BGM: EXO - The First Snow (read the translations)

After exiting her campus' main door, Hyerin looked up and almost immediately spotted the man leaning casually against his sleek white Chevrolet Corvette. She tightened her grip on the strap of her bag as she started taking hasty steps towards him. At that time, Hyerin couldn't deny the fact that he looked smoking hot on that cold winter afternoon.

The more steps she took towards him, the more she felt her cheeks burning into a hotter and deeper color. Regardless, she wanted this night to go well. Hyerin wanted to show him that after all the years he's been gone, she has completely forgotten and moved on from him. She also wanted to thank him for giving her a valuable life lesson he probably never realized giving.

"You look really beautiful."

Those were the first words that escaped his lips when he first saw her standing elegantly in front of him. Her long, silky chestnut hair was brought to the side and she was wearing a black coat dress and a pair of simple white knee-high winter boots. The things that topped off her look was her grey slouch bag, a white scarf and the usual soft layer of make-up on her milky white skin. To Chanyeol, it was a beautiful sight that felt very, very similar, and after observing every inch of her face once more, he finally realized that the only thing that changed was how mature she come to be. If any other man had to be put into Chanyeol's shoes, they'd definitely find themselves falling for her all over again.

"Thank you," She softly muttered before sheepishly lowering her head to hide her growing tomato face behind her chestnut hair.

Chanyeol helped her climb into his sports car and closed it before jogging his way from the front towards his side of the vehicle. After they both buckled up, Hyerin was sitting silently on the passengers seat with her hands fiddling on her lap as she waited for him to start the engines, but he never did. Curiousity then got the better of her and she was forced to see why Chanyeol wasn't moving.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

It looked like Chanyeol just gotten snapped out of his trance when he answered her with a voice that didn't seem too convincing, "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine. Lets go then." After the small but rather awkward smile he flashed at her, Chanyeol finally started the car before driving away to the first place he planned for them to go to.

"So, how's um, Luhan?" Chanyeol asked. He thought that maybe Hyerin was too shy to start a conversation first, so he did it instead.

"Luhan's fine." She simply answered, her eyes still wandering out the window.

"Tell me if he does something bad to you, okay?"

With her soft voice, she managed to answer, "Okay." before the silence continued to invade the air.

The 15 minutes of sitting silently with loud and heart-clenching thoughts running in her mind finally came to an end. Only a second past after Chanyeol parked his car against the side-walk and he was already seen handing out his strong hand for her to accept. He helped her out of the car just like how he helped her in. It only took a while for her to realize where he had taken her. Hyerin couldn't stop the rapid pounding of her heart that was hiding underneath her ribcage at the thought of Chanyeol possibly remembering all of her favorite places back in high school.

"You remembered." She mumbled behind her scarf.

Chanyeol chuckled softly as he watched her side profile tenderly. "Yeah, of course. Back then, we used to go here almost every time when we were bored."

It was only in a matter of seconds before Hyerin brought her gaze up and locked eyes with him. She completely forgot about her plan to keep herself guarded and only say the needed thank you's. Thus, when she finally remembered, she quickly shook her gaze off of him making him sigh in disappointment. It wasn't disappointment that was directed towards her, but more towards himself.

"So uh, shall we?" he was about to hold her hand that was hanging besides his own, but stopped abruptly when she brought it towards her bag strap. Smooth move, Chanyeol.

They headed into the shop and the warmness of the room quickly enveloped their bodies. Indeed, to them it was just like high school all over again.

Chanyeol purposely took her to the spot that was near the window, close to where the band was playing. His first intention taking her to the cafe was to make her forgive him for all the mistakes he's done in the past. For foolishly letting her go and leaving her heartbroken. At first, he wanted her to come back to him so they can start anew, but after remembering about what his parents said about her engagement with Luhan, he didn't have the heart to steal her away.

Therefore, after rethinking about their whole situation for three nights straight, he figured that it'd be better if they go their own ways. As friends, and as a future brother and sister relationship. No matter what their relationship will turn out after that night, he just wanted her to forgive him from the bottom of her heart.

"I'm gonna get choco-cream flavored. Let me guess, you want cookies and cream?" Chanyeol asked with a smile after placing his coat over on the chair.

She smiled back and nodded in reply. After flashing her another one of his infamous grin's, Chanyeol left her to order their drinks.

Not that she's too old to begin with, but at that time Hyerin felt like she was having another adventure in her young teen years. It's been a while since she left her house knowingly with someone other than Minyoung or her driver but for some crazy reason, she was glad she chose to agree to go out with him--not as in a date though.

Missing him was a fact that couldn't be concealed. She didn't want anyone to know about how she truly felt, but how was the pressure that was on her shoulders supposed to dissappear if she kept all of those things to herself? There was always Minyoung to talk to, but sometimes only telling your friend and not telling the main person involved didn't make it feel any better.

Minutes after staring blankly out into the winter streets, she saw Chanyeol already walking back to their table with the drinks held carefully in both his hands. She took the opportunity to observe every inch of him. Her head couldn't stop screaming out how handsome and manly he's become after years of not meeting each other. There was no doubt that back in high school Chanyeol was popular because of his good looks, good brains and athletic image. However now, there was something about him that made him look more full of charisma, a kind of magnet that drawed her in. It sure would've been more exciting if she was still with him now, but time has made everything that happened between them change. And because of her and Luhan, there's nothing she can do about it.

Chanyeol reached the table and sat on the closest to hers, "Here you go. I bought us some shaved ice by the way."

Her eyes grew wide, "Shaved ice?"

"Yeah, why?"

She paused for a second before shaking her head, "It's Nothing."

But of course it was a lie. She wondered to herself why simple things like that could bring so many memories flooding back into her mind. Hyerin hated herself for not being strong enough to hold back her emotions. A tear escaped her eyes and luckily, she was quick enough to blink it away before Chanyeol looked back at her.
