Author’s P.O.V

Little did they know, Myungsoo was outside of the teacher’s room hearing everything Sungyeol said. He was shock of course but knows well that this isn’t his free will. So he ran as fast as he could to find Sungyeol and finds him in the auditorium , hugging his legs.

“Hyung..”

“Eo? Ah.. Myungsoo-ah.” He said with a smile, it was fake. I knew it

“Hyung, are you okay? Why didn’t you come to practice?” Myungsoo asks.

“I—I quit the club.” Answers Sungyeol.

“Why didn’t you tell me? And why did you quit the club? You were so into it, what happen?” Again Myungsoo asks, worriedly.

“I have my reasons.” Sungyeol replies. “and I can’t tell you now.”

“I see… but the competition is getting closer…” Myungsoo trails out.

“Who gives a d*mn about that competition?! Yeah, Hayoung is back and so what?! Not everything is about her!” Sungyeol snaps and leaves Myungsoo who was taken a back by his best friends outburst.

“H-Hyung! Wait! That’s not what I-” Before he can even finish, he hear the door closes loudly signalling him Sungyeol is gone and probably doesn’t want to be bother right now.  

Sungyeol’s P.O.V

I got out of the auditorium of course still pissed off, how could he just simply told me to tell him that I quit the club. He might get angry at me and dump me as his best friend and said that I’m not faithful to him. ARRRGH THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING D*MN IT!! I throw all my frustrations to a mirror, I punched it so hard that it shattered. Then I went out to return to my dormitory but on the way I see Sungjong. I decide to ignore her but knowing Sungjong, I doubt she’d notice.

“Sungyeol-ah, Are you okay?! What happen?! Who did this to you” she asks, stopping me on my tracks.

“Am I okay?” I repeat “How could I be okay when I got hurt?!” I ask harshly

“Okay then, you need to get treated. Let’s go” She said holding my other hand and tries to get me to the infirmary but I refuse as I shove her hand away

“Just stay put, don’t follow me.” I said as I go back to my room, I find my best friend hasn’t return yet so I decide to get some rest. This day is already as frustrating as it gets.

Author’s P.O.V

At the meantime, Myungsoo is in the bathroom washing his face well to be precise splashing his face with water to calm down.

“Why is this happening to me?!” he nearly shout but scared that his roommates might be awake

The next day precisely during lunch, Sungyeol instantly gets out of class, Myungsoo who saw this already knows when he’s going.

“Sungjonggie, I’m sorry but I need to do something first. You have your free time now.” Said Myungsoo before catching up with Sungyeol.

Sungjong just nods confusedly and lets Myungsoo go on his way to find Sungyeol. In the end, Myungsoo finds him at the auditorium sitting down,

“Hyung?” he calls out, Sungyeol looks up and finds Myungsoo is now inside the auditorium and gets to one of the seats to be precise beside him

“I’m not sure about our friendship but I just can’t let something against us be like this.” Said Myungsoo, Sungyeol looks away but still listens

“I can’t let a simple problem like this ruin our friendship especially when we like the same girl at the same time.” Said Myungsoo

“What?! How—how did you know?!” gasps Sungyeol

“I just notice the way you look at Sungjong.” Answers Myungsoo

“I—I”

“Don’t worry. I’m not angry about that, besides we have other things to talk about. ” Said Myungsoo

“Well I will definitely move on from these feelings, don’t worry about it, I promise.” He said

“Come on! Give me your pinky!!” he whines, Myungsoo chuckles as he shows his pinky

“Yakseok.” Both said as they laugh

“Yah! What are we?! 12?!” Myungsoo laughs

“Yeah, I’m 12/10 compared to you.” Sungyeol replies.

‘Yak! You-”

“Uh oh… monster Myungsoo in coming!!” exclaims Sungyeol as Myungsoo chase after him around the auditorium

At the meantime, Ha Young is doing her punishment which is cleaning the whole school including mopping the floor. Just in time, her mother arrives

“U—umma! What are you doing here?” she gasps as she stands up from her mopping

“I’m going to meet the principal.” Answers Madam Oh

“Unfortunately, I don’t need that anymore umma. I’m fine here, I have good friends and my grades are going up again even though I can’t beat Myungsoo, I’m happy.” Said Hayoung, Madam Oh is ticked off but in the end she just left the school but still meets with Principal Choi to tell about the problem which is the minister of education going to their school and starts to do investigation about their cheerleading club

