"Even if it's just for a second, let me love you."

In the spur of the moment, she ran. Not for a moment did she turn back. Trodding through the snow, her legs soon felt heavy. She heard someone gaining on her; crunch, crunch, crunch. She was too afraid to look back- afraid of the confrontation, afraid of him. Eventually, her legs gave way and crumpled into the metre-deep snow. The footsteps slowed. A hand grabbed her arm. She tried to fight back but she had absolutely no energy left. She could barely keep her body upright, let alone struggle against the grasp. 

"Calm down!"

She paused. Realising the voice did not belong to him, she turned around and saw a face she was not expecting to see.
