Chanyeol held the fragile, shaking body in his arms as his heart twisted and writhed in pain. His Baekhyun, his poor Baekhyun… he must be hurting so much. He heard Junmyeon shout and he looked away from the boy he yearned with his life, only to see the puddle of dark scarlet on the wooden planks.  

The blood that came from inside of the boy he loved so much.

His mind was blank as he pulled Baekhyun’s pale lips apart with a trembling thumb. He hated the traces of dark red that lined his teeth and gums. He hated the sweat that was starting to seep from his hairline. He hated everything that hurt him.

A voice was pounding on the walls of his thoughts, trying to prod into the huge fog that had replaced his brain. Chanyeol didn't want to listen. He wanted to hold Baekhyun, hold him until he stopped hurting, hold him until he smiled with his eyes and told him he was okay.

So when he felt the small body being wrestled out of his arms he yelled and tried to take it back as gently as possible, but Luhan’s fierce eyes were in his way and he was shouting, “Snap out of it, Chanyeol! He needs the hospital!”

He blinked and let go. Minseok snatched a large down coat from the chair and wrapped Baekhyun’s limp body in it, then Luhan carried him on his back into the freezing night. They ran to the car and Minseok helped lay Baekhyun down on the back. Sehun and Jongin were still staring at the pool of blood on the floor. Jongin looked like he was about to cry.