At the club room as usual as loud as possible not only because of the royals. The Baekho members are also the cause since they're now brave enough to be as loud as them and argue with them

“Yah! Do you think we can win first place?” asks JR excitedly

“Of course we can! We practice a lot.” Said Nam Joo with a smirk

“Even if we won’t reach first place, our target is second place!” exclaims Mrs. Kwon

“Go go go! We can do this!” exclaims Sungjong “Now 1, 2, 3!” she said

“Royals and Baekho, Hwaiting!” all of them exclaim

“Unnies, oppas, seonsaengnim!! I have a bad news!!” exclaims Ren as she approaches the circle and shows the news to them on her tab. “They’re going to disband us.”

“What?!” gasps Sungjong as her eyes widen

“It’s also posted on the school’s board!” she continues, all of them were shocked as they follow her to the student lounge and finds the news on their school’s board

“We’re back to normal then?” asks Ryeowook

“How is this supposed to be fun? I can’t stand being far from you guys.” Said Ren with a sigh

“Does this mean we’re not attending the school’s regionals?!” asks Sungjong

“Unfortunately.” Said Ha Young with a sigh “Let me call my mom.” She said as she calls her mother, all Madam Oh said is that she can handle this and don’t need to worry. Ha Young sigh as she ends the call.

“We’re going back to our previous lives.” Said Ha Young“Unfortunately.” She continues

“Aiish not that!” exclaims Hoya “Does that mean I’m going back to the basket club and my other clubs? But what about the royals?! Am I still part of them?”

“Well duh?” Sungjong sarcastically remarks. “besides, you’re technically banned because of this biss.” she adds, still petty af.

“Mianhe…” mumbles Ha Young with a pout, the other members just tut at the petty-ness.

“Let’s go, we need to know more.” Said Mr. Jung as both he and Mrs. Kwon goes to the teacher’s room to be precise the Principal’s office and finds Principal Choi is packing all of her things

“What happen here? What is going on, Principal Choi?!” asks Mr. Jung

“Well eventually she was fired.” Said Mr. Kim, both teacher ooh-ed  “And unfortunately, Mrs. Kwon you lost your job too, because you’re not teaching them anymore.” He continues

“What?” gasps Mrs. Kwon

“All of you guys are going back to normal, I will still teach English and be the principal *smirks*, Mrs. Kwon is going back to USA and you will still teach math and be the homeroom teacher for class 3-A.” said Mr. Kim, both teachers sigh

“Should we tell the kids?” asks Mrs. Kwon

“We probably should.” Said Mr. Jung as they go back to the club room.

As soon as they’re there, they’re all bombared by questions but Mr. Jung only hears Sungjong’s question since she said it first.

“What happen Mrs. Kwon? Mr. Jung?” asks Sungjong

“Unfortunately, this club is disband and we’re going back to normal. Sungjong and Myungsoo , you’re back as the leader of Royals and 백호. While Me, don’t worry I’m still here. But Mrs. Kwon has to go, she needs to go back to USA since she won’t be teaching you guys anymore.” Explains Mr. Jung “This is all the minister’s decision, there’s nothing we can do about it.” He continues

“Okay then, that’s all,  right? I’ll be going back to USA, or maybe I’ll stay here. bye guys.” She said as she gets out, all of them turn sad as they all run out

“Saem!!” Sungjong calls out, Mrs. Kwon turns around and looks at them with a smile

“Gamsahamida!” she said and the others follow as they bow in gratefulness

“Aww you’re welcome guys, oh and by the way, cheerleading is to cheer for each other, do your best.” She said as she continues to walk while they cope with their sadness in silence

Unknown by them, Sungyeol secretly watch their farewell in sadness.

‘It’s really disbanded?’ he thought ‘I need to ask some help from abouji.’ He thought as he goes to his father’s hospital to be precise was his office. As soon as he gets there. Sungyeol could hear that his father is celebrating his victory for disbanding the club. Sungyeol was furious and barge into his father’s office.  

“Abouji, are you really behind all this?!” he asks “Behind the disbanding of the club?!” he asks

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, go back to school before I hit you again!” Dr. Lee replies coldly.

“Father , I thought that if I quit I could at least save the club and my friends and this is what you do?!” asks Sungyeol

“It was to protect you.” Answers Dr. Lee

“Oh really? Or was it just to cover up mom’s corruption?” asks Sungyeol, Dr. Lee gasp as he slaps his son.

