Sunggyu completely distanced himself with Hoya. He knew that the younger would be hurt by this but it’s better to have done it earlier than later.

Hoya was sure that something was wrong with Sunggyu but whenever he approached the elder, Sunggyu just fled away making some excuse.

 

 

 

                     

 

 

 

Minho and Jackson felt guilty seeing Sunggyu go back to his previous self again. He comes to the store, does his work efficiently, does not have much interaction with any others except customers and that’s it. He is back to the grumpy reserved Sunggyu as before.

So they decided to talk to Sunggyu when Hoya was working at the store.
“Hyung, we are sorry.” Minho apologized.

“If you felt uncomfortable due to our nosiness, we are really sorry.” Jackson added.

“It was great to see you smile, to see you talk to us more intimately, to see you have that glow in face. We just wanted to have fun teasing you. If we ever hurt you, we are sorry.” Minho said to which Jackson nodded.

 

Sunggyu felt terrible at the moment. The more he thinks he is causing grief to everyone around him.

“What are you guys talking about? You have done nothing wrong.” Sunggyu tried to comfort his juniors.

Sunggyu knew that both of them cared about his so much so, he felt more guilty making them feel bad.

“Then promise us, you would be smiling again, not the robot smile, the real one, genuine one.” Jackson forwarded his pinky.

Though Sunggyu felt this childish, but he still joined the younger and promised.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The same night, after shutting down the place, Hoya walked the same direction as Sunggyu.

The elder was amused. “W…why are you going this way?”

“Ah…I want to meet FeelDog today. It’s been a while since we last met.” Hoya said nonchalantly making Sunggyu believe in him. But Hoya’s main motive was to talk to Sunggyu.

Recently, Sunggyu has the ear phone on his ear as soon as the shop is shut. He just waves at the younger and says, “See you tomorrow” and leaves hurriedly.

Tonight too, he had his earphones on but Hoya spoke loudly catching Sunggyu’s attention.

“Hyung.”

“Hm…yeah.” Sunggyu spoke putting his ear plug down.

“You have been quite busy recently.” Hoya started.

Sunggyu too felt that he needed to clear the air between them so, he kept the phone inside his pocket.

“Yeah, more stuffs coming in, many customers, good the business is going well.”     

“Hmm…” Hoya hummed. He didn’t know how to ask what he wanted to really ask.

Seeing Hoya fidgeting and rubbing his neck, Sunggyu knew that he was hesitating to speak so, he took the initiative, “Hoya, let’s have lunch tomorrow together, along with Minho and Jackson.”

Hoya immediately had that sparkle in his eyes, Sunggyu could see even though it’s dark out there.

“You are serious right hyung. Tomorrow is my treat then!” Hoya was jumping and doing some funny dance in the middle of the road. Sunggyu would have buried himself due to embarrassment any other time but since it’s night and no one is walking around, he just let it pass.

They talked about usual stuffs along the road, like how Jackson was so loud most of the time but was a softie inside, how Minho was such a reliable dongseang, how the ajumma who cleans the store is always nagging about everything, how their lunch time should have been extended, how everyone are excited for the bonus as this month is the end of third quarter, and other casual things.

 

 

 

 

 

Like last time, Sunggyu didn’t come till the café FeelDog is working at but Hoya still felt super happy that he could talk freely with his hyung after a long time. His face was full of smiles, even FeelDog saying, “Woo…someone is flying today.”

Nothing bothered him, Hoya was just too happy!

 

 

 

                     

 

 

 

Sunggyu wanted to accompany Hoya till the café, he wanted to spend more time with the younger, he could feel his heart beating louder when Hoya acted cute. By this he was sure that Lee Howon was special to him. But he was too stubborn to let his feelings grow. He thought he had no right to feel that way.

 

Next day everyone felt happy to see Sunggyu laughing and having fun during lunch. They were glad to have that smile back on his face. But no one could decipher the inner battle he was going through. Sunggyu felt that he needed to cheer up for the sake of his well-wishers, but he could not be truly joyful.

