Guardian AngelShe arrived home and left the files in her office. The meeting with her boss took all day so at this point, she had no time to sit down and relax. She petted Z and just as she was about to leave her apartment again her phone rang and she reached for it. Ji Chang was calling She smiled and picked it up.
"Hello?" She said.
"I'm in front, waiting for you." He said.
"I have a party to attend, sorry." She replied.
"I know and I'm driving you there." He added.
"Are you sure about that?" She asked.
"Yes." He answered.
They hung up and she quickly put her shoes back on, grabbed her jacket, and left the apartment. She called the elevator and in about a minute or so it arrived and she got in. She pressed the ground floor and leaned on the elevator wall, waiting. The elevator came to a stop and the door opened. She walked out of the elevator and headed out of the building. She saw a black Hyundai i10 parked in front and she headed in its direction. She opened the door and got in.
"Hey there." Ji Chang smiled.
"Hey. How was your day?" She replied and buckled up.
"Not so bad, and yours?" He asked.
"I had more peaceful days." She replied.
He started the engine again and drove off. They started talking about their day and it helped her relax. She was actually happy that he was going with her. It gave her some security since there were some people she didn't want to see, but with him around she can avoid them.
Ji Chang saw her as a sister and he would do anything to protect her, and protecting her also meant that he can never tell her the truth about himself. Sometimes that bothered him a lot, but he had no choice. The fact that he was an Angel had to be hidden. For good. It was all for her sake, and her safety, until the time is right. He hoped that she will understand and accept it.
Haneul and Ji Chang arrived at the location where the party was and she already didn't feel good. People were all around the place and some of them she knew. Her relatives. There were a few cousins that she never got along with.. well she tried, but it never went well. She forced a smile and headed towards the table where her cousin was. Ji Chang followed and looked around.
"You came!" He said.
She nodded her head and hugged her cousin.
"Happy birthday." She said.
"Thank you. I am very glad that you came." He said.
"You knew I would." She said.
He nodded his head and let go of her. She opened her backpack and handed him his present.
"I hope you like it." She said with a smile on her face.
"Thank you." He replied.
She sat down at one of the tables with Ji Chang and some of her cousins joined them including the birthday boy. They all started talking and from time to time other people would come to the table and wish him a happy birthday. More and more people arrived by every minute and all of a sudden the music started. Her cousins ordered drinks for everybody. This was going to be one hell of a night for them that is. She had no intention of staying at the party late into the night.
Jong Suk was in the kitchen helping around. He couldn't feel his legs, but he had no time to rest. His boss was on his case and he kept telling him to hurry up. Ji Hoon was the DJ so even if he wanted to help he couldn't. There were other waiters too but same as Jong Suk they were also busy. He picked up some drinks and headed back to the crowd.
He walked over to table five and served the drinks. Before he could leave to serve another table Haneul's cousin grabbed him by the arm and ordered another few drinks. Jong Suk nodded his head and walked off. He had to have a smile on his face no matter what. Haneul acted like she was having fun, but truth be told she wasn't, she just spent most of the time talking with Ji Chang. She waited for her cousin to get really drunk so she can leave.
The party continued late into the night and Jong Suk kept walking back and forth, from table to table, more than half of the people there were drunk. He sighed and continued to do his job. Haneul got up and slowly walked away from her cousin. He was so drunk that he didn't even realize it. She then quickly ran out of the cafe and took a deep brea