“Watch your words Lee Sungyeol!” he scolds

At the same time, Sungjong and Myungsoo are at the dorm halls, still sad about them being separated.

“Myunggie…” she calls out

“Mmmm?”

“is being a teenager this difficult? I mean for everyone else besides us” she asks with a pout  

“Well not in general. But in this case, it’s a yes. Because if we solve one problem another one will come out, basically it’s a life of a teenager it’s as simple as that, but solving it is the difficult part.” Explains Myungsoo

“Sigh, I thought following my heart is as simple as that, but I guess it’s not huh?” said Sungjong, Myungsoo didn’t answer her and still leans to the wall in sadness

The next day, the club members gather at their old club room which is baekho class room

“So guys, Since we’re not having cheerleading as our club and it was removed by the minister of education I know, it’s sad that we can’t do any cheerleading anymore …” said Sungjong, the other nods

“But, I really want to perform with you guys. Even though we don’t have any chance to go there. So what do you guys think we should do?” she asks

“Well what do you think we should do, leader-nim?” asks Hayoung

“Yeah, what do you think Sungjong-ah?’ asks Naeun

“I’m not sure about this, but even though this was actually forced to us we learn to love it, about what we should do, I might need more time to think. Is that okay?” Said Sungjong.

“Yeah, we’ll wait for it, don’t worry.” Said Ha Young

“Of course we will.” Said Ryeowook “Don’t worry.” He adds

During class time, Mr. Jung announce that Sungyeol is not here because he was really sick and his father wants him to be at home, both Sungjong and Myungsoo didn’t believe this and gets worried about Sungyeol. Because of this, Myungsoo goes to his house and ask to meet Sungyeol but the house owner told him that Sungyeol is not home, Myungsoo sigh

‘I probably need to talk to Mr. Lee.’ He thought as he goes to Dr. Lee’s hospital to talk to him. 

As soon as he's there he goes to the front table and sees a nurse there, 

“Excuse me, miss. Is Doctor Lee available now?” he asks

“do you have an appointment with him?” asks the nurse

“No, I have not. But is he available now? It’s urgent, it’s about his son.” Said Myungsoo

“Oh okay then, he wasn’t having anyone for now so he was available.” Said the nurse, Myungsoo thank her as he goes to Mr. Lee’s office to talk to him

At this office, Doctor Lee is still working on his medical reports. He was so focused until he hears a knock on his door.

“Knock…knock…”

“Come in!” said Dr. Lee.

At that, Myungsoo opens the door and enters the office.

“Good afternoon doctor.” Greets Myungsoo

“Aigoo Myungsoo-ah, it’s so nice to see you. Come on, sit down, sit down.” Said Doctor Lee in a friendly way, Myungsoo gives a smile as he sits down in front of Doctor Lee’s desk

“So, what brings you here, Myungsoo-ah?” he asks

“Actually I want to tell you something, it’s about Sungyeol.” Said Myungsoo, Doctor Lee nods, signaling him to continue “He was needed in school, please let him come back.” Pleads Myungsoo

“Is this about the cheerleading club? If so, he quits already.” Said Doctor Lee

“Ho—how do you know about that?” asks Myungsoo

“I told him to quit, aiish Myungsoo-ah, you should do the same. It will endanger you father’s image and your scores.” Said Doctor Lee

“Well actually my scores are safe and my father seems to be fine with it.” Answers Myungsoo “I’m so sorry and very sorry if you’re offended Doctor Lee but—“

“It’s okay, I won’t.” said Doctor Lee

“It’s not a good idea to treat your son like this, because of what he receives from you, he gets so frustrated with his life. Doctor Lee, I think you should stop treating him like this, that is not how you show your love to your son. That is all, hope this can convince you to let him participate. ” He explains, Doctor Lee is taken a back as Myungsoo bows and leaves him right there dumbfounded

Meanwhile, Sungjong is sitting on the backyard of the dorms

“Sungjong unnie?” Ha Young calls out

“Mmm? Hey, since when did you call me unnie?” she asks jokingly

“Just because you’re older than me hehe.” Answers Ha Young. “What’s wrong?” asks Ha Young as she sits beside her.

“It’s about our club…” she answers with a sigh.

