on her snowy body. The woodlands was their home. He was born at the end of winter, just before the snow melted away, and spring flowers shook their timid heads from their buds. Before the trees bloomed with pink and white blossoms. Before the bleating of lambs in the farmyard next to the orphanage. It was still a quiet and miserable time at the time of his birth. He recalled the cold seeping into his bones, and the warm comfort of his mother’s fur. Then one day, he could find his mother no more.
He mewled and he searched far and wide. There was no trace of her. Not a sound or a memory in the soil that she had ever roamed the woodlands. Nature had made him an orphan at too young an age, but he was the cousin of tigers and leopards. He was equipped with the necessary attributes to survive by himself.
It was at the start of spring where he encountered the orphanage, and danced around for a bit of food. There was no shame in a kitten begging for food. As long as his belly was full and he had a shelter for the rough nights, Mr. Kitty- was content with his lifestyle. Of course, it all changed when he found his pet, a six-year-old boy that they called Hongbin. The latter rescued him from a tree, and after that he followed the boy to everywhere, to anywhere. Other cats would have scolded him for attaching himself to a Two-legs, but Mr. Kitty- was fascinated with Hongbin. A special bond tied his soul with the boy’s, and he could feel the pulse of life through the invisible string around their hearts. The boy’s emotions, his feelings, his dreams and aspirations were all known to Mr. Kitty-. The same account held true for Hongbin's friends. Two-legs were so predictable.
Jongin was natural like the earth. He was naive, and to a certain extent, stupid. Mr. Kitty- often avoided him, because Jongin had a tendency to grab hold of his tail. Mr. Kitty- hated anyone who would hold his tail.
Myungsoo was an interesting fellow, as interesting the vanishing moon. He was calculating and a lot quieter than his two counterparts. He had a lot in common with Mr. Kitty-. Both hated company, and both liked to eat a lot of meat. That was probably why they avoided one another. Like with like held no attraction.
Suzy was different than the other Two-legs. For one, she was not smelly like the other three. She often carried a scent of strawberry cupcakes and macaroons. Mr. Kitty- liked her. She was sweet, and much softer than the boys. She was not as loud as them either, and she respected Mr. Kitty-’s boundaries. Yes, he initially hated her for frightening him when they first met, but that changed. After Hongbin, Suzy would be his favourite person.
If Jongin was the Earth, Myungsoo was the Moon and Hongbin was the Sun, then Mr. Kitty- would agree that Suzy was the Milky Way.
Mr. Kitty- was roused from his nap by the sound of bickering. He hopped off the basket situated under the oak tree. It was a warm day, and a dry breeze rustled through the green leaves. The tree looked as if it had a wild h
