CHAPTER 11

Wonwoo ate his cereal as quickly as he could. His father’s secretary had informed him that a potential client will be dropping by the company and his presence was needed.

“Young Master, the car is ready. We will depart whenever you're ready.”

Wonwoo gulped down his glass of milk and wiped his mouth, “Thank you for the breakfast Ahjumma. I'll be going now, you can leave when you're done. Ahjussi, let's go.”

Wonwoo checked his outfit one last time before knocking on the conference room door. He was greeted by his father's Secretary and was led to an empty seat beside his father.

“Good morning Father,” Wonwoo greeted his father before settling down. The Secretary, Ms Kim, gave a rundown of today's meeting.

Moments later, a plump looking man and a young male, around Wonwoo’s age, entered the room, disrupting their discussion.

“Mr. Tuan! How nice to see you again!” Mr. Jeon walked up to the older male and shook his hand, “This must be Mark, your eldest son.”

Mark greeted Mr. Jeon before acknowledging Wonwoo’s presence.

“This must be your youngest, Wonwoo, right? I heard the wedding will be held next month. Congrats on the wedding.”

Wonwoo simply nods his head.

The meeting wasn't as important as he thought he would be. It was basically two grown man bragging about themselves in front of their sons. It was a torture for Wonwoo to sit through it.

The adults’ conversation was interrupted by Jae, Wonwoo’s Personal Assistant, “Young master, your lesson with Mr. Yoon has been pushed forward to 6PM and Sir, you have a meeting with the CEO of Shinji Group in an hour's time. I've been informed by his assistant that they are on their way here.”

Mr. Jeon nods his head and signalled for Jae to leave the room.

“Shinji Group huh? Let's get straight to business shall we, since you have another meeting coming up. How about we go into a joint venture? Your new hotel chain with our restaurant? I'll have my top chef to be the head chef.”

Mr. Jeon could only smirked at the proposition, “That sounds tempting but I believe that I should not be making any rash decisions. I'll discuss this with the board and get back to you as soon as possible.”

“Spoken like a true businessman. Alright then, we shall not hold you back any longer. I hope to hear from you soon,” Mr. Tuan stood up from his seat, followed by Mark and the Jeons, “Wonwoo, it was nice meeting you. I hope you and Mark will get along well in the future.”

“Ah yes, it was nice to see you again Sunbae,” Wonwoo forced a smile at Mark as he reaches out for a handshake.

Mark simply smirked at the comment as he accepted the handshake, “Me too Wonwoo, I hope to see you around soon. Oh, and send my regards to Noeul. It’s been ages since I last saw her.”

Wonwoo sighed as he loosen his necktie; he had an hour before Mr Yoon arrives for his lesson. What’s the relationship between Mark and Noeul? How do they know each other? Taking out his phone from his drawer, Wonwoo scrolled through his contacts before stopping at the one name he was searching for, Kim Noeul.

He pressed the message button and started texting her.

Hey, how's your studies?

Hi! Not too bad but I'm stuck at one problem.

Did you check the answer sheet?

Yeah, I did but I still don't get how they derived to that answer.

Take a picture of the question.

Wonwoo wait for a minute before receiving another text from Noeul. Attached were photos of the question as well as something which he wasn't expecting; a photo of herself.

Can you solve it?

Yeah, give me a minute.

Okie dokie!

Wonwoo took five minutes to solve the hard problem. He jotted down the answer, took a photo of it, and texted it to Noeul. After sending the message, he contemplated on whether or not to call her to explain his answer.

Ughh!

Wonwoo dialed Noeul’s number and pressed the call button.

“Hello?” Answered Noeul.

“Did you receive it?” he asked.

“Yeah, but how did you solve it? I still don't get it?”

Wonwoo sighed before taking his time to explain the problem and solution to Noeul. It didn't take long before Noeul finally understood the problem.

“Thanks Wonwoo! You're my saviour! Say, are you free tonight?”

“Tonight? I have something on till 8 PM. What's up?”

“Shall we have dinner together?”

“Dinner? Just us?”

“Y-yeah,” Wonwoo couldn't help but to smile at Noeul’s nervous reply, “I mean, it's not like I'm asking you out on a date. I mean come on!”

Wonwoo smirked at the comment, “Date? That never crossed my mind. Well unless you're really thinking of going out on a date with me. I mean, I totally understand.”

“Ya Jeon Wonwoo! Are you free or not? If you're not, I'll just ask Seungcheol.”

“Seungcheol hyung?! No! I'm free, I'll pick you up at 9 PM.”

“Alright, see you!”

“Yeah, bye.”

Wonwoo hanged up the call and he couldn't help but to smile from ear to ear.

“Did something good happen? Like you know, a date with the fiancé?”

Wonwoo got the shock of his life when he saw Mr. Yoon seated on the sofa in front of him, “Mr.Yoon! When did you arrive?”

“Ever since the dinner, just us? Yeah, I've been here since then but in my defense, I did knock on the door.”

The two hours lesson felt like a century for Wonwoo. He was too excited for the dinner that he wasn't able to pay any attention to what Mr. Yoon was saying. Should I get change? What if she wants to eat street foods again? I can't be dressed like this right?

“Wonwoo? Ya, Jeon Wonwoo!” Wonwoo’s train of thoughts was interrupted by the older male, “You know what? Let's just end it here for tonight. It looks like you weren't even paying attention this whole time.”

Wonwoo felt guilty, “I'm sorry Mr. Yoon. I'll make it up to you.”

“Never mind, you can go on your date. I'll tell your father I have something on tonight.”

“Really?”

“Yes, now go before I change my mind.”