“Hey, where did the old Sungjong go? She always tells everyone to do everything add that includes violating the school’s law!” exclaims Ha Young earning a sharp glare from the latter which makes her give a small ‘hehe’.

“My old self is really a rebel I admit, but now the case is bigger than your spec and all your dumb dumb stuff. So I think that using that method won’t end well.” Said Sungjong, Ha Young nods.

“I need some time to think too.” Said Sungjong

“I’ll wait for that, but don’t ever give up, and never run away like I did.” Said Ha Young giving a pat on her shoulder “come on, let’s get in it’s cold out here.” she said as she stood up, Sungjong laughs as she follows Ha Young back into their room. 

The days to the competition is nearing and nearing so they decide to take the club period as a meeting period.

“So, as I think for hmm 2 days actually I want you guys all to perform there with me, but this is all your decision. If you don’t want to do it it’s fine if you want that will be good.” Said Sungjong

“Oh and I almost forget whoever that decides not to come, don’t bash them like what we did to Ha Young before, never ever do that! Because it was their decision and we need to respect that.” She continues

“Hold up! What about Sungyeol? He hasn’t come to school for days!” exclaims Ryeowook

“I’ll bring him there, don’t worry.” Said Myungsoo. “with his consent of course.” he adds.

The next day Myungsoo sneaks out from his room slowly and quietly walk through the stairs finding the teacher still there

‘Oh no.’ he thought as he hid behind the balcony just in time Sungjong appears and hides beside him

“We should hurry up.” Whispers Sungjong, Myungsoo nods as they look around and ran out of the dorm in super speed before the teacher could even see them.

As they reached Sungyeol’s house, they both wait for both parents to go for their morning golf.

“Are they getting out or not, aiish.” Grumbles Sungjong earning a glare from Myungsoo making her whimper quietly.

 As the parents are out of the house and went for their morning golf, Myungsoo nods to her signaling that she can go and do the plan. The plan was pressing the fire alarm so the house owner will let Sungyeol out, Sungjong looks around and presses the fire alarm and runs back to Myungsoo with a grin on her face

“Let’s go.” Said Myungsoo as they got out from the basement back to the lobby

Meanwhile in Sungyeol’s room, Sungyeol is in panic because he hears a fire alarm and probably part of the building is on fire! 

“Ahjumma!!! Let me out!! There’s fire!! Ahjumma!!” he exclaims a he pounds the door so it will be opened. The house owner opens the door and lets him out, Sungyeol instantly runs out afraid of the fire but then a Cheshire cat appears

“Aiish you-!” grumbles Sungyeol as he hugs his best friend “I miss you so much.” He said

“Miss you too hyung, but we have to hurry. Pali.” Myungsoo replies as they both run to Sungjong who is waiting at the nearest park from the apartment.  

“we’re here!” exclaims Myungsoo as he points to the hamster beside him

“Yay!! You’re back,  I miss you hehe.” Said Sungjong

“Me—me too.” Mumbles Sungyeol shyly making Myungsoo laugh as they run to the competition building but Doctor Kim’s car catches Sungyeol’s attention

“Guys, go first, I have something to deal.” Said Sungyeol

“Are you sure?” asks Myungsoo, Sungyeol nods as Myungsoo and Sungjong runs while Sungyeol stays behind to talk to his father

“Oh no… what if he gets hurt! What if he gets—“

“Hush, even though I like your loyalty in friendship but calm down. Sungyeol needs to deal with this alone.” Said Myungsoo, Sungjong nods as they wait for Sungyeol. 

Now Sungyeol is standing in front of of his father's car as Dr. Lee comes out to scold him and force him back into the building. 

“Go back now.” Said Doctor Lee

“I’m sorry but I don’t want too.” Answers Sungyeol

“Mworago?!” asks Doctor Lee as he raised his to slap him but Sungyeol stops his hands. 

“I want to do that cheerleading thing and you’re not stopping nor you’re going to abuse me father.” Said Sungyeol as he lifts his sleeves and shows him the scars he makes because he was scared of his father

“Sung—Sungyeol.” Stutters Doctor Lee. “Wha—“

“I cut myself because I hate myself for not being a good son for you, but now I realize that not all of your words are 100% right. “ said Sungyeol as he walks away

“Lee Sungyeol! Get back here!” exclaims Doctor Lee but Sungyeol ignores him joining his two friends.

“Let’s go!” exclaims Sungjong as the three of them run to the competition building. As they reach the competition building, they can’t seem to find the members.

