Finding the Past Me

Hello, it's been a while. Hopefully you like this chapter :) Enjoy~

Dumbfounded, I was met with no one. There were no signs of someone crying, no signs that anyone had dropped by. I put my hand to my chest, only to feel the rapid beating of my heart. Slowly, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Alice, you're so silly," I was greeted by a laughing Kyu Min. Confused, I glanced over to face her amused face. "You're still wearing your pants and old shoes," she explained as she unsuccessfully tried to contain her laughter.

I looked down to see myself wearing said clothes and fekt my cheeks warm up. Quickly, I closed the curtains, then opened them once again, this time without pants or shoes.

Flashing an embarrassed smile, I mumbled a quick, "Oops, I'm sorry." I tried to throw in a little aegyo with it, but seeing Kyu Min cringe slightly while laughing made me giggle.

Still laughing, she assured me, "It's not a big deal. Here, slip these on and come sit on the chair." She placed little black flats in front of me, which I quickly slipped on. I walked over to her and comfortably sat on the chair.

A quick touch up and I was ready. "You're the cutest!" Kyu Min exclaimed as she gave me a thumbs up, indicating her approval.

"Thank you!" I flashed her a big smile as I did the sunflower aegyo pose. She just laughed and shook her head.

I walked towards the body sized mirror, curious as to what I looked like this time. Contrasting to my more mature image earlier, I was more cute. To pair with the pink, blush spaghetti-strapped dress, I wore black flats that had a little black bow in the center. I wore a simple golden chain with a simple golden heart-shaped locket hanging dantily. My hair was in looser waves while my make-up was just softer.

I followed Kyu Min out, determined to not be alone. The stares of others had lessened wen they had realized my abilities, so I was no longer bothered by them. It was the fear of the voice, fear of the owner of the voice. Upon hearing it came an overwhelming feeling of ecstasy which was just as quickly replaced by an uncomfortable feeling...fear. I couldn't shake the contrasting feelings. I couldn't understand the feelings. It frustrated me.

"ce- Alice!" Kyu Min's voice rang in my ears. My head shot up to see a concerned look. "Are you okay? You seem out of it."

Giving a reassuring smile, I shook my head up and down. "I'm alright. Sorry to worry you."

"Alright," she said in a tone that indicated that she didn't believe me, "well, they're ready for you. Go head over to The8."

I looked over at the familiar boy waving, but the name and the boy didn't match. "The8?" I questioned as I recalled him being introduced as Minghao.

"Yeah, his stage name is The8 but his real name is Minghao."

"Ohhhhhhh~"

Happily I walked over and greeted him with a small bow. "Hello Minghao. I look forward to working with you."

"Likewise." He gave a soft smile as he reciprocated my bow. We quickly greeted the director before taking our positions.

The set contained the same blank white walls. However, instead of the tea party setting, there was a simple, plush sofa. Its cushions were of red velvet while the frame was a golden metal which twisted intricatly and beautifully, fragile yet sturdy.

I glanced at Minghao who just reassuringly smiled. One glance at his cuteness and I knew which mask to wear. Upon recieving his smile, I merely looked down and blushed. Minghao, dumbfounded, also looked down, slightly flustered. He sat down at one end of the sofa and patiently waited for me, most likely, to sit next to him. But I didn't sit directly next to him. I sat on the opposite end of the sofa, averting my gaze.

My body stiffened as Minghao and I awkwardly sat. Every now and then, we'd look over at each other, one's gaze would linger until snapping back down to stare at the floor as the other would look over. Mustering up enough courage, I outstetched my left arm, as the other rested in my lap, and gently laid my hand on the center of the sofa. I looked to the right, avoiding his gaze.

Feeling a foreign touch on my hand, I looked over to see Minghao, blushing and smiling shyly towards me as his right hand laid on top of my left hand. I held his gaze before breaking out into a small, adoring smile. Shyly, I looked back down, smiling happily to the floor, still feeling his loving gaze.

"Wait!" the photographer's voice boomed, surprising Minghao and me. We ruickly retracted our hands and looked over confused. "You two are doing great, really you are. One thing is missing though." He yelled out to no one in particular, "Someone go grab the red heart-shaped balloon!" He gave us a pleased smiled as we waited.

Seconds later, we were given the balloon. The photographer instructed us on how to hold it. The end of the string was held down by my palm while Minghao's hand resumed its comfortable position on top of mine. Taking a deep breath, we resumed our shy disporition.

Feeling that an ample amount of time had past, I slowly let the string slip from under my palm. As it drifted upwards, Minghao and I stared up at it curiously before beinging our gazes back down to each other. Just staring. The final flash went off, and I was brought back to reality.

I stood, bowed, and walked off with Minghao who was beaming. I listened to him fondly as he spoke excitedly with a mix of Chinese and Korean. Casually, he linked our arms, beaming like a child. I couldn't help but smile at how cute he was.

"That was fun! At first, I was taen aback by how you reacted, but then I realized that ou were just getting into character. It really felt like you were my cute, shy girlfriend which made me shy." With the last sentence, he looked at the ground slightly blushing.

"Aw, Minghao's gushing over Alice," a boy cooed. We looked over to see Mingyu accompanied by two males I didn't recognize.

"Hello Mingyu," I greeted. I merely gave a small nod of awknowledgment to the other two.

"I wasn't gushing," Minghao pouted. "I was just compliment her. Her talent is no joke."

Mingyu slung his arm around my shoulder, and I could feel Minghao's grip slightly tighten. Mingyu smirked, "Aren't you glad I got her to join and save us?"

Before Minghao could reply, one of the boys I didn't know answered, "Absolutly, I've heard so much about you and your acting ability." He was handsome, unmistakably handsome. His skin was a nice tan. His brown hair framed his well-structured face nicely. "My name it Wen Junhui. You can call me Jun." He outstretched his arm.

Smiling happily at the new friend, I reciprocated his outstretched arm with my free one and greeted, "Nice to meet you, I'm Alice."

"We've heard a lot of good things about you. Thank you for filling in last minute. We really appreciate it," the angel who walked in with Mingyu and Jun said. He was very pretty, very feminine, but still handsome. His hair was long, and I was rather jealous of how smooth it looked. "I'm Jeonghan, a pleasure to meet you."

I giggled at the way he phrased his greeting. "A pleasure to meet you too," I reciprocated. We all laughed a bit.

"She really is good at acting though," Minghao chirped in, looking down at me with a childish smile as he drew me in closer. I smiled at his fondness. "Her acting ability is not joke."

"Really? Jun, you may have some competition," Mingyu joked. The boys all laughed as I just polietly smiled, confused.

"Or maybe I just have another partner in crime," Jun suggested with a wink. I couldn't help but blush and laugh at his silliness.

Jeonghan patted my head fondly. "You guys are teasing her too much." He gave me a motherly smile which I reciprocated with a cheerful one.

"Ahem," a cough caught our attention. We shifted our gazes to see a stoic faced Jihoon. "Kyu Min is looking for you. It's time for the next shoot. You too, Jun, the stylist wants to do touch ups on you." He shifted a bit in his spot as he took note of the skinship. His eyes rested on mine briefly before he walked away. Despite his void face, his eyes held all his emotions. He looked conflicted...why?
