Tonight had already been planned out for Joong Ki and Hye Kyo. Aside from the fact that they were shocking their fans by attending the Baeksang Awards together, they were seeing each other after the event to have dinner with their good friend, Yoo Ah In. 

"Are you ready? I'll be there in 5." Joong Ki texted Hye Kyo, as he leaned comfortably at the backseat of his van. He was excited to see Hye Kyo in that elegant, white dress that she fitted a few days back. For sure, she was going to be the most beautiful woman at the event and Joong Ki was lucky enough to have her not just as his date, but as his girlfriend. 

As he watched the buildings pass him by on the way to Hye Kyo's condo, his phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket. He was expecting to see his girlfriend's name pop up on the screen, but was surprised to see the name of woman from his past. 

"So Han Joo", it read.  

Joong Ki wondered why his ex-girlfriend suddenly had the urge to text him after 3 years of not seeing nor contacting one another. It wasn't as if they had a bad break up, but they didn't exactly have any reason to catch up anymore. Joong Ki had his own life, and Han Joo had hers. But still, Joong Ki did acknowledge that at one point in his life, he was in love with the woman. 

"Joong Ki sshi, I hope this is still your number. I have something very important to tell you, but I'd rather that I do, once we meet in person. Text me back when you get this. Thank you."

Joong Ki couldn't understand why he felt nervous and anxious over Han Joo's text message to him. "Why was she suddenly being this way?" He thought. Nevertheless, Joong Ki chose to disregard the message and focus on the Baeksang Awards, on Hye Kyo. He couldn't allow a simple text message to ruin such a wonderful evening. 

Though he tried to put his phone away, the message kept playing in his mind like a broken record. It was all that he could think about, that he hadn't noticed that they had already arrived at Hye Kyo's condo. 

"Um, Mr. Song?" The van driver said, pulling his client for tonight back to reality. "We're already in front of Miss Hye Kyo's condo. I think it would be right for you to call her."

"Uh.. neh, neh." Joong Ki cleared his throat. "Kamsahamnida." He added, clicking his girlfriend's number that was on his favorites' list. After two rings, Hye Kyo picked up. 

"Hey, handsome." She answered, her tone full of happiness. "Are you downstairs already? If you are, just wait for a few minutes. I'm just going to wear my gown."

Joong Ki smiled. 

"Gweanchanha, just take your time." He said. "I'll be right here, waiting for you." 

"Alright, Mr. Cheesy." Hye Kyo laughed. "I'll be done in 3." She added, ending the call. 

As Joong Ki put his phone away, he closed his eyes and cleared his mind of all the worry that Han Joo had caused him. He was sure that she had no intentions of getting back together with him because she wasn't that kind of girl. He was also sure that money wasn't the reason that she decided to text him out of the blue. But whatever the reason was, Joong Ki told himself that he wasn't going to give a damn tonight. He was going to walk the red carpet with his amazing girlfriend, and that's all that really mattered right now. Nothing else. 

Joong Ki had opened his eyes just in time to watch his girlfriend and her team get out of the elevator. He didn't know if her team was intentionally blocking his view of her, but it just made him all the more excited to see her. 

After a few seconds, the van driver hopped out of the car to open the door for Hye Kyo, and Joong Ki was no longer surprised when he too stood in awe at the sight of her. It took a few more seconds until the van driver finally opened the van door for her, making Hye Kyo laugh. 

"Kamsahamnida." Hye Kyo smiled.