“Aiish I knew it!” Grumbles Sungjong with a frown on her face. 

“Hey, look!” said Sungyeol, the whole team member rush in scolding the three of them

“Where were you?!” Jonghyun scolds as the three of them roll their eyes

“We were trying to get this guy back.” Said Sungjong “and it seems to be we’re in the wrong spot, let’s go.” She said, all of them rush to the administration table and tell him they want to participate on the competition. But unfortunately they weren’t allow to participate for some reason. 

“What?!” gasps Sungjong

“How is that supposed to be possible?!” asks Ren before Sungjong holds her back

“Are you sure we can’t really super definitely absolutely can’t participate?” asks Myungsoo, the administration person nods

“yes.” He answers

“Oh no, what are we gonna do…?” Mumbles Sungjong  

“Stop right there!” a familiar voice shock all of them, it was Mrs. Kwon

“Kwon sensenim!” all of them exclaim in glee

“They’re all with me, and I’m the committee for this event.” She said with a smile, the administration person just stare at her confusedly as the others were smirking

“So?” he asks

“So, that means they can participate right?” she asks

“NO!” exclaims the administration

“Of course we can! You kids, go and get ready.” She said as they cheer and go to the changing room to get ready

“So, we really can’t participate do we?” asks Mrs. Kwon with a sad expression

“Unfortunately you can’t.” said the administrator

“Please?” pleads Mrs. Kwon as she kneels down just to beg for the permission. The administrator just looks at her confusedly but finally complies and lets her join the competition.

Meanwhile, all of them are dressed up for the cheers competition

“Alright everyone! Last practice!” exclaims Sungjong as they get in position and practice

“1, 2 ,3 4, 5, 6, 7—Yah! Kim Myungsoo, you’re not concentrating!” she scolds

“Huh?”

“Pfft.” Sungyeol snickers earning a glare from Myungsoo

“Yah, how could you laugh at me like that?” pouts Myungsoo.

“He’s doing it right, though.” Said Sungjong as they did a bro-fist “Come on, again.” She said as the practice continues

Suddenly Ren barges into the dressing room in panic.

“Unnie! We have bad news!” she exclaims

“What bad news?” asks Sungjong

“Follow me.” She said as they go to the main entrance near the stage and saw the last year’s champion competing again and it’s really intimidating

“They’re so good at this, are you sure we’re going to win this? I don’t think second place will be ours anymore.” Said Sulli with a sigh

“Yak, it doesn’t matter anymore, the thing Is we come here to have fun, winning is only a bonus.” Said Hayoung, all of them nod as they team hand-stack

“One two three.”

“Royals and Baekho! Hwaiting!” they exclaim in unison laughing

“Next up is from inspirit academy!” announces the host of the day, the audience starts to whisper about them being on the competition and starts to talk about the corruption which makes Hayoung’s heart sink down, down and down

“Hayoung-ah, don’t listen to them. Let’s do this.” Said Sungjong as they go to the center of the stage

“You can do it guys!! don’t mind what they say about you! Go and have fun!!” surprisingly Mr. Jung is there, they look at him in shock

“Go for it! Just have fun!” exclaims Mrs. Kwon, they nod as they first bow to the audience before getting into position

Even though their choreography isn’t as good as the other teams especially the last year’s champion, at least they own the crowd and have fun. Last but not least, they close their performance with a board saying

‘I’m cheering for the ‘me’ today.’

The crowd cheer for their good performance as they bow down and exit the stage

“Good job!” exclaims Sungjong as they return backstage to meet both teachers

“Great job guys, we’re proud of you.” Said Mr. Jung

“Yay!! We did it!!” exclaims Sungjong

“Hoooraaay!!” the other join her in happiness

The next day at school they’re all celebrating their fun in the club room

“Even though we don’t get the second place being the last place is fine too, at least we won the popularity award.” Said Naeun

“And best costume.” Adds Sulli

“Oh and don’t forget the face of last year champions, it was so funny, they lost best costume award.” Said Ren laughing

“Tsk. It’s not like they won first place, bunch of weirdos.” They could hear some other students talking behind their backs, Sungyeol breaths in and out trying to calm down so he won’t go out there and yell at them

“Oh come on! At least we won popularity award and best costume award.” Said Sungjong “Don’t be bother by those guys.” she said, they nod in agreement before laughing again
