I was about to update on Thursday but I hit a snag so it's for today. The chapter was long at first, too long to digest so I cut it in two. I hope you'll like the update. Also, I would like to thank the people dropping their reactions, it's so fun for me to read you guys. Sorry if I take some time to answer though, I'm pretty busy nowadays with coming back to University and my job. Anyways, love you guys !

“That is all an act.” Sunggyu thought in front of the mirror of the hotel room where he was getting ready. “I’m participating in this masquerade because I have to. I will find a way to put things right again.”

He heard a knock and turned around to see his sister coming in.

“Noona…” he said, surprised by the dejected and apologetic look on her face. It wasn’t like her to look so gloomy and guilty.

She walked to him and chased his hands away to do his tie herself, tying it on a perfect Windsor knot.

“Thanks.” he smiled at her, checking at his reflection in the mirror.

From behind, she dusted of his blazer and smoothed the fabric on his shoulders before wrapping her arms around him, her chin on his shoulder. They looked at each other through the mirror and Sunggyu noticed her teary eyes. He was about to ask why she was in that state when she spoke.

“I’m sorry Sunggyu-yah. I’m so sorry.” she whispered. “I’ve always promised myself that I won’t let them do to you what they did to me. I’m so sorry I failed you as your older sister. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to protect you.” She let out a broken dry sob.

Sunggyu turned around embrace his sister, patting her back to comfort her.

“Noona, you’re not to blame for anything.” he reassured her. “You’re the only one who had always been on my side, even on the harshest paths. I could never hold a grudge against you because you’re not at fault for anything. If it wasn’t for your support, I think I would crumble.” he confessed.

“How could they do this ? Force you to marry that woman… I know you’ll never be happy with her. I know what I’m talking about. I also had someone in my heart when they forced me to marry Park Ji Sung-shi. They say love comes with time, but I know I will never love my husband. Not the way I loved my ex-boyfriend. I’m condemned to be unhappy. I would have divorced if it wasn’t for the sake of my son. Jihyunie is my heart and joy. I only live thanks to him. I don’t want this for you. You can walk away. Go back to the one you love and be happy. Let them keep their business and their money, it doesn’t give happiness. Happiness can only be found with people you love Sunggyu-yah. Just stop this nonsense and leave before it’s too late.”

Sunggyu moved by his sister’s story. He knew of course, but it was always a painful reminder that their parents basically sold their daughter for the sake of Millennium’s business.

“I can’t leave noona.” He sighed. “Millennium is my life, I can’t abandon it.”

“Millennium won’t keep you warm at night.” she told him. “Millennium will never be able to fill the void you are about to dig into your heart.”

Sunggyu sighed, suddenly feeling exhausted.

“Noona, I will tell you something, but it must stay between us.” He said, ready to open to her about his plans. It was just too painful to see her worry like that over him.

She nodded immediately, looking at him seriously.

“Noona, I don’t intend to marry her.” Sunggyu said calmly.

She looked at him like he had gone crazy.

“Sunggyu-yah, this is your engagement party. What do you think happens next ?”

“It won’t happen to me.” he stated firmly. “Not with her anyway. You know I already have someone I love, someone I wish to spend the rest of my life with. It won’t be her noona. It’d never be her.”

“How ?” she asked. “I thought father let you no choice, that it was either our family and Millennium or him.” she asked, dumbfounded.

“I will go along with father’s wishes until I find a way to have both. I will make it possible.”

“You’re such a dreamer Sunggyu-yah.” She held her hand to caress his cheek. “You always have been.”

“You always encouraged me.” he smiled.

She nodded, smiling back.

They headed out since the reception was in the ball room downstairs. In the lobby, they had to fetch Jihyun. They saw him from afar, pouting, visibly bored. Sitting on a chair and wait was obviously a torture for the lively little boy.

“Jihyunie !” Sunggyu called out his nephew.

The toddler raised his head, looking around to see who called him. A wide happy smile flourished on his face when he saw his mother and uncle and he got up quickly to run to them.

“Uncle Gyu !” the boy shouted as he throw himself into his uncle’s arms.

Sunggyu caught on the boy easily and lift him up without effort.

“Aigo, our Jihyunie is so handsome today !” he praised his nephew. “Uncle is supposed to be the most handsome tonight but Jihyunie is even more handsome. What should I do ?” he faked to deplore.

“Uncle Gyu is the most handsome grown up and I’m the most handsome kid.” Jihyun said proudly.

“And you’re so smart on top of that.” Sunggyu said, bouncing the little one in his arms, triggering a joyful laugh.

“Sunggyu-yah, he’s going to wrinkle your clothes.” His sister pointed out with a tender smile at the scene. “Our Jihyunie is a restless child.”

“I don’t mind.” Sunggyu said. “Jihyunie, let’s go to the party together huh ?”

“Yay !” the boy raised his arms in the air, content. “Mommy, can I sit with Uncle Gyu ?” he asked his mother, pouting.

“I don’t know baby. Your uncle will be busy with the guests and his fiancée.” She answered.

“Jihyun can stay with me noona.” Sunggyu pointed out. “If anyone dare to say something, I’ll deal with them personally.”

“Uncle Gyu, is that true that this whole building is yours ?” Jihyun asked curiously. “It’s so big !”

“This building belongs to Millennium Conglomerate, the business of your grandfather. I only manage it.”

“What does it mean, manage ?”

“It means that I work for it to be the best and bring lots of money.” Sunggyu chuckled, tickling the boy’s side. Jihyun squirmed, ticklish.

“Jihyun-ah, you must be hungry right ? There is a lot of delicious food in the party so we should go and try everything there, don’t you think ?”

“Yes yes yes !” he clapped his hands happily. “Uncle Gyu, do they have French fries ?”

“I don’t think so, but since your uncle manage this hotel, I’m sure I can ask someone to make a huge plate of French fries for you.”

Jihyun hugged him tight all of sudden, and despite being surprised, he hugged him back by reflex.
