Long ago, the power of the elements was given by the gods to six individuals to use as they needed and to help maintain the order of balance within their world.  A seventh figure was given the ability to neutralize their power in order to keep them from destroying themselves.  In their time, they were able to accomplish much good and they helped the people to move forward in civilization and technology.  The seven persons though, were not immortal and after a time, they disappeared from the course of history.

                Years passed by and life carried on much as it always had.  Occasionally, another would rise who carried the power of a single element but without the balance of the others, and especially the neutralizer, each new elementalist was consumed by the power they wielded.  History showed that some burned out quickly, destroying themselves inadvertently, while others rose to power, often taking the form of tyrants who reigned fiercely.  Their fall was no less destructive, consumed by the power they sought to control with no thought of the consequences.

                 Now, in the year 746 AE (After the Elementalists) Enrhyll Larath has risen with the combined strength of all six elements and a neutralizer at his side with the intent to subjugate the world under his rule.  Claiming the title of a god, he has gathered an army run by fear; his conquest has been unmatched and unrivaled with none strong enough to match him.  In his campaign to bring the continent of Frinleth under his influence, his presence has spanned nearly the entirety of the land and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal of world domination.  The people are given but two choices: acknowledge Enrhyll as their god and accept his leadership or die.

                In the North easternmost reaches of Frinleth, secluded from the daily machinations of the world, exists a quiet retreat where a powerful secret has been guarded fiercely for generations.  Located in the farthest climes of the distant mountains, the bodies of the original Elementalists rest, preserved in ornate sarcophagi.  Housed within the decaying husks of the people that once lived, their spirits and the power they wielded remain dormant, waiting until the need should come again for their strength.

                To that end, the monks of the Northsage Monastery receive, train, and keep hidden the first born descendants of the Elementalists until such time that they are called upon to act once more.   For Leeteuk, Siwon, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Kharin, and Eleanara, the choice was never theirs to make, so the only life they know is the cloistered existence inside the monastery.  For the Neutralizer Summer Silverberg, her role was known from the moment of her birth.  Experiencing a normal life for but a short time, she too has shared the solitary isolation with the potential Elementalists, knowing only that she bore a power that may never be needed during her lifetime.

                Inside their sheltered world, they have no idea of the war that is quickly approaching; the war they will have to fight in, whether they are ready for it or not.
