Chapter 31: Enter and Experience
Introducing Lady Cutthroat
The room was so silent that the mere ticking of the clock was beginning to irk Haru. She needed to do something. Normally, that would be the case but today, Barom has refused all of her attempts to go out. Staring at the young man at her desk, she finds him fiddling with an old black stereo that’s a size that fits perfectly in his two hands.
“What are we waiting for?”
“A signal.”
His response does nothing to clear her confusion or reduce her agitation and he goes back to playing with the stations on it. Finding his channel, he sets the stereo on the surface of the desk before looking up at her.
“Are you trying to waste my time?” The sun has long set and they’re just sitting around. Does he understand what she could have gotten done in the amount of time they have spent in her bedroom today?
“Of course, not.” He responds before changing the subject matter. “I’m curious about something.”
“What?”
“Are you really trying to learn about the boss’ business?”
It takes a moment for Haru before she could reply. “Until it bores me.”
"So, what? Are you going to leave when it does?" Sounds a little impossible, if she's asking for an opinion.
He suddenly diverts his attention away from her and towards the stereo. The silence between them was now filled with a song – something she has never heard before. Sure, it was a good song but the attention it received from Barom was certainly too enthusiastic.
Is he that big of a fan?
“Rain sound.” He comments softly.
“Huh?”
“Get ready – we’re leaving.” Jumping to his feet, he leaves the bedroom and shuts the door behind him.

The car slows to a stop while the headlight lights up the metal gates that are preventing them access. Barom gets out of the car and heads for the lock, jiggling it a few times to get it unlocked so that they could drive through.
After some moments, the car is parked and everyone slid out.
Haru stirs in her steps.
It feels oddly relaxing. She pauses, feeling the way the breeze caresses her cheek and allowing the sound of the water crashing against the pier to distract her for a moment.
So, this is Baesin pier.
“Haru, let’s go.”
Looking front, she finds Barom and Jongup waiting for her. Without further delay, her legs carry her towards them.
The more they walked, the louder the strange noises were getting.
Like the mini factories, there were men working on the pier as well. Men were coming out of the containers and loading boats. Busy observing, she nearly bumped into Jongup when he came to an abrupt stop. Looking over his shoulder, she meets a new face.
“Hey, Insoo.”
The mentioned young man smiled back.
“You’re telling me this guy handles the exports and imports?” Haru leaned towards Barom and whispered her surprise. He was younger than she thought he would be. Her dad didn’t seem the type to rely on young blood.
But, Barom answers with a nod.
“Commendable.” That's all she can say.
“Hey, Jongup, Barom…and you must be Haru.” He greets her kindly. “How…how are you doing? I heard what happened recently.” He worded it in a manner where he wasn’t sure if he could ask the question.
“Good, I guess.” She's still alive and that isn't anything to complain about.
“We were just going to show Haru around the pier.”
“Oh, no one would be better at that than me, right?” Insoo comments jokingly.
“It’s fine if you’re busy.”
“Not at all.”
With a small smile and a wave of his hand, he urges them to follow after him. The small tour consists of him explaining the process that occurs here and how t
