~Elise's POV~

At school the next day, I told Teresa the good news that Kyuhyun has agree to be my dance partner. I got a message from him this morning, saying he can make it to the dance. Just then, we heard a chuckle behind us, "How sweet. Your new boyfriend has agree to be your dance partner." I turned around and squeaked. It was Brittany!

"You almost give me a heart attack!" I scolded her. "Sorry. I just wanted to surprise you," said Brittany. "Yeah. Whatever. And FYI, Kyuhyun is *not* my boyfriend!" I reminded her. 

"You two look like a couple to me." I sighed with frustration. I had enough of her disturbance. "Look, Brittany! I had enough of you approaching me all the time! So, hear me loud and clear! I have found a partner and that's that! Stop bothering me and leave me in peace for once! Every time I see you, I want to gag! Don't act like you're my best friend, okay? We were childhood rivals!"

I saw Brittany's face looking upset. "Alright, fine!! You don't have to snap at me! I don't want to see you get upset about being left out, okay?! And why can't I be your friend, huh?! I want to change my ways from the past! Can't you at least give us a chance?!" I remain speechless. This is the first time my rival talks to me like that. "You know what? I'm just gonna leave you alone for now, if that makes you happy! I'm not gonna talk about it anymore! I'm outta here!!" she continued and storms away.

During History class, Teresa whispered behind me, "I think you better apologize to Brittany. She looks upset." I scibbled furiously on a piece of paper. "Why should I? She's a bothersome to me. She always does that since 1st grade," I whispered back.

"I know. But she's trying to change her way. She doesn't want to be your rival anymore. Just give her a chance, will you? Please don't make things worse. Let go of your past for once, Elise," said Teresa. However, the teacher heard our conversation and turned to our direction. "Excuse me, ladies! You can discuss about your personal stuff later. Now, please pay attention!" 

"Sorry, Mrs Wither," we both apologize and tried to concentrate in class. I was thinking about what Teresa said to me. Maybe she's right. Maybe I should give Brittany a chance to be my friend and let go of the past. After class, I saw Brittany pass by me with her friends. She didn't bother me anymore. But she still look angry. 

School has ended. I felt great to be released. But I just don't feel right about what happened today. If I had a chance to see my rival again, I'm gonna make things right. My mind was interrupted by the phone ringing. "Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, Elise. Are you busy now?" the voice asked. It was Kyuhyun. "Hi, Kyuhyun. No, I just finished school. What's up?" I replied with a smile. If anyone can cheer me up, it's Kyuhyun. "I don't have anything to wear for the school dance. My suits are all left in Korea. I need your help to get some outfit for me."

"Sure. I'll be happy to help you. When can we meet?"

"Tonight, if possible? My next shooting is at night."

I said okay and hung up. I drove straight to mom's cafe. I need to fill in for a waitress who is away on a holiday. I'm the temporary waitress. Sooyeon is also helping out. When I got there, she was already serving. "Hi, mom. Hi, Sooyeon. Sorry I'm late," I greeted as I enter. "No prob. You're just in time to help me out," said mom. 

I put on my apron and get to work right away. As I was busy taking away the dirty dishes on one table, I saw Brittany coming inside. This is my opportunity to apologize to her. With a heavy heart, I slowly approach their table. Brittany sighed and look away. Ginger place