He had that nagging feeling constantly in his mind telling him he is the culprit for all these mess.

Though he was able to put up the fake smile to make the ones around him not worry about him, but

Hoya could sense that Sunggyu was bearing some burden which is bugging him. By the way his smiles never reaches his ears, by the way his mind drifts away in middle of their conversation, by the way his eyes shows the sadness without anything happening, he can say that Sunggyu is going through something.

 

 

 

                     

 

 

 

“Hyung, how is your university going?” Hoya wanted to make Sunggyu talk.

“It’s good.” That’s all he gets in reply.

Though Hoya wanted to hear more of the story, he can’t force the elder.

Hoya only gets curt answers to his questions.

 

 

 

                     

 

 

 

It was not like Hoya was following Sunggyu, it’s just co-incidence, really…that they met in the mall in their day off.

“Ah…Sunggyu hyung, you are here for shopping?” Hoya waved at Sunggyu.

“Oh…yeah. I am done for now. Heading home. See you tomorrow at shop.” Sunggyu was about to turn when Hoya caught his arm.

“Hyung, want to grab something to eat? Hyung, pwwwease I am hungry.” Hoya did that puppy eye which Sunggyu could not deny.

 

 

After they made the order, Hoya was the one to start the conversation.

“Hyung, do you have a girlfriend?” Hoya wanted to know if he is like that due to his love life.

“No”. Sunggyu denied.

“So, do you have boyfriend?”

Sunggyu was taken aback by the sudden question. His small eyes were stretched too much making him seems like a cute hamster with his mouth shaping “O”.

Hoya wanted to laugh so bad at the moment but controlled hardly.

“Why do you think so?” Sunggyu was confused.

“I was just asking hyung. You’re so cute!” Hoya was laughing hard now seeing Sunggyu blink his eyes so fast.

 

 

“So, is that yes or no?” Hoya wanted to confirm after a while.

Hoya wanted to hear the negative answer so, he could feel something weird in his stomach as he was waiting for Sunggyu to speak.

“No.” This time Sunggyu gave answered coolly.

Hoya’s eyes were glistening with hope.

But at the same time, he wanted to know what was bothering the elder if it was not the love life.

“Hyung, do you by any chance having some problem at home? With your family or something?” Hoya made another guess.

“My parents are super cool so, no issues. Why are you asking by the way?” Sunggyu was surprised to receive such questions from the younger.

“Ah…never mind then.” Hoya tried to dismiss the topic. He didn’t want to be seen nosy.

“Come on Hoya, tell me. Why are you asking all these? Do you have crush on me?” Sunggyu asked jokingly but he wanted to confirm, don’t know for whose sake but at least he wanted to know what Hoya feels for him.

 

Now it was Hoya’s turn to get flustered. He wanted to say what his heart wants but just went with, “I can see you are not happy from within hyung. I was just concerned.”

 

Sunggyu felt a bit disappointed. So, Hoya was just worried for him, he was not inquiring because he was interested in the other.

“I am fine Hoya. Thanks for the concern.”

Hoya was not satisfied with the conversation but what could he do.

 

 

 

 

 

Hoya insisted to pay for the lunch since it was him who dragged the elder to eat. When Hoya came out after paying to meet Sunggyu, who had already gone out, he could see the elder talking with some other boy and the atmosphere between them looked tensed.

Hoya quickly went up to the elder. “Hyung.”

The stranger smirked seeing Hoya clutching Sunggyu’s arm, “So you already moved on. Found another one…huh!”

Hoya didn’t understand what he was implying but Sunggyu had his fist ready to punch at the person ahead.

Hoya once again called, “Hyung.”

Sunggyu let go of the fist and said, “Let’s go.” Sunggyu dashed forward and Hoya followed the suit calling his name.
