Track 11:
MythicalTrack 11|Opening My Eyes
Jung Eunji
Jung Eunji opened her eyes with a total haze of what had happened days and weeks back.
The room was dark and the windows were open, letting the night breeze enter her room. The moon was shining brightly in the horizon, along with a few stars glistening in beauty. She tried to think what had happened before, why was she in bed at that time. Did she become so tired from school that she passed out when she got home? Or did she sleep this past few days and didn’t remember? She tried searching for answers but it was to no avail. Nothing comes into her mind.
At that moment, her eyes dropped to the woman beside her, sitting in a stool and resting her head on the side of the bed. She was in deep slumber, her hands holding unto Eunji’s.
It was weird for Eunji; it was the first time she woke up not feeling empty or lost. Her eyes weren’t crying, and the chills weren’t there in her spine, whispering to her that she has lost something.
She glanced at her hands, the parts of her that always felt like losing something. It felt perfectly perfect that night, with the other girl holding it tight.
She didn’t understand. Why does she felt that way…? She had hazy memories of the older woman. All she knows was that this girl and her mom was kept in their house and now working for them. She barely knew her and couldn’t even grasp her conversations with the older one. She could remember some fragments, the two of them talking together like they were great friends. They were joking around, smiling and having fun teasing each other.
Eunji loved that scene… but a part of her says that it’s not her at all.
She wasn’t the one who joked around the older woman. She wasn’t the one with that never ending grins directed at that woman…
And yet, she knows she was that girl… that girl who always took her Segway and patiently waits for the woman from her night shift in the diner. She didn’t say anything, just waited and waited until the girl heads home and lets her follow. She knows how dangerous the night is… that’s why she wanted to make sure that the woman goes home safely…
Jung Eunji was clueless that she was being possessed by a God all this time and she didn’t plan on knowing the story behind those hazy memories because if there was one thing she knows.
She’s happy… even if she also knows how unfair Love is playing.
Because love and death has no difference, except that sometimes Death is kinder.
Scratching the back of her head, the young girl groaned. “It would’ve been better if Thanatos took me four years ago
