“why are you taking Chem?” Baekhyun exclaimed, after they had compared schedules (Luhan had 2 similar periods with Baekhyun- Dance and free period).

“I need one more math credit, for a total of four” Luhan replied,

“you realize you only need 3 credits right?” Baekhyun stated,

“yeah- but it’s better to get four, because my university wanted me to have a challenging schedule-"

the bell rang to signify the begining of the day,

“well, I’ll see you later” Luhan said to Baekhyun,

“Later dude” Baekhyun said as they parted ways.

People whispered and pointed to Luhan as he walked smoothly down the hallway. His bestfriend Yingwen smiled at him and mouthed "nice hair you hottie" as she walked away. Luhan felt his face heat up a little, did people really notice the difference? He shook off his thoughts, this was the first day of school, he had to get to class on time, and impress all his teachers. The popularity thing can come later...

Luhan walked swiftly into his Honors English IV class and made a beeline for the  front row- well that was until Xiumin grabbed his wrist.

“here Luhan” Xiumin drags Luhan into the 2nd row

“Xiumin!-” Luhan starts to protest, but Xiuming just cut him off

“didn’t you want to change things up?”

“...”

Xiumin raises his eyebrow

“fine” Luhan plops down into a seat, totally oblivious to Xiumin’s little smile

(flashback)

While Luhan and Baekhyun were busy comparing schedules, Chen and Xiumin were busy listening to Sehun’s conversation with Kai.

“why did I get put into honors english iv?” Sehun growled

“because you’re smart” Kai responded with a bored tone

“now I actually have to work” Sehun grumbled as he folds up his schedule,

“Xiumin, don’t Luhan and Sehun have the same english class as you?” Chen whispered,

“yep” was all Xiumin said

The 2nd bell rings to signify the start of next class and all the students settle down except one student who was sliding his way into the classroom. Xiumin was the first to notice the tall boy make his way down the aisle to the second row, Luhan was too busy getting his pens and notebook. No one noticed Sehun stiffen a little when he saw Luhan sitting in the 2nd row.

“Sehun, please take a seat” the teacher had walked into the room in time to see Sehun standing in the aisle like an idiot. Sehun just bowed to the teacher and scooted past Xiumin, and sat plopped down in the seat right next to Luhan. Luhan, who was still oblivious to what was happening, finally looked up. When Luhan and Sehun’s eye met, they both froze.

Luhan was the first to recover and look away. Sehun found himself still staring at Luhan. Sehun looked away first and leaned back in his chair. The teacher began to talk and pass out sheets of paper for them to put in their english notebooks. At one point the teacher asked for them to get out black pens to lable their file folders. Sehun only had a red pen, and he cursed himself for not going school shopping. He saw the extra pens sitting on Luhan's desk, what if I just took one, would he notice? Sehun was so tempted to just snatch one away, but instead he turned to Luhan

“can- uh- I mean… can I borrow a pen hyung?” Sehun found himself asking before he could do anything about it,

“Huh? Wait- were you…” Luhan looked around and pointed at himself “oh- uh” he scratched his head and sheepishly got  out a pen, “here”

“thanks man” Sehun responded as he took the pen from Luhan’s outstretched hand, his fingers grazing over Luhan's fair skin

“ha, no problem” Luhan responded softly, and quickly looked away to hide his small smile. Meanwhile, Sehun clicked the pen he’d gotten from Luhan, and felt his lips twitch into a small smile.
