Guardian Angel
Haneul woke up the next morning with a bad headache. She got up and managed to get herself to the bathroom and take a painkiller. She then leaned on the wall and just waited a little while with her eyes closed. It has been a long time since she had such a headache, and it usually would happen when she would drink, but last night at the party she didn't drink. Strange.
She rubbed her forehead a little in hopes that the pain would go away or at least reduce it a little bit. She had a lot of work to do today and this wasn't helping her at all, the longer she waited the lesser chances were that she was going to finish anything on time and she hated rushing. She walked out of the bathroom and back to her bedroom. She decided to lie down a bit more and see if the headache stops.
She yawned and rubbed her forehead before slowly falling asleep again.
It was a day off for Jong Suk so he wanted to stay at home and do some research. Ji Hoon already left leaving a message that he had to meet up with some of his old friends and that he would be back late. Jong Suk made coffee and walked back to his room. He sat down at his desk and the laptop. He checked his e-mail and then opened a few files that he got from one of his friends.
He started to carefully read them and take notes. For now, he couldn't say what exactly he was trying to figure out, but he hoped that these files would help. He searched for some old photos and compared them with the new photos he got. No luck so far. None of them looked like her. Years have past but Jong Suk was sure that she didn't change much. He leaned on his chair and looked out the window. He took a sip out of his coffee cup and then put it back on his desk.

Because even though they cannot be seen,
I know that
what I feel is real
I am afraid of
the silence of the time
when I lose what you’ve left behind
I don’t need tears; I don’t need the present
Because nothing will change
Close your eyes and hold me
Because if we do that, then both you and I
will not be alone
I look up at the winter sky, that faraway sky
What can you see from there?
Beyond this, there is a path
that continues to someplace,
leaving promises unfulfilled
Both Jong Suk and Haneul lost track of time. Haneul woke up and it was already nighttime, it was a bit difficult for her to believe that she spent the whole day sleeping. She made her way over to the window by her bed and looked out for a moment. She touched the window and felt the coldness as her hand was becoming imprinted on it. For some strange reason, she liked when the weather was cold enough to leave her handprint on the window.
But in some creepy way, her handprint made it look like someone else left it there and it could become a scary moment. She caught herself laughing at her silly thought and looked up at the clouds. The smile on her face slowly faded as she couldn't help but know it was going to happen.
For many years she always knew when it was going to snow. She never could figure out how she knew, it was like a gift she happens to have and she always went out for a walk when she knew. It didn't matter what time of the day it was, she loved experiencing the moment when the snow starts as a flurry.
Haneul moved from her window to her closet getting her dark purple sweater over her head and grabbing her fluffy winter coat to keep her warm. She had her hair up for the whole day and since she was going out, she let it fall loose letting her reddish-brown hair fall past her shoulders. She placed her matching dark purple scarf around her neck and grabbed her matching beanie.
Somehow she felt giddy and wasn't sure why. Usually, when she went out for a walk when it's going to snow she doesn't get too excited it was just a mutual feeling of happiness seeing snow for the first time as a child. Haneul slipped on her shoes and placed her beanie on before stepping out of her apartment. She walked down a few steps and started walking down the sidewalk. She didn't want to stay out long either so she promised herself for only an hour, and that was only because she needed to go back home and start on her work.
She stopped by an open corner store and bought two hot packs for her hands and placed them in each of her pockets letting her hands be warm. She continued her walk as the crisp cool wind hit her face and made her nose cold. But it didn't matter. She liked it. Her favorite season was winter and she was enjoying herself.
It had been an hour since Jong Suk went to bed. Yet all he kept doing was tossing and turning. Somehow his brain was on but his eyelids were trying to close to sleep but he couldn't fall asleep. It was like a fly flying around the room buzzing. He felt irritated with himself and sat up in bed.
He ran his hand through his hair and let out a groan. He wanted to sleep since he had to go to work the following morning and meet his father again. Maybe that was the reason why he couldn't sleep. His mind was thinking about his father and what would happen. He never understood why his father was
