Tiffany turned her head back slowly knowing it was Taeyeon’s voice.

“Hi Tae-Tae.” She said with a weak voice.

She patted the sand beside her, signaling Taeyeon to sit next to her.

Taeyeon followed her silent invitation.

“Why are you here? It’s quite cold. You might get sick.” Taeyeon said with her caring voice while rubbing Tiffany’s back softly.

“I’m ok Tae-Tae. Don’t worry. I just need some air.” The pale girl answered.

“Are you sure Fany?” the older girl wasn’t convinced.

Tiffany just nodded and moved her sight to the dark ocean in front of them. Looking far away like she’s seeing the end of it.

“Fany, why were you surprised when we arrived?” Taeyeon asked as she followed the young girl’s gaze.

“Well Tae-tae, it looks exactly the same.”

“Same with what?” Taeyeon’s forehead was creased.

“Same with our beach house in Florida. Except the color, if you have blue, we have green.”

“Wow! That’s pretty amazing. My dad actually got the idea from a friend in the US.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. But Fany, why are you sad?”

“Me? Sad? No I’m not.” Tiffany tried to hide.

“Have I told you that you’re a bad liar?” Taeyeon teased with a smile.

“HAHA. Not yet.” Tiffany’s face was bright from her eye-smile.

“Come on Fany. Tell me.” Taeyeon pushed Tiffany with light force.

“Well, FINE!” Taeyeon moved her body to face Tiffany.

“Tae-tae, my mom died when I was young…” Tiffany started.

Taeyeon was surprised with her words. “I’m sorry Fany.”

“It’s ok Tae. I just remembered the first time we had a vacation in Florida. My mom covered my eyes with her warm palms. She asked me to count 1 to 3. And when I opened my eyes, the breeze of the sea welcomed me. It was my mom’s birthday gift for me.” She bowed her head.

“And that was the last.” Warm salty tears started to flow down her milky cheeks. Taeyeon could help but feel sorry.

“I’m sorry Fany.” She move closer to Tiffany and gave her a comforting hug.

After the hug, Taeyeon sat back at her original place, now both of them are facing the water, crawling to the bay.

“Tae?”

“Hmm?”

“Who are you?” Tiffany asked out of nowhere.

 “I’m me. You?”

“I’m the special friend that Kim Taeyeon owns.”

“HAHAHA. That was good.” Taeyeon laughed.

 “Fany, describe yourself in one word.”

“Unique. What about you Tae-tae?”

It took a few seconds before Taeyeon could answer.

“Uncompleted.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know Fany. Because of my stupidity maybe. Maybe that’s why I can’t be complete.”

Tiffany just nodded.

“Tae, have you fallen in love?”

“Me? I don’t Fany. Why’d you ask?”

“You don’t know? How can that be?”

“I don’t know Fany. How does it feel like?”

“Feel what?”

“to be in love. I need to know if this feeling is love.”

“So you-“before Tiffany could say another word, Hayeon called them up.

“Kids, it’s pretty late. You should rest now.”

“Yes Umma. We’re coming!” Taeyeon answered.

Taeyeon stood up first then offered her hand to help Tiffany up.

“Yeeeeeeeeeep! Thanks Tae-tae.” Taeyeon replied with a big smile.

They walked through the sand with their fingers locked to each other, swinging them.

“What did you do outside girls?” Mr. Kim asked.

“Just chillin’ dad.” Taeyeon answered as she sat beside her father.

“Tiffany, do you want some hot chocolate?” Hayeon offered a mug to Tiffany.

“Thanks umma!”

“Umma? You call her mom while you call me sir? That’s unfair!” Mr. Kim played.

Taeyeon spanked her dad playfully.

“Tiffany, you and Yoona should call me Appa too.”

Everyone in the room laughed.

“Sure appa.” Tiffany answered, highlighting the word APPA.

“Where are Seohyun and Yoona?” Taeyeon asked.

“They’re at Seohyun’s room. Watching movies.” Her mother answered.

“I’ll go check them up.”

“I’m coming with you Fany.”

The two girls walked up on the 2^nd floor and slowly opened the door of Seohyun’s room.

“They fell asleep.” Tiffany whispered.

“Let’s just leave them there. We might ruin they’re sleep.” Taeyeon suggested.

“Are you ok sleeping alone at the guest room Fany?”

“Yeah. Don’t worry Tae-tae.”

“Are you going to sleep now?” Taeyeon asked as she slowly closed the door.

“Yeah. I’m a bit tired.”

“Ok then. Sleep well.”

“You too Tae-tae.” Tiffany answered as she headed to the guest room and gave Taeyeon a flying kiss.
