Donghae’s body covers in his own sweat as he keeps punching the heavy bag in front of him. Although his body is screaming for rest, he is nowhere near slowing down.

A mellow song is blaring through the speaker that attached to his phone. He is going to change the song but upon hearing the lyrics, he freezes for a moment.

Close your eyes, close you ears,
I feel the love
Even if I can’t catch you, even if
I can’t hug you, love is you

Donghae sighs as a certain woman appears in his mind. He closes his eyes, hoping to keep her in his mind as long as he can.

I hope the longing that is hidden
in the sunlight can tell you my heart

He clenches his fist tightly as he slowly raises it and hit it to the heavy bag in front of him. Still with his eyes closed, he repeated his action.

Love is the moment, the day,
the moment I let you go
My heart stopped, time stopped,
it keeps hurting

He opens his eyes and forcefully smacks the heavy bag. Immediately, the memory of him leaving Yuri comes flooding around his mind.

-Flashback-

Donghae kept his hand in his pocket as he was walking near Yuri’s office. The doctor words about his mom were roaming around his head. Yesterday’s event was playing like a video player in his mind, how he saw his mom laying down on the floor covered in bruises with men surrounding her, how he kept calling his mom as he pounced and hit every men that he saw, until his own eyes caught a man that was sitting at the center of the room.     

“What are you doing here?” Donghae clenched his fist as he saw the man who is the ‘boss’ also seemed shock to see him. “Why did you do it? What did my mom do to you for you hurting her like this? Don’t you have any mercy left? Why? Tell me why were you hurting my mom?!” Donghae was being held back by the other men as he looked at the ‘boss’ with his eyes that full of hatred.

“You want to know the reason, huh? Because your mom took everything away from me. My family, my life, everything that I’m supposed to have. Your mom has made my own mom suffer and I’m not going to stay silent because of that.”

Donghae laughed sarcastically. “My mom ruined your family? What are you talking about, huh? You have the most caring family ever, you still don’t feel satisfied with that?”

“I’m talking about my real family here. I was adopted to the Kwon at eight, because I had no family left back then, and this woman here is the cause of that.” The ‘boss’ glared at the unmoving lady on the floor as he signed his men to move out.

He walked toward Donghae as he stared at him sternly, “You better keep this event shut from the world. Just remember that I could make your mom suffer more than this and you can’t always protect her.” He smirked haughtily as he walked away.

Donghae quickly grabbed his back and forcefully turned his body around so they were facing each other. “You still owe me an explanation as of why are you saying my mom is the one that ruin your life. It could be a miss understanding, my mom would not do that to anyone!”

He could see the ‘boss’ laughed out loud before snarling, “You haven’t even born at that time. Your mom here has taken away my dad from me and my mom. Since that day, you don’t know how hard it was for my mom to raising me alone, until she suffered in a dreadful illness and passed away.” The ‘boss’ eyes shifted to a gloomy one as he took a deep breath. “If you want your mom to be safe and sound, you better keep her out of my sight. I am serious about that, who knows what crazy thing that I could do to your mom.” His evil laugh erupted the room as he walked toward the door.

“I would protect my mom no matter what, take my words for that, you monster!” Donghae shouted from the top of his lungs as the ‘boss’ disappeared from his sight.

“Oppa, what happen to your face?” Donghae brought back to reality as he stared at Yuri as the woman caressed his bruised face gently. The woman kept talking to him but he didn’t hear her as his focus was fully on her face. The way Yuri’s concern eyes scanning his face as Donghae could saw the pain in her eyes. He knew that it hurt Yuri to saw her boyfriend covered in bruises.

He took a deep breath as he was trying to remember all of the feelings that he feels whenever Yuri was around, because his next action would automatically take all of his feelings away, leaving him with emptiness.

“Let’s break up.” He couldn’t believe that he actually said those words to her. He tried his best to show no expression at all as he saw h
