Jung Eunji

Eunji sat up in heavy breathing.                                                    

She just woke up, cold sweat and lost. Her hands felt like it has been run through by electricity, a feeling that lingers for a long time. Clasping my hands together, I stare blankly at the portrait in front of me. It was unfinished, just filled with random lines and , blue and black shades. She wasn’t that great of an artist but she can draw. At least, she can draw my memories in exact detail. Dreams? That’s another mystery.

The feelings linger for a moment before disappearing as she closed her eyes. The next time she opened them, it felt like she was possessed. And somehow, she was.

She walked out of her room and walked down the grand staircase of their manor to the kitchen. Her eyes were half open, evidence of lack of sleep present in her whole being. Evidence that Mrs. Son didn’t miss.

“Having nightmares, Miss Jung?” The housekeeper asked kindly, preparing breakfast for the whole family.

“It’s okay, Mrs. Son. The bad feeling goes away when I eat your delicious food.” She politely stated, walking forward to take a toast to eat.

“It’s nice to see you eat so well, Miss Jung. You should eat healthily so you can grow well, okay?” Like she was talking to a middle schooler, Mrs. Son tapped Eunji’s head affectionately, making the high schooler beam in glee. In the middle aged woman’s eyes, Eunji was just a simple precious girl that needs all the love she could get. She didn’t know, just how much love Eunji has to be honest.
